Denial vs Reality: Israeli Politicians Who Defend Arabs Refuted By Those Who Know There Can Never Be Peace With Them

November 20, 2014

MIM: In search of a national couch. Naftali Bennett And Reuven Rivlin in the throes of a delusional pyschosis regarding the presence of and coexistence with Arabs in Israel.

Former MK Michael Ben Ari and Moshe Feiglin point out the hypocrisy and insanity of their kumbaya feel good diversity statements.

"We are going through a difficult time. There is a wave of attacks, and no one can guarantee that that wave is over," Bennett opened his speech. "We are working every day until late at night, including yesterday, to combat terrorism. But you have to know 99.9% of Arab citizens are loyal to the State of Israel. It is only a very small minority acting out against."

Economy Minister and Jewish Home Chairman Naftali Bennett

"...President Reuven Rivlin addressed the security situation Wednesday, noting that tensions in Jerusalem have ballooned into an all-out "Jewish-Muslim conflict" during a television interview.

"Jerusalem has seen many difficult times," Rivlin said. "I remember, as a child, living under siege. We have seen days of battle, days of Intifada and riots."

"Today, we are in a difficult struggle, and Jerusalem is faced once again with difficult times," he continued. "The Arab-Israeli conflict has become a Jewish-Muslim conflict, and unfortunately both parties understand this and yet remain silent."

"Let's be clear: we have no war with Islam," he added, repeating similar sentiments to remarks he made to the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier earlier this week. "We did not have in the past, and we will not have in the future. We need to make this clear to everyone. Jerusalem should not have to tolerate any religious war."

"Jerusalem is the united capital of Israel and since 1967, anyone can practice their religion, in accordance with their own conscience and in complete free will."

Rivlin emphasized that, in his words, Jerusalem must remain a mixed city..."

"No Arab workers on IDF bases"

"...Israeli Jews took the streets on Thursday in support of Ashkelon Mayor Itamar Shimoni's decision to temporarily stop the employment of Arab construction workers on sites near schools citing security concerns, even as a debate raged as to the legality of the move.

Bennett was joined in his criticism of Shimoni by Netanyahu as well as Interior Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) - according to MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud), the ministers and other MKs speaking against the mayor suffered from "hypocrisy."

"There's so much hypocrisy in the media crackdown on the Ashkelon Mayor - Mr. Itamar Shimoni - and calls of 'racist' against him," Feiglin wrote on his Facebook page Thursday afternoon..."

"After all, Arab workers don't enter IDF bases or sensitive facilities of the Defense Ministry," noted Feiglin. "So why is the security of kindergarten children in Ashkelon less sensitive? Why is the concern for security racism?"

In his remarks Feiglin echoed comments made by former MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari, who noted earlier that from his experiences no Arab workers are employed for manual labor in the Knesset.

"Not a single Arab contractor or Arab laborer can work in the Knesset. It's a fact. I was there for four years, all of the contractors are Jews and there are no Arab laborers. Not in flooring, not in carpentry, not in cleaning," said Ben-Ari. "Let the hypocritical Bennett and (MK) Miri Regev first fight against the 'racism' in the Knesset!"

Several of the recent high-profile terror attacks were committed by Arab workers who had intimate knowledge of the sites of their attacks, such as in the synagogue attack this week.

Likewise the terrorist who last month shot Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick was employed at a restaurant in the Begin Heritage Center where the attack occurred, and Jewish construction worker Netanel Arami hy"d was apparently murdered by an Arab co-worker in September.

Numerous prior attacks were also committed by Arab workers employed by Israeli businesses who used their positions to murder Israelis.

Former MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari has weighed in on the "hypocritical" MKs condemning Ashkelon Mayor Itamar Shimoni, who temporarily stopped the employment of Arab construction workers on sites near schools citing security amid the recent spike of terrorist attacks.

Condemnation has come in from right-wing parties as well, with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's criticism joined by that of Interior Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud), and Economics Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) going as far as to claim 99.9% of Arab citizens of Israel are loyal to the state.

However, Ben-Ari claimed that from his experience the Knesset itself does not hire Arab workers for manual labor, apparently sharing the security concerns that Shimoni acted on.

Responding directly to Bennett's 99.9% loyalty claim, Ben-Ari said "it would be interesting to know where he did this 'survey'; I was in the Galilee last Independence Day, I didn't see a single Israeli flag. I saw calls against Israel. ...They are loyal to destroying us, and celebrate the Nakba ('Catastrophe' of Israel's formation)."
