"Names of people who sign the petition will not be posted on the Web site, said CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, citing technical problems and a desire to keep abusive messages from appearing. But he added that CAIR will say periodically how many people have signed."

CAIR's Phony Petition

The killing by an Islamist group in early May of Nick Berg, an American civilian working in Iraq, was so barbarous that it put the heat even on American Islamists. In response, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations launched a petition called "Not in the Name of Islam," by which it hoped to "disassociate the faith of Islam from the violent acts of a few Muslims."

On the surface, this statement "against terrorism" appears impressive: "We, the undersigned Muslims, wish to state clearly that those who commit acts of terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent.

"No injustice done to Muslims," it goes on, "can ever justify the massacre of innocent people, and no act of terror will ever serve the cause of Islam. We repudiate and dissociate ourselves from any Muslim group or individual who commits such brutal and un-Islamic acts. We refuse to allow our faith to be held hostage by the criminal actions of a tiny minority acting outside the teachings of both the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him."

A Koranic passage (4:135) then follows to establish that this is not just CAIR's viewpoint: "Oh you who believe, stand up firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even if it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be against rich or poor; for God can best protect both. Do not follow any passion, lest you not be just. And if you distort or decline to do justice, verily God is well-acquainted with all that you do."

The chairman of CAIR's board, Omar Ahmad, whose idea this petition was, expressed his hope that it "will demonstrate once and for all that Muslims in America and throughout the Islamic world reject violence committed in the name of Islam."

The petition indeed won CAIR a fistful of kudos. Among others, the Associated Press, United Press International, Religion News Service, Washington Post, and Philadelphia Inquirer wrote admiringly of it. I found not a single skeptical word on the topic.

But a close look finds this petition lacking in several ways.

• CAIR vaguely condemns "terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam" but a genuine condemnation would name names and cite incidents. This is crucial because CAIR has shown, for example, that Islamist suicide bombings against Russians, Israelis, and Indians do not fit its definition of terrorism.

• CAIR is silent in this text about supporting counterterrorism efforts, and for good reason. It consistently opposes both the means (such as the Patriot Act, special registration for foreign visitors) and ends of counterterrorism (the arrest of Sami Al-Arian, conviction of the Buffalo Seven, seizure of Holy Land Foundation assets).

• The Koranic passage CAIR quotes about "stand up firmly for justice" is not about issuing press releases or signing petitions. "Standing up for justice should mean taking real action." Stephen Schwartz, a Sufi, tells me. "In today's situation, that translates into identifying and helping arrest Muslim evildoers by driving them from the community; outlining a straight path of moderation; and making clear one's loyalty to America."

• A petition is a "solemn supplication or request to a superior authority," so the obvious question arises: to whom is this CAIR "petition" addressed? Nobody – it is just an abstract statement. It might carry some weight were it addressed to Hamas, Al-Qaeda, or the extremists in Iraq. Addressed to no one, it amounts to just another CAIR bleating about being "against terrorism."

• CAIR claims over 650,000 signatures, but following its usual unaccountable ways, it makes no names available for public inspection. This practice is particularly suspect at a time when websites such as www.petitiononline.com have made it possible to see and count each name on a petition. Until CAIR makes the 650,000 names available, this figure should not be accepted.

In conclusion, "Not in the Name of Islam" seeks to clean up Islam's image without doing anything of substance. It manages to do two things at once: impress naïve Westerners without upsetting anyone in Hamas, Al-Qaeda, the Iraqi Islamist organizations, or other violent groups. In this, the petition initiative fits CAIR's well-established pattern of obfuscation and insincerity.

This is in essence the Al Muhajiroun 'mission statement' justifying terrorism and bombings in the name of Islam.

In the UK the Muslim Council of Britain sent out a "phony letter" to the mosques which pretended to condemn terrorism, but was nothing more then a public relations exercise.

In reality the MCB's ideology is identical to Al Muhajiroun, but they have learned that it is not politically expedient to yell "Jihad" in a crowded movie theater.

