Jihad Merit Badges for Boca Boy Scouts?

October 27, 2006 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a recent series of articles [UK In Mortal Danger As Al-Qaeda Sleeper Cells Proliferate and World Assembly of Muslim Youth - WAMY - Operation Fits New UK Terror Model] PipeLineNews called attention to the radical European Muslim community's newfound interest in youth scouting and how some of these recruits found themselves being used as instruments of terrorism in the 7/7 London bombings.

It is therefore with a certain sense of alarm that we note this same phenomenon taking place in the United States...

When the Islamic Center of Boca Raton applied to the Gulfstream Council http://www.gulfstreamcouncil.org/0support.html for a charter to incorporate a Boy Scouts of America troop, they joined the approximately 95 Muslim troops nationwide.

The BSA's national spokesman Gregg Shields told the Sun Sentinel that:

"Boy Scout troops do not require that members adhere to a particular religious faith, as long as they profess belief in a higher power. We make so attempt to interpret God or the practice of religion. Really it's the role of the scout's family and his religious leaders…" - http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/8/afa/242006f.asp

But what if the scout's family and religious leaders preach and practice jihad?

This seems to be the case with ICBR, since the same website page which advertised the newly chartered troop also carries a piece claiming:

"…it is the month of Jihad, and the first decisive battle in Islam, the Battle of Badr, occurred during Ramadan…" http://www.icbr.org/

The same page which contains the Ramadan/jihad claim also announces a Boy Scout camp retreat with a sleepover on the ICBR grounds, perhaps a good opportunity to inspire the fledgling troop with tales of Mohammed's military conquests "...additionally the Messenger of Allah victoriously entered Mekkah during this blessed month" and explain why the "first decisive battle of Islam" represented only the beginning of a jihad to which they remain religiously obligated to wage.

The ICBR homepage also carried an announcement for a building fundraiser, for what has been referred to as "the incredible shrinking masjid" due to the fact that for the past five years the ICBR's grandiose plans for a replica of the grand mosque of Medina have never gotten off the ground, and a small school "The Garden of the Sahaba," was built in it's stead. - http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/113

The building project's difficulties are due in large part to the flight of the previous Imam and other mosque officials who felt compelled to leave Florida to avoid law enforcement scrutiny which had already resulted in the arrest of congregant Rafiq Sabir in 2004, for swearing an oath of allegiance to al-Qaeda and planning to start a jihad camp in Long Island.

For now it seems, the ICBR will have to adjust its sights a little lower, settling on the Boy Scout troop instead.

Speakers at a recent ICBR building fundraiser included Imam Radwan Koualti, the overseeing Imam of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, who also runs the "LoveAllah.net" website.

LoveAllah teaches Muslims that, "As believers, our mission is to completely and fully enslave ourselves to Allah…The nature of believer's love for Allah is sacrificial. …This means that believers out of the love to their Lord sacrifice that which is beloved to them…"

Koualti's rather chilling strictness is echoed by the previous ICBR Imam Ibrahim Dremali, who recently told a television audience in Des Moines [where claims he was forced to seek refuge from people who revealed his terrorist affiliations, such as this writer] that:

"Muhammad and Allah are more valuable to us than our own lives, the lives of our children, mothers and fathers..."http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060207/NEWS08/602070382/1001/SPORTS12

Less obscure, in 2000 ICBR Imam Dremali spoke at a rally in Miami where Israeli flags were burned, children were put in mock graves, and the crowd shouted, "With jihad we'll claim our land, Zionist blood will wet the sand." At this event Dremali exhorted the crowd "not to be sad for those who were martyred and to not be afraid to die for what they believe in."

In May of this year Ibrahim Dremali, ICBR spokesman Daniel McBride, and "overseeing Imam" Radwan Koualti were all speakers at an a Da'wa [i.e. proselytizing to recruit converts to Islam - jihad through conversion] convention in Iowa.

In the event's logo the "O" in "Iowa Muslims" been replaced by a crescent and star, a clear signal that radical Islamists such as Dremali' intent to Islamize America's heartland.

ICBR as an institution has been thoroughly discredited, for example its spokesman McBride was arrested and charged with tax fraud in 2005.

Also in 2005, Dremali created a personal website which contains a page in support of the convicted U.S. terrorist Ali Al Timimi.

