MIM: It took less then a year for the new Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation in Boca Raton, to out it's radical Islamist agenda, by inviting the neo Nazi William Baker to speak at their first major event. In order to provide a facade of legitimacy to this Islamo facist hate fest, Assadiq has apparently 'invited' the Mayors of Boca Raton and Coral Springs to be their 'guests of honor' without informing them that their names would be featured on the poster publicising the event. The Mayor of Boca Raton, says he was never invited at all...
Update: As of 4/13/04 The Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation has altered the event poster and removed the references to the 'guests of honor' and the Mayor of Boca Raton and Mayor of Coral Gables. The printed announcement on the website was also changed to include the title of the 'Mayor of Coral Springs'.
Both the mayor of Boca Raton and the mayor of Coral Springs deny having authorised the use of their names. They have announced that they would never attend an event featuring William Baker.

MIM: Mayor Steven Abrams has issued this statement to clarify his position on this event. He says that he was never invited and that the Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation used his name without his knowledge or consent.
Statement from Boca Raton Mayor Steven Abrams:
Thank you for your email regarding the Assadiq Islamic Education
Foundation event to be held in Boca Raton on April 30, 2005. I am
outraged that my name has been associated with this event. I have not
received any request to attend or be "honored" at the event and would
certainly not accept any such invitation. It is particularly upsetting
because one of the advertised speakers is William W. Baker. Several of my
family members perished in the Holocaust, and any suggestion challenging
the historical record of the Holocaust is repugnant to me.
I am, of course, seeking to contact this organization to express my
extreme displeasure and demand that my name be removed from any
advertising for this event.
MIM: Update: It is laudable that the mayor is going to deal with the misuse of his name and office in this way, and it is to be hoped that government officials will see this as a cautionary tale . If lslamists in Boca Raton think they can get away with trying to use the mayor's name to gain legitimacy for an event featuring a neo Nazi, one must logically conclude that what is going on behind the scenes is even more cause for alarm.
We can only hope that the Mayor of Boca Raton and the Boca City Council have learned to exercise caution when dealing with the 'friendly' overtures of the Muslim community. The past 4 years which have seen the terrorist connections of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton (under the leadership of known Muslim extremist Ibrahim Dremali) which included a Hamas 'charity' front, and their affiliate, the Muslim Student Association at FAU ,exposed in articles with titles like "Boca Raton- City of Terror" and most recently "Terror U".
Coral Springs Mayor Ernest - Jones is another cautionary tale in the pitfalls of 'multi kulti' . As the mayor states in his letter he was approached by "a nice young cleric" who "invited him to attend a dinner at his foundation". The mayor]'s description of Imam Al Qazwini, "who communicated well ...and seemed to be the kind of leader who would seek out the paths to peace and understanding" is illustrative of the deception used by Islamo facists to deceive well meaning community leaders into providing a stamp of approval which masks their radical Islamists agendas.
MIM: Mayor Rhon Ernest - Jones wrote this letter to announce he would not be attending the event and that his name was misused.
Let me first say that, until I spoke recently to Mr. Art Teitelbaum of the ADL, I had no idea who William Baker is or what viewpoint he represents. Now I know, but since I have not seen any of the publicity for the upcoming event, I am at a disadvantage. The very notion that I am "sharing the spotlight with Baker" is offensive to me.
Having said that, I will recount a simple flow of events which has led to this misunderstanding and unintended consequence. In February of this year, the City of Coral Springs hosted a celebration of Eid. As you may know, Coral Springs is a front-runner with regard to building multi-cultural relations and to the fostering of communication and goodwill between people of different races, colors and creeds. At the Eid event I met a young cleric named Imam Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini, who communicated well and seemed to my wife and me to be the kind of leader who would seek out the paths to peace and understanding. About one month ago I received a message from him, inviting me to attend a dinner of his educational foundation. No mention was made as to who the speakers would be. I replied that I could not stay for the whole evening and could not be a guest of honor, but that my wife and I would be happy to drop by for half an hour to pay respects. I do not know if you are familiar with the life of a Mayor, but I can assure you that brief appearances at events is an almost daily occurance, and often several in one day. The idea being to spread goodwill and information, and to build relations. The next thing I heard was your message, which quite surprised and shocked me. I am still making enquiries as to how the Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation felt at liberty to use my name to promote the event, and because they did so without my permission I will not be attending the event. I will be contacting them directly to stop their use of my name.
I am sending this message in response to yours and also with the hope that you will pass it on to those who have an interest in this matter.