As one AM member put it: "There are no moderate Muslims behind closed doors."

Ironically Al Muhajiroun's condemnation of the MCB's hypocrisy exposes their militant Islamist agenda which they are attempting to conceal under the guise of moderation.

The Muslim Council of Britain has publicly condemned Al Muhajiroun as "extremists" yet welcomed Yusuf Qaradawi (who ruled that women should be suicide bombers), and Sheik Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, who called Jews "the descendents of apes and pigs".

By extrapolation. this is what groups like CAIR are doing when they trumpet their "phony petition" condemning terrorism , when they themselves are a Saudi funded front group for Hamas

. Last week, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, MPAC held a conference outlining their 'strategies to combat terrorism' together with the FBI .

Their director,Maher Hathout, made a speach condemning counter terrorism experts Steve Emerson and Daniel Pipes who wrote that until steps are taken these groups will continue to "spread their big lie" and reported the event as follows:

MPAC on Steven Emerson and Myself The Muslim Public Affairs Council yesterday held a much-hyped meeting (see coverage in the Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Pasadena Star News, and the Press-Enterprise) at which Maher Hathout unveiled a "mosque to mosque" campaign to provide Muslims with tools to fight terrorist activity. Sounds good, no? But Hathout throughout his talk kept disparaging Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project and myself, calling the two of us "self-professed terrorist experts who make all us Muslim look like terrorists." (I, by the way, have never declared myself an expert on terrorism.)

When queried why MPAC does not anyway work in unison with the two of us to root out terrorists, that presumably being our common ultimate objective, an MPAC person answered that it cannot do so because Emerson and I make "lay persons believe that all Muslims are terrorists."

In saying this, of course, MPAC is lying through its collective teeth. Emerson and I routinely and repeatedly make the point that Muslims in general are not the issue, only those radicalized ones who support the militant Islamic program. The Difference between CAIR and MPAC I am sometimes asked to characterize the difference between the two leading American Islamist organizations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim Public Affairs Council. While they agree on many issues – impeding counterterrorism efforts and forwarding an Islamist vision of America in particular – they also differ in some ways.

