Convicted Hamas Linked Elashi Brothers Deported To Gaza

July 18, 2012

July 18, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Props to Steven Emerson, a highly respected terrorism authority and proprietor of The Investigative Project, wherefrom he details a curious event involving Hamas linked and convicted felons, Bayan and Basman Elashi who were, in a very hush-hush manner recently deported, allegedly making a brief stop in Cairo, Egypt then moving on to Gaza - Hamas Central - where they were welcomed by their long-time partners in terror.

From IPT:
"The Investigative Project on Terrorism...confirmed that the men deported last week are Bayan and Basman Elashi...convicted felons tied to a terror-financing network based out of Dallas....another brother, Ghassan Elashi, was a founder and chairman of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), an American fundraising arm for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. The Elashi brothers also worked for Infocom, a webhosting company in Richardson Tex. Prosecutors say the company received $250,000 from Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook, who was indicted in the case...Bayan Elashi was Infocom's chief executive officer. Basman was its logistics and credit manager. In 2004, each was convicted of money laundering, export violations to Libya and Syria involving computer shipments and making false statements to federal officials. In a separate trial a year later, Bayan Elashi was convicted on 10 counts of dealing in the property of a Specially Designated Terrorist for transactions with Marzook, while Basman was convicted on one count... Bayan Elashi was sentenced to 84 months in prison, while Bayan was sentenced to 80 months..." [source, Exclusive: ADC's Misleading Sob Story on Elashi Brothers

Taking up the hue and cry here in the U.S. is one of the usual suspects, the American-Arab Anti Discrimination Committee [ADC] which is attempting to cast this event in a typical Islamist light, the stereotypical portrayal of an "Islamophobic" America, with the poor Elashi brothers, simply "stateless individuals," being the aggrieved party.
"...The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) expresses great concern and extreme disappointment over a decision made by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to deport two Palestinian nationals whom are deemed stateless. The brothers, originally from Gaza, were taken by ICE and the U.S. Air Marshalls from their children in Texas and sent to Egypt. The brothers do not have permission to stay in Egypt. Further, due to the blockade of Gaza and Israeli polices they cannot enter Palestine. The brothers are currently detained at the airport in Cairo, and appear likely to l be detained indefinitely..." [source, ADC Expresses Extreme Disappointment over DHS Decision to Deport Stateless Palestinians]

Despite ADC's claims, the Elashis were apparently welcomed into Gaza this past Saturday. Additionally, nowhere in this presser, as observes Mr. Emerson, is the real story surrounding the Elashis revealed. For all we would know from the statement these two gentlemen were just strolling down the avenue on their way to help out at the local Jewish home for the aged when the Feds spotted them, quickly identified them as Muslims and then in an extra-constitutional action, gave them an all-expenses-paid, one-way ticket to the Middle East, courtesy of Uncle Sam.

ADC's deception in this regard appears to be intentional, with Abed Ayoub, the organization's legal director registering, "extreme disappointment at the actions of DHS. The actions of DHS and ICE are alarming, troubling, and intolerable. ADC has demanded, and will continue to demand, a clear explanation as to why these brothers were deported..."

It's incomprehensible that Ayoub would be ignorant of the Elashis' role in domestic support for Hamas.

If it wasn't such a serious matter, the circus surrounding this affair would be amusing. The event does however provide an important perspective in helping to reveal the American Islamist fifth column's MO.

In the extant case, the ADC seems perfectly comfortable engaging in what appears to be intentional dissembling in order to front for these convicted thugs. Perhaps more telling, the ADC blames the "brothers" detainment on the "Israeli polices [sic]" and its sinister blockade of the Hamas controlled, rocket happy, terrorist entity Gaza. In ADC's twisted world, Jew hatred is almost always in full view.

To be sure ADC's oafish defense is one part hubris combined with a level of disingenuousness all too common in such matters, however we expect nothing less from these folks and their co-religionist brethren.
