March 22, 2007 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Hassan Abujihaad, a former U.S. Navy sailor [assigned to the USS Benfold, a guided missile destroyer] who was apprehended two weeks ago was indicted yesterday on two counts of terrorism [disclosure of classified information pertaining to national defense & provision of material support to terrorists with the intent of killing or injuring U.S. citizens] in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

He is scheduled to face arraignment in court on Friday.

Abujihaad is suspected of providing top secret information including the location of naval ships and methods by which they could be attacked.

The suspect was arrested in Phoenix, AZ while operating under the alias of Paul R. Hall.

Prosecutors are alleging that he was working with a British accomplice - Babar Ahmad - a suspected terror funder.

Ahmad is expected to be extradited and prosecuted alongside Abujihaad.

Investigators found incriminating evidence on Ahmad's computer hard drive including emails from Abujihaad which praised al-Qaeda's 2000 attack on the USS Cole in Aiden.

Indicating intent, Abujihaad is also believed to have purchased al-Qaeda jihad tapes. If convicted on both charges he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