• General outlook: MPAC portrays itself as "moderate," a self-definition that presumably has never crossed CAIR's collective mind;
• Aggressiveness: CAIR is the attack-dog, MPAC follows.
• Funding: CAIR takes large amounts of money from at least one foreign state, something that MPAC disavows in its boilerplate fundraising appeal ("As a matter of policy, MPAC DOES NOT accept any funding from foreign governments").
• Geography: CAIR, being headquartered on New Jersey Avenue in Washington, D.C., is more relentlessly political than MPAC, headquartered on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Press Release Dated 7th July 2004 GOD EXPOSES THE HYPOCRISY THAT IS CALLED THE MCB Today was the day that Britain saw the true face of Hypocrisy that is called the Muslim Council of Britain (the MCB), their clear double standards and their willingness to say anything, even to disagree with their own so-called scholars when it comes to pleasing their masters in Downing Street. Whilst the apostate Yusuf Al-Qaradawi justified his stance on the acceptability of suicide operations and Micheal Howard challenged his very entry into the country in the Commons and whilst at the same time he is branded a terrorist and banned from stepping foot into the US, Iqbal Sacranie, Banglawala and their fellow cronies were quick to distance themselves from his views lest they too lose favour with their pay-masters or make Blair and Blunkett regret taking the MCB as the sold-out ‘moderate' voice of Islam (read non-practising Chamcha's here). One could not help but laugh out loudly as on the one hand Qaradawi was given the red carpet treatment by Sacranie, Wasti, Hilbawi and even Ken Livingstone, all the while having his views rejected and called his own, as the media hungered after the stance of the MCB on Fatwa's issued by Qaradawi, who is incidentally paraded as the main scholar and reference point on the MCB website. Why not condemn him as a fanatic and extremist, the way that you condemn the likes of Sheikh Omar Bakri and Sheikh Abu Hamza? We have to ask Sacranie and his ilk. What's the difference between Qaradawi praising suicide operations where women and children might be caught in the target and Sheikh Omar and Sheikh Abu Hamza doing the same? Why is one still a scholar and reference point or merely has a ‘difference of opinion' whilst the others are fanatics, extremists, fundamentalists and indeed even lunatics whose views represent a ‘minuscule' fringe of the fringe of the fringe within the Muslim community? As Sacranie, Tamimi and Banglawa steady themselves whilst lining up to take the position of the proverbial ostrich one cannot help but be astounded at their sheer hypocrisy? Then of course you have the other hypocrite Ken Livingstone who, having just recently once again became the darling of new Labour, was today praising Qaradawi and welcoming him as the chair, as he hosted the annual meeting of the European Council of Fatwa and Research held at the GLA. All the while being aware that the BBC Monitoring Unit have quoted al-Qaradawi as saying last year: "Oh God, destroy the usurper Jews, the vile crusaders and infidels." and that his views on homosexuality are on record as declaring it a "sexual perversion", for which the only question is whether gays should be killed by being thrown off a high cliff or flogged to death. Not to mention Qaradawis views on the acceptability of wife beating, with "the hand, but not with a stick" Whatever happened to Livingstone's inability to countenance those who hold homophobic views and who promote anti-Semitism or sexism? Were these not the very reasons he gave when he has consistently pledged to do all he could to ban Al-Muhajiroun rallies in Trafalgar Square? Looks like the congestion in London has finally made its way into Ken's brain. Another hypocrite is Blunkett's very own Fiona Mactaggart (the home Office Spokeswoman & Race and Community Cohesion minister) who, whilst her boss Blunkett was unveiling plans to make the incitement of religious hatred a crime, was making her own plans to send video messages to a Hijab conference on Monday where Al-Qaradawi will be the main attraction and speaker. Not to mention her rubbing shoulders with Sheikh Abdul-Rahman al-Sudais last month, whilst opening the new extension to Whitechapel Mosque, who according to the CIA, is on record as saying "Yesterday's Jews are bad predecessors and today's Jews are worse successors. They are killers of prophets and scum of the earth. God hurled his indignation on them and made them monkeys and pigs and worshippers of tyrants.' We wonder how long it will take Blunkett to issue Mactaggart's summons for supporting and promoting such racial hatred…so much for race and community cohesion! All of this despite the fact that Qaradawi is an apostate because of his support of the US and UK forces in Muslim countries and his making the Jews, Christians and Muslims an equal brotherhood. This despite Zaki Badawi being an apostate for requiring Muslims to give allegiance to the Queen instead of to Allah. This despite Azzam Tamimi being an apostate for his adoption of Democracy instead of Islam. And this despite Banglawala being an apostate for his allegiance with the enemies of Islam and the call to help them spy on and arrest Muslims in their global war against ‘Terrorism' (read here against Islam and Muslims). Indeed despite all of these individuals having sold their soul to the devil they are still not able to please their greedy masters in Downing street and the Whitehouse who will not be content until no trace of Islam remains at all from the mouths of any of them. Once again we are reminded of the ultimate truth spoken by Allah (SWT) when he says that: O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisers, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. Lo! you are the ones who love them but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures [i.e. you believe in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), while they disbelieve in your Book, the Qur'an]. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe". But when they are alone, they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: "Perish in your rage. Certainly, Allah knows what is in the breasts (all the secrets). If a good befalls you, it grieves them, but if some evil overtakes you, they rejoice at it. Many people use the term ‘terrorism', particularly because of claim of USA that their war is against ‘terrorism'. However, this frequent use is without first to define the term ‘terrorism'. This is a very dangerous practice, because it becomes subjective to personal opinion and can be abused and applied to anyone who disagrees with the user or against whom they hold a grudge against etc.

We see in the west, that they are eager to issue new laws under the pretext of ‘terrorism', enabling them to arrest arbitrarily and hold without charge or evidence and even hold them indefinitely as we have seen on numerous occasions; without to define terrorism they can include or exclude whoever they like from this legislation.

