IDF Releases Footage of Attempted Stabbing Attack

IDF releases video footage of an attempted stabbing attack on a bus, in which an Arab cut off the sidelock of a hareidi Jew. By Elad Benari First Publish: 10/22/2013, 4:42 AM

The IDF released on Monday video footage of an attempted stabbing attack near Beitar Illit.

The attack took place around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, when a Palestinian Authority Arab man drew a knife and threatened the Israeli driver of a bus. No one was hurt in the incident, though the Arab had cut off the sidelock of a hareidi Jew.

An initial investigation indicated that the Arab boarded the bus in the Beit Shemesh area, in the direction of Beitar Illit. He asked the driver to let him get off the bus at a location that is not a legal bus stop, and the driver refused. At this point the Arab took out a knife and threatened the driver, who stopped the bus immediately and let him off. The Arab disembarked and ran away.

In recent weeks, there has been a surge in serious terror attacks.

A tractor attack was thwarted near Jerusalem on Thursday evening. In that attempted attack, a terrorist aged about 30 broke into an IDF base at A-Ram, north of the capital, driving a tractor. Soldiers fired on him and killed him.

On the previous week, PA Arab terrorists broke into the Jordan Valley home of Sraya Ofer, a retired IDF colonel, and killed him using iron bars and axes.

A week earlier, a terrorist infiltrated the Binyamin region community of Psagot, shooting nine-year-old Noam Glick at close range and then fleeing.
