November 1, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Middle East Media Research Institute [MEMRI] is reporting [see, http://www.memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=SD209808#_edn2] that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei recently made a speech to students telling them that their hate of America was, "profound." The speech is being viewed as part of a government wide attempt to raise the stakes against a possible preemptive attack led by the United States against the rogue state's nuclear program.
Khamenei's speech was carried on state television and placed blame for the student's alleged hatred on actions taken by the U.S. over the, "past 50 years," decrying alleged plots that, "the U.S. government has concocted against Iran and the Iranian people," adding that, "The Americans have not only refused to apologize for their actions, but have continued with their arrogant actions."
In an apparent effort to make DC policy makers think twice about attacking the belligerent, Khamenei threatened, "anyone who wished to trample the identity and independence of the Iranian nation would have his hand cut off by it."
Taking his lead from Khamenei, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani noting America's recent attack on al-Qaeda camps in Syria and successful campaigns against Pakistani Taliban elements warned that, "its adventurousness would have a price that it would not be able to control."
Rather than pursuing a diplomatic route, Larijani suggested that Iran's response might come from Hezbollah, its proxy army.
In the third part of an obviously coordinated presentation, IRGC Political Bureau Chief General Yadollah Javani took the same line as Larijani and Khamenei warning that an attack by the U.S. on Iran would cause the country to retaliate, delivering, "a crushing counterblow by Iran and its allies in the region."