It becomes a duty upon Muslims when they come under attack, and when the scholars and the da'ees come under attack under this pretext, to give the Islamic verdict on terrorism and explain what the Islamic stance is on terrorism.

Firstly, Allah (swt) ordered the Muslims whenever there is a problem to make clarification for the divine rules in relation to that reality, especially when it has begun to affect life, honour and wealth. Allah (swt) says

"Allah has taken a vow from the people of the book to elaborate the book to the people and not to conceal anything." [EMQ 3: 187]

Therefore it becomes a duty upon the Muslims to elaborate to the people whenever anything occurs, and Allah explained that the people who conceal the knowledge are dispraised and are people of hellfire in His (swt) saying,

"Those who hide what we have sent to the people from ayat and answers and guidance, they are the people that Allah cursed them and the people curse them, except those who repent and do good deeds and … those, I will forgive them and I am the one who forgives all." [EMQ 2: 159-160]

Therefore, we are obliged to have ta'assie (resemblance) to the messengers and to the messenger Muhammad (saw), to always speak the Haq wherever we are and not to fear any consequences.

ISLAM COMPARED TO THE DISTORTED DEENS

This topic will begin with a comparison between the deen of Islam and the previous deens, which were all distorted; this distortion occurred when the innovations began to rise with some from among them and the others were silent over it. They were also to blame for the distortion.

For this reason Allah (swt) informed us not to exaggerate nor innovate anything in our deen as that will be a cause of distortion and will invalidate it to be followed, the same way that we can no longer follow the deen of the jews and Christians. Allah (swt) says,

"O people of the book, do not exaggerate anything in your deen except the Haq, and do not follow the desires of the people whom are misguided from the Haq before you and they misguided many people and were themselves astray." [EMQ 5: 77]

In this ayah, Allah (swt) obliged upon the believers not to be like the jews and Christians, from whom some innovated into their deen and the others were silent. We are informed about some of the people of the book who did reject the distortion, and they made hijrah leaving their people in order to worship Allah alone in isolation. However, they did not speak out against it, they were silent. Allah (swt) says,

"They innovated celibacy (to refrain from marriage and to leave all the people in order to worship Allah) and it was something that we did not oblige it upon them." [EMQ Hadid: 27]

They did not make a stand for the Haq against the batil but instead ran away from it, they died, and the Haq died with them. The real Mujahid should target for the deen of Allah to be victorious and to die for it's sake, not just to kill kuffar and die. We say "victory or martyrdom" and that victory is for the deen to prevail not for your own personal victory. When the enemy uses the batil as Haq, the truth must come out to challenge it. It is not enough to know the Haq and tell yourself in private, you must come out and do something about it.

We do not speak about terrorism to provoke people, but only because there is Haq that must prevail and there is nobody else speaking about it. Ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi said that,

"If someone is in dar ul harb and builds a platform for Islam, and then he leaves it - he is sinful."

When Allah (swt) sent the messenger Muhammad (saw), there was no one else on the earth who knew the Haq, even those who embraced Islam, they were so few in number that you could count them on your hand. They were the only ones who knew the Haq, he (saw) said,

"Allah looked to the earth and he hated them, the Arab and the ajam except for the remaining true people of the book." [Muslim]

This means that those few people of the book did know the Haq, yet they still did not speak out and so it died with them. If we do the same thing we would fall into the same calamity.

The distortion of the deen of the jews and the Christians cannot reach the deen of Islam even with the prevailing misguidance, this is because Allah (swt) designated for this Ummah ulema and du'aat who will always stand for the Haq and struggle for it and Allah (swt) said,

"We are the one who sent this dhikr (wahi) and we will protect it" [EMQ Hijr: 9]

Allah will protect this deen, the Qur'an and the Sunnah i.e. all of the revelation, Allah guaranteed that protection,

In the ahadith of Taa'ifah Mansoorah, NB we say Mansoorah, the victorious (i.e. victory for the deen, Allah said, "support (the deen of) Allah, he will support you.") Muhammad (saw) said,

"There will continue a portion of my Ummah who fulfil the command of Allah, it doesn't harm them who disagrees with them or lets them down." [Bukhari]

Imam Ahmed said,

"Taa'ifah Mansoorah is Ahl Al Hadith, if not Ahl Al Hadith, then who?"