Timimi was convicted on April 26, 2005 in Virginia's U.S. District Court of soliciting others to levy war against the United States, acting as a Taliban recruiter. He is currently serving a life sentence plus 70 years with no possibility of parole.

Dremali's site also contains links in support of Achmed Deedat, the South African Islamist who ran the International Center for the Propagation of Islam, which was directly funded by Osama Bin Laden and whom Deedat had met with several times.

The present line up of activities and speakers at the Islamic Center of Boca Raton should have precluded the mosque from ever having been granted a Scout charter.

This was brought to the attention of the Gulfstream Scouting Council together with the article "Boca Raton City of Terror" which documented ICBR's connections to a global jihad network and exposing former Imam Ibrahim Dremali - a member of the Muslim Brotherhood - who, together with his co-wife and brother, ran a "charity" which fund raised for Hamas in Gaza.

The ICBR's website at one time included a highly promoted link to a site supporting Islamic jihad in Chechnya which was used to recruit for al-Qaeda.

When ICBR congregant Rafiq Sabir was arrested for swearing an oath of loyalty to Bin Laden, this writer commented on efforts of his fellow ICBR members to portray him as a good Samaritan who wanted to help holy warriors in need.

"ICBR spokesman Daniel McBride is whirling faster then a dervish on speed, together with Altaf Ali, the FL (Florida) director of CAIR, to portray Dr. Rafiq Sabir [who is being denied bail on the grounds that he is a threat to the community] as a Muslim who is being unfairly victimized. According to McBride and Ali's Islamist weltanschauung, Sabir's intention to minister to wounded Jihadis and train fellow Muslims for Jihad is simply the Muslim version of Florence Nightingale and a Boy Scout." - MilitantIslamMonitor

ICBR's recent past history as well as acting Imam Radwan Koualti's close ties with both Ibrahim Dremali and Daniel McBride should be raising red flags at the Gulfstream Council and among the parents of scouts who might be interacting with the ICBR troop.

While these scouts may have gotten their charter partly because they fulfilled the Boy Scouts of America's condition that they believe in God, in our opinion this effort fashions them as a Trojan Horse, placed inside the quintessentially American bastion of scouting. This is yet another way for the mosque to pursue its Islamist agenda - jihad of the tongue.

Muslim scouts have been instructed on how to conduct Da'wa in a scouting situation, including being told to pray outside their tents in order to awake curiosity which then might lead to questions about religion.

"The Muslim troops, in some ways, serve as goodwill ambassadors for their religion and people. They reach out to peers who might have little or no understanding of Islam and whose exposure to it comes from television images of terrorism and Muslim extremists.

A Muslim Girl Scout troop from Santa Clara was featured in an ad campaign, "We're Americans and We're Muslims," sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. A picture of smiling Muslim troop members from a recent multicultural fair at the Islamic Center adorns the 2005 annual report of the Girl Scouts' San Diego-Imperial Council.

Non-Muslim scouts who are often incapable of articulating their own religious beliefs, might prove no match for their Muslim "brothers" from the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, who are steeped in Islamist teachings.

One must wonder if Muslim scouts and their leaders who succeed in convincing non-Muslims to convert to Islam will be given jihad merit badges?

The noble intent of the BSA a group whose mission statement is to "serve America's communities and families with it's quality values based program" didn't take into account that they would one day be confronted with a religious group whose beliefs and values were antithetical to and would override everything the BSA stands for.

Attempts to warn the BSA not to become involved with the Islamic Center of Boca Raton have so far been met with the nonsensical attitude that they could not "discriminate" unless people involved with the troop had proven to be outright terrorists, hence there was no grounds to deny the ICBR a charter.

The ICBR for their part, acted with the usual unctuousness shown to "kuffars" as a means of furthering their Islamist agenda.

In our opinion the Islamist bent of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, its support of both Hamas and al-Qaeda operatives should have been ground for refusal to grant them a BSA charter.

But in an age were cowardice borne of ACLU threatened lawsuits rules supreme, common sense and self-preservation are now mislabeled bigotry and discrimination.

We again call attention to the way in which similarly constructed Muslim scouting programs in Europe have been abused with deadly results.

In our opinion, ICBR's BSA charter is being abused with the resultant troop merely functioning as another facet of cultural jihad which - long term - is every bit as threatening as the more violent form which is seen with all too much frequency, on the evening news.
