Notorious UK Cleric Anjem Choudary Charged over ISIS Recruitment

Anjem Choudary, Britain's most notorious radical Muslim preacher, has been formally charged with enlisting British citizens to support ISIS.
Choudary, along with one of his top proteges, stands accused of "inviting support" for the vicious Islamist terror group between 29 June 2014 and 6 March 2015, according to British media reports.
The Islamist leader is a high-profile sympathizer of the so-called "Islamic State" group, and has previously founded and headed a number of extremist Muslim groups which were subsequently banned as terrorist organizations by the British government.
But Choudary - a 48-year-old former British law student - has proven adept at circumventing UK anti-terror and incitement laws, avoiding formal charges despite his incendiary rhetoric - until now.
In September of last year he was arrested along with Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, 32 - a notorious anti-Semitic preacher who has served time in prison for incitement - under suspicion of being members of ISIS, which is a proscribed terrorist organization in the UK.
Earlier that year it was revealed Choudary had been vetting British Muslim recruits to join ISIS in Syria and Iraq, along with another Islamist leader now based in Lebanon.
"Each man is charged with one offence contrary to section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000," said Sue Hemming, head of special crime and counter-terrorism at the Crown Prosecution Service.
"It is alleged that Anjem Choudary and Mohammed Rahman invited support for IS in individual lectures which were subsequently published online."
The arrests follow UK Prime Minister David Cameron's vow to crack down on Islamist terrorism, incitement and indoctrination.
Choudary has risen to notoriety in part due to the wide media exposure he has been granted in both liberal and conservative media outlets.
He has even appeared several times on Fox News, recently clashing with anti-Islamist campaigner Pamela Geller.

Brit Jihadist Anjem Choudary Busted For Terror Support
August 9, 2015 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – On Wednesday, August 5 imam Anjem Choudary - a long-time UK supporter of Islamic terrorism – along with fellow jihadist Mahmoud Rahman, were charged with providing support to ISIS and jailed.

Choudary's record of supporting jihad while availing himself of all the benefits [literally] of UK citizenship has been remarkable.
Since the late 1990s he has been involved in nearly every aspect of terror promotion, including operations which seem to have been within the network of Osama bin-Laden.
According to Discover the Networks:
"Choudary in 1999 was chief recruiter in Great Britain for the International Islamic Front (IIF), a group persuading and assisting young British Muslims to undergo "guns and live ammunition" combat training and then go overseas to fight Jihad ("Holy War") in Chechnya and the Balkans. The head and chief sponsor of IIF in England was the founder of Al Muhajiroun,Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad. Osama bin Laden in 1998 issued a fatwa that declared it a Muslim's "individual duty" to kill Americans and he created a new organization called the International (or World) Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders. Sheikh Bakri Mohammad described himself as the head of the "political wing" of IIF with no "structural link" to bin Laden, according to the India newspaper Indian Express, but the Sheikh acknowledged that "the military wing of the International Islamic Front is run by Osama bin Laden." As the BBC reported in 2003:
"Anti-terrorist police officers have raided the headquarters of the radical Islamic group al-Muhajiroun. Other raids have taken place at the homes of the group's leaders, Omar Bakri Muhammad in Edmonton, north-east London, and Anjem Choudary in Tottenham, north London. Al Muhajiroun was subsequently banned as a terrorist organization in 2005 amd Omar Bakri fled Britain from which he is now barred from re-entry. The group resurfaced again under the guise of Islam4UK which has also been banned as a terrorist group.
Choudary is unapologetic, an anti-Semite and clearly a permanent terrorist threat to the security of the UK because of his open jihadism. If Britain still had a system of justice Choudary would have already had an appointment with a brick wall and be pushing up daisies somewhere from an un-marked grave.