In that time, Ahl Al Hadith were the only ones who stood up under attack, when the Jahl (ignorance) was spread, when the batil was spread everywhere, they were the ones who rose with the Haq.

TERRORISM IS A PART OF ISLAM

Allah (swt) says,

"Prepare as much as you can from power (missile weaponry) and steeds of war, in order to terrify the enemy of Allah" [EMQ Anfal: 60]

Allah (swt) made it obligatory in this ayah to prepare (Al I'daad) and to terrify (Al Irhaab) the enemy of Allah. This is waajib and this ayah is qati' (clear cut) and whoever denies it's meaning is kaafir regardless of his ‘interpretation' of terrorism. Allah (swt) says,

"Nobody rejects the ayat except the Kafirun." [EMQ Ankabut: 47]

The ayah mentioned Al Ijhaad, which means:

"To reject and say by the tongue: ‘it is not true'."

Furthermore, Allah (swt) says,

"Who is more oppressor than the one who lies about Allah or denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not a place in hell for the Kafirun? As for those who strive hard in our cause, we will surely guide them to our paths. Verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun." [EMQ Ankabut: 68-69]

Whoever says that Islam is free from terrorism or wants to differentiate between Islam and terrorism is committing Al Juhoud and that is Kufr Akbar – and will take them out of the fold of Islam.

The one who says ‘we should fight against terrorism', he is fighting against Islam. We know very well that USA meant no one else by the term ‘terrorists' but Islam and Muslims and the one who wants to avoid terrorism, is avoiding Islam.

THE KUFFAR ARE THE ENEMY

It is known that the USA is the enemy of Islam and Muslims. The fact that it is Dar ul Kufr Asslie, by default it is the enemy of Islam and Muslims. The original rules for any state that is not dar ul Islam nor has a treaty with it is that it is the enemy. There should be no doubt in the minds of any Muslims that the jews and Christians are kafir and the enemy of Islam and Muslims. Allah (swt) says,

"Those who disbelieve of the people of the book and the mushrikeen are in the hellfire forever, they are the worst of creation." [EMQ Bayyinah: 6]

and Allah (swt) says,

"Those who claim that Allah is Jesus ibn Maryam, they are kafir …" [EMQ Ma'idah:

17]

In this ayah, there is the manifestation of the anger of Allah (swt) when he said,

"Those who claim that Allah is ‘Isa ibn Maryam, they are kafir, who can have any protection if Allah decides to destroy Isa and his mother and all the people of the earth?" [EMQ Ma'idah: 17]

Allah (swt) says,

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day, nor do they forbid what Allah and his Messenger forbid, and they do not follow the deen of Haq among the people of the book (jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued." [EMQ 9: 29]

Whoever denies that the Jews and Christians are kafir, they are kafir. Allah (swt) in this ayah, made the purpose of fighting them because of their kufr, regardless of whether or not they fight us.

People ask "why do you say that the kuffar are the enemy?" despite Allah's (swt) saying,

"The kuffar are for you a clear enemy." [EMQ 4: 101]

Because of this ayah we should fear Allah and stop calling the kuffar our friends. The kuffar of USA and UK are kafir Asslie; they are without any doubt our enemy. We do not fight them, only because of the covenant of security that is binding on us. Allah said,

"Terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy" [Anfal: 60]

USA is not only the enemy because they disbelieve in Allah; more than that they are actively fighting against Islam and Muslims. Without any doubt, terrorism against them is obligatory.

FIGHTERS & NON FIGHTERS

Islam does not recognise any difference between the kuffar, they are either zhimmi (under the Islamic state) or mu'ahhed (has covenant with a Muslim), or he is harbi and has no sanctity for his life or wealth.

