May 28, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Hill is reporting widespread fear and deep concern among DC's foreign policy elite, including the WH and Congress over the direction the ongoing Egyptian elections are taking.
"U.S. leaders are deeply troubled by the possibility that the Islamist party could roll back religious and women's rights and break ties with Israel if it takes the presidency after winning almost half the seats in Parliament. But they're also wary of ending up on the wrong side of history as democratic upheaval upends the Middle East." At the same time the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is doubling down on stupid, still clinging to the idea that democracy with an Islamic flavor in any way equates to the governance enjoyed by the West - one democratically elected by a literate, liberal [in the classic sense], freedom loving people who empower their governments with only specified limited powers and though drawing inspiration from traditional Judeo-Christian principles yet manages to remain largely secular in nature.
"We look forward to working with Egypt's democratically elected government," Clinton said. "We will continue to stand with the Egyptian people as they work to seize the promise of last year's uprising and build a democracy that reflects their values and traditions, respects universal human rights, and meets their aspirations for dignity and a better life."
Pardon me, but isn't this the same administration whose leader has travelled the globe berating his own country as being deeply flawed, hegemonic and colonial in nature, while bowing and fawning to every tin-horn Muslim bigot and dictator in sight?
Isn't this the same Barack Obama who made his first major address on matters pertaining to the Muslim world, in Cairo at al-Azhar University, the institution which has trained Sunni radicals for a millennia, remains a Muslim Brotherhood stronghold and the doctrinal black hole from which al Qaeda was launched? Is this not the man who proclaimed in that dreadful apologia on June 6, 2009, "More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations. Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam. Violent extremists have exploited these tensions in a small but potent minority of Muslims." I'm sorry, but I am not buying this, because it was the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama who along with his court jester cohorts at the State Department [read Hillary Clinton and State's Arabists] almost singlehandedly destabilized the Middle East, pulling the rug out from under our long time ally, then Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak while mugging the only democracy in the ME, Israel, ignoring the soon-to-become nuclear Iran all capped by his crowning achievement - after the expending over 5,000 American servicemen, ignominiously surrendering to the jihadists in Iraq and now Afghanistan.
This is not a surprise, it's a natural consequence of a delusional man pushing his own grudge against America down the hungry throats of people all too eager to slit ours. Nope, Mr. Obama, you and your Quisling democrat party made this mess and it has as your father figure, Rev. Wright is fond of intoning, "come home to roost."
Scrape it off your shoes and deal with it.
