Kamran Bokhari, militant Islamist, linked to Al Qaeda, and Al Muhajiroun, to speak at SMSU terrorism forum with State Department official David Ballard.

Kamran Ashgar Bokhari , a spokesman for the militant Islamist group Al Muhajiroun in North America, is scheduled to speak in the capacity of a Stratfor analyst at a forum at Southwest University in Missouri on April 2, 2004 at 6:30 on "The Root causes of Anti-Americanism in the Muslim World", as part of the "Public Affairs Lecture Series on Terrorism", organised by the Springfield U.N. Association and SMSU Professor Haghayeghi.

In 1999 Kamran Bokhari, then a student at SMSU, responded to an article in the SMSU Standard entitled "Terrorism a Threat to Society" with the piece, "Freedom Fighters Now Being called' Terrorists '", where he stated; "I am quite amazed at how fighting occupation forces can be convienently and arbitrarily dubbed as terrorism". If this is the case ,then Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin, could be considered terrorists by the U.S. government"... "As a Muslim, I am concerned that through this "Get Ussamah Bin Ladin" campaign, the U.S. government is trying to distort and obscure reality".

Kamran Bokhari was the leader of the Muslim student Association at SWSU in 1999 and was head of the Islamic Center of Southwest Missouri. On February 20, 2004 Jonathan Mintz wrote in the Washington Post that: "The Treasury Department ordered banks yesterday to freeze the accounts of the Oregon and Missouri branches of a large Saudi charity that U.S. officials say has been used to finance the al Qaeda terrorist network around the world... The affidavit also disclosed that a federal grand jury has been investigating al-Haramain's U.S. operations. The U.S. branch of the charity has mainly distributed Islamic books and videos to Americans, and also helped establish a mosque in Springfield, Mo., with more than $370,000 provided by the Saudi headquarters."|lang_en&ie=UTF-8

One of the top leaders of that mosque was Kamran Bokhari, a student from Southwest Missouri State University, who was the U.S. representative of a London based group called Al-Muhajiroun which supports Al Qaeda"...

Kamran Bokhari invited the head of Al Muhajiroun, Anjem Choudary, to speak at the Muslim Student Association symposium on April 12, 2000. His MSA group received an $800 grant for the event from the SMSU Public Affairs Program. Anjem Choudary heads Al Muhajiroun in the U.K..

Last week Dr. Daniel Pipes wrote that "Al Muhajiroun ... celebrated the first anniversary of 9/11 with a conference titled," Towering Day in History." It celebrated the second anniversary by hailing "The Magnificent 19." Its Web site currently features a picture of the U.S. Capitol building exploding...At least one Al-Muhajiroun member went to Israel to engage in suicide terrorism. Al-Muhajiroun appears to be connected to one of the 9/11 hijackers, Hani Hanjour".

Kamran Bokhari is also a fellow at the Center for the study of Islam and Democracy and the secretary and Interim Treasurer of the AMSS- the Association of Muslim Social Scientists which is associated with the IIIT, the International Institute of Islamic Thought, which was raided by law enforcement for ties to terrorist funding.

Dr. Daniel Pipes states that:" Most of CSID's Muslim personnel are radicals".

Beila Rabinowitz, the director of stated that; " it is a travesty that when the United States is waging a war on terror, Kamran Bokhari, who has been named in connection with the Springfield Islamic Center and an Al Qaeda terrorist fundraising operation now under investigation by the U.S.Treasury Department ,is scheduled to speak in the capacity of a Stratfor analyst, at a Public Affairs Forum on terrorism together with State Department official David Ballard. MIM is urging SMSU and all those involved to cancel Kamran Bokhari's appearance at this event".