There is no such thing as an ‘innocent' kafir, innocence is only applicable for the Muslims; do not say ‘innocent' for the kafir, the most you can say for them is that they are ‘victims'. The Muslim however, is innocent even if he engages to fight and conquer the kafir, because he is fulfilling the shari'ah.

In the Shari'ah we either say zhimmi or harbi, zhimmi is either man, woman or child. The purpose of this classification is the need to know who from among them will pay the jizyah.

The Harbi is classified for his hukm, is it hukman only? or hukman wa fi'lan – meaning that we fight him? Those we fight are those who are male, young and rich (i.e. they are suitable for fighting). They deserve to be fought, whether they fight us or not.

Generally the harbi hukman (non-fighter) but not fi'lan are the women and children as long as they do not actually fight, the elder men, the disabled men, the blind or insane men etc, none of these are fought against as long as they do not themselves fight (like they do today) nor supports the fighting, nor do they do anything that leads to support of the fighting. [Al Mughni – ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi]

Nowadays, the women are also fighting (e.g. in Israel) and so take the same hukm as the enemy and should be terrorised along with them. Imam Shafi'i said,

"There is no dispute among the fuqaha that if the non-fighters begin to fight, they will be killed." [Kitab ul Umm]

Therefore, to use the term ‘innocent' or ‘civilian' is not correct because we know that the majority of men are fighters because of their capability to fight.

Even children, if they begin to fight they will be fought with the enemy as fighters, the exception only being the babies. Toddlers will never be called fighters and they are the only ones who some fuqaha say that they are innocent, others say no, that they are the children of the kuffar and so are kuffar like them. Ahl Al Sunnah Wal Jama'ah believe that the babies are born on the fitrah and the children of the kuffar are on their way to becoming kafir.

Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad believes that the children in general below the age of distinguishing (4-7) are innocent. The sahabah asked the prophet (saw),

"When we raided by night, we found amongst the dead many children," he (saw) said, "they are part of them"

So despite the fact that they are innocent; if they are killed by mistake their account is with Allah, even if innocent Muslims were killed in the attack the fighting is still permissible.

There is no sin if they are killed by mistake, this is called Al Tatarrus - that if you cannot kill the enemy without to go through them, you kill and you know that Allah will deal with them.

Umm Salamah narrated about people who made ghazu for the Ka'bah, Allah (swt) made landslides to destroy them and among them were many women and children and even Muslims, the prophet (saw) said,

"There will be khasef for the beginning and end of them and each will be accounted on the day of judgement."

If the people in the target are a mix between those who deserved to be killed and some who do not, that does not prevent to fight and kill all of them together.

Some people will ask the question, "what about the family of the killed kuffar?" However, it is well known that it is not allowed to feel any sympathy for the kuffar, Allah (swt) says,

"Do not feel sorry for the fasiqeen (the Jews)." [EMQ 5: 26]

and He (swt) says,

"Do not feel sorry for the kafireen." [EMQ 5: 68]

Allah (swt) says,

"Allah shook the earth, all of them were killed, those who said Shu'aib was not nabi, as if they never had money nor lived there, say: "O My people, I have conveyed the message of my lord to you. After that, how dare I feel sympathy for the kafireen?" [EMQ A'raf: 91 -93]

Not only is it obligatory to fight them, it is haram to feel sorry for them when they are killed. It is haram for us to feel sorry for them when Allah sends on them natural disasters, let alone when they are killed deliberately for the sake of Allah.

Moreover, Allah (swt) says,

"Fight them, Allah will punish them with your hands, and humiliate them and support you against them and cure the hearts of the believers …" [EMQ 9: 14]

Allah made it clear for us, that any calamity that occurs to them will make us satisfied in our hearts and that the kuffar have no karamah (dignity).

