Mayor of Gouda : Throw parents of Moroccan thugs out of their homes if they don't control their children

Mayor Wim Cornelius of Gouda wants a new law which makes it possible to throw the parents of Moroccan street thugs out of their homes if they don't bring their children under control.
This was reported in the Telegraaf. If parents don't keep their children under control the Mayor wants to ban them from the city if necessary. Yet it was yesterday that he said the tone in the parliament was much too hard. He also announced that he would come with an action plan.
Force
'We are going to be on top of them. We will force them to learn the Dutch language and teach them them the norms', said Cornelius about his plan. The municipality also wants to help with schooling and to find work. If that doesn't help 'then we will put them out of their house, take away their welfare and ban them from the city if necessary' according to the Mayor who finds that 'parents are responsible for their children also on the street'.
Extra money
In order to carry out his plans Cornelius has asked the cabinet for extra money and judicial support. The still secret 'complete packet of measures' was sent to the Cabinet to be evaluated.

'Marokkaans straattuig Gouda aanpakken via ouders'

Burgemeester Wim Cornelis (PvdA) van Gouda wil een nieuwe wet die het mogelijk maakt ouders van Marokkaans straattuig het huis uit te zetten als zij hun kinderen niet tot de orde roepen.
Dat meldt De Telegraaf. Als ouders hun kinderen niet in toom houden, wil de burgemeester hen desnoods uit de stad verbannen. Gisteren zei hij nog dat de toon in de Kamer tijdens het debat over de Marokkanen in zijn stad veel te hard was. Ook gaf de burgemeester aan met een actieplan te komen.
Dwingen
‘We gaan er bovenop zitten. We dwingen ze de Nederlandse taal te leren en brengen hun normen bij,' zegt Cornelis over zijn plan. Ook wil de gemeente helpen met scholing en het vinden van werk. Als dat niet helpt, ‘dan20zetten we ze uit huis, pakken hun uitkering af en verbannen ze desnoods uit de stad', aldus de burgemeester, die vindt dat ouders ‘óók op straat verantwoordelijk zijn voor hun kinderen'.
Extra geld
Om zijn plannen te kunnen uitvoeren heeft Cornelis het kabinet om extra geld en juridische ondersteuning gevraagd. Het nog geheime ‘complete pakket aan maatregelen' is ter beoordeling aan het kabinet gestuurd.