According toStan Brin's article in the Orange County Weekly, Baker (who is listed on the Assadiq banquet announcement as being from the LA Crystal Cathedral) was kicked out by them in 2002:

The investigation also revealed that Baker had manufactured much of his alleged academic qualifications.
"We have separated ourselves from the CAMP ministry, and Mr. Baker will be off the campus as of May 31," a Crystal Cathedral spokesman said.

MIM: This is an account of William Baker's appearence at an Islamist conference last year in Toronto http://www.danielpipes.org/article/1431 Canadian Islamists host a neo-Nazi by Daniel Pipes A just-finished, very large Islamist conference in Toronto (the Toronto Star says it attracted 7,000 participants) called "Reviving the Islamic Spirit" featured such stars of the Islamist circuit as Tariq Ramadan and Siraj Wahhaj. It also hosted a neo-Nazi named William W. Baker. Baker was exposed in February 2002 in the Orange County Weekly in a major investigation by Stan Brin, titled "Hour of White Power: Reverend Robert H. Schuller relies on a man with ties to Neo-Nazis to build religious understanding." Brin established Baker's close ties to Willis Carto, the "dean of American neo-Nazi politics," and revealed Baker's many other insalubrious activities, including his chairmanship in 1984 of a neo-Nazi organization called the Populist Party. Soon after, the Crystal Cathedral's Schuller expelled Baker and cut all ties to him. But the news has not gotten out. William W. Baker stills gets invited to and paid by reputable institutions. In October 2003, Campus Watch exposed Baker's presence at an event sponsored by the Muslim Student Association at the University of Pennsylvania. As Jonathan Calt Harris noted, "Baker's selection as speaker is bad enough, but the use of university funds to pay for it is a scandal; the Office of the Chaplain and the Office of the Vice Provost for University Life helped MSA come up with nearly $5,000 for the week-long program," part of which money went to pay for Baker. Our expose prompted press coverage, red faces and lots of denials but the talk went ahead as scheduled. On Jan. 3, 2004, Baker appeared at the Toronto conference and delivered a talk titled, "More in common than you think." The Star archly characterized his presentation this way: "During his panel, which was to explore common ground between Islam and Christianity, Baker criticized Israel's treatment of Palestinians and asked audience members if they were willing to stand up and demonstrate for the Palestinian people." We have some idea of the content of his talk because More in Common Than You Think: The Bridge Between Islam & Christianity also happens to be the title of Baker's 1998 book, which Stephen Schwartz characterizes as an attempt "to bring together fringe Christians and extremist Muslims." The Canadian Jewish Congress protested William W. Baker's presence, but the Toronto Star reports this in the softest possible way, stating only that the CJC alleged Baker "been connected with American groups with a racist agenda." The Star then provides this full-bodied but dubious quote from Jeewan Chanicka, the event's media-relations director: "We have no business being involved in inviting anyone who shares any agenda of hate and racism, because we don't find that to be anything within the realm of Islam or beliefs as Muslims, especially within the purpose of this conference, which is promoting a pluralistic Canadian society." It also bears noting that such big-time authority figures as Toronto mayor David Miller, Toronto police chief Julian Fantino and Royal Canadian Mounted Police commissioner Giuliano Zaccardelli participated in the "Reviving the Islamic Spirit" conference, thereby giving it and by implication, William W. "I never supported the views of Willis Carto," he wrote. "I was chairman of the Populist Party for a short time and publicly resigned due to infiltration from various racist individuals and organizations."
The printed Populist platform introduced at Baker's 1984 convention included states'-rights provisions that would allow states to restore segregation laws and repeal the public-accommodations sections of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The platform also expressed a clear intention to create Nazi-style Nuremberg Laws: "The Populist Party will not permit any racial minority, through control of the media, culture distortion or revolutionary political activity, to divide or factionalize [sic] the majority of the society-nation in which the minority lives."
In addition, evidence supplied by the Anti-Defamation League shows that Baker delivered a 1983 speech to the racist Christian Patriot Defense League in Licking, Missouri, in which he made several references to Carto's neo-Nazi newspaper, Spotlight. He also described his disgust at traveling to New York: "God help me. Why? 'Cause the first people I meet when I get off the plane are pushy, belligerent American Jews."
According to Baker's former website, CAMP is a Laguna Hills-based nonprofit organization, a legal status that allows donors to deduct contributions from income taxes. But according to the state Registrar of Nonprofit Corporations, CAMP is not registered as a nonprofit with the agency or with the state Franchise Tax Board. While Baker claimed graduate studies at Oxford and the "Near East Institute," he could only substantiate a bachelor's degree from Ozark Christian College