ALLIANCE WITH THE KUFFAR

Allah (swt) says,

"O you who believe, do not take the jews and Christians as allies, they are allies to each other, and anyone of you who takes them as allies is one of them, and Allah will never guide the oppressors (disbelievers)" [EMQ 5: 51]

Allah will never forgive the one who allies with the kuffar against Muslims, Allah (swt) says,

"Those who have a weak heart will hurry to them (and start to praise them) and say, "we feared a calamity might come to us," and Allah may bring the conquest or change their situation… they should blame nobody but themselves …" [EMQ 5: 52]

Allah (swt) explained further to us, that it is not only to ally with them that is forbidden, but even to support them in any way. He (swt) informed us that the support is Muwalaat,

"The awliyaa' who give support …" [EMQ Shura: 46]

So if you support them in their kufr or against Muslims, you are awliyaa', you are allied to them and kafir, that is why ibn Hazm said after quoting this ayah,

"If you give them a cup of water you are kafir."

Imam Shafi'i said,

"If anyone (knowingly) sells to the kuffar stone or wood for building their churches, they are kafir."

Ibn Taymiyyah said,

"Anybody who supports the kuffar on their kufr or against Muslims, they are kafir." [Majmou' Al Fattawa]

This kufr of alliance with the kuffar against the Muslims has a long history in our Ummah and was a cause of the destruction of the Khilafah.

In Andalus, the Muwalaat against the kuffar against the Muslims caused the loss of Andalus to the crusaders.

[1916-1918] The kuffar often succeed to take from Muslims to ally with them against other Muslims; in fact that is the very cause of the destruction of the Islamic state. Sharif Hussein was the one who fought under the leadership of the british fighting against the Muslims in Turkey in the time of the Ottoman Khilafah. They claimed to liberate Al Sham from the ‘turkish' army; but not long after that, the British took control over it themselves and it was here that the famous British general went to the grave of Salahuddin to gloat.

After that, their agent Sharif Hussein and his family, after being promised power and authority as ‘the king of all the Arabs' were thrown out and sent to Cyprus; It was there that he wrote his book about the betrayal by the British against him.

His son was the one who later came to power in Jordan after negotiations with the British and on condition that he gave them Palestine.

In this time also, Muslims from India were used by the kuffar against the state in Iraq and it was Muslims from Tunisia and Algeria (Algeria was later taken by the French) who fought for the French against the Muslims in Al Sham.

[1991], When Iraq entered into Kuwait, USA came to the region but there were so many Muslims who took it upon themselves to rise against other Muslims. In fact even before the US army, it was Egyptian troops that were the first to enter into the region to fight the Muslims.

[2001], Currently, there are many soldiers from many Muslim countries fighting against the Taliban and Al Qa'ida alongside with the kuffar. Pakistan was at the front line in the destruction of Afghanistan.

Furthermore, it was the Northern Alliance who directly allied with USA against the Muslims. Muslims from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were also allying to fight against the Taliban.

All of this destruction is caused by the hesitation and refusal by the Muslims to make takfeer and refusal to call the kuffar kuffar, because of their lack of understand of the correct Aqeedah and lack of Al Walaa Wal Baraa'.

Moreover, the kuffar proudly make boasts of making countries like Afghanistan and Iraq to be ‘civilised' and to develop them to be partners in the international community, their intention is only to change the deen to their deen, their deen of freedom and democracy; yet it is still the Muslims doing their dirty work and supporting their crusade.

We find that the Muslims are completely confused, in this time of crisis we should turn to Allah, yet the Muslims are more and more turning to the kuffar. Because of their lack of understanding of Islam, they do not know who their enemies are and who their friends are, they do not know who is Muslim nor who is Kafir.

The Muslims readily attack and condemn other Muslims because they commit terrorist acts, yet they do not know that Terrorism is obligatory in Islam against the enemy of Allah. Neither do they believe in terrorism nor do they know that the kuffar are our enemies and the enemies of Allah; resulting that they ally with them against other Muslims. In this time when all the kufr is spread and all the batil is prevalent, when people are leaving the deen of Islam without to know, it is essential for there to be Muslims rising to command good and forbid evil, to address and elaborate these issues for the people so that the Haq may prevail and confront the batil.
