That is a rather odd claims for a group whose motto is "Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." But it has been actions, not words which have distinguished the Muslim Brotherhood. Since its founding in 1928, the ideology [Islamic supremacy established through jihad] developed by the MB's founder Hasan al-Banna and the group's chief theoretician Sayyid Qutb, ignited and then carefully stoked the phenomenon of modern Islamic terrorism, serving as the inspiration for al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups. The Brotherhood has never refrained from using violence to gain political traction, assassinating Egypt's prime minister Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi in 1948 and splinter group members murdering president Anwar Sadat in 1981 after he signed a peace treaty with Israel. Of no little concern, the Muslim Brotherhood also created Hamas, designated as an international terrorist organization by most of the West, including the United States. It has been estimated that the group has been responsible for roughly 7,000 killings since it was formed. The Brotherhood has established chapters in over 100 countries and is represented in the United States by numerous front groups which have successfully conned the American media into believing they don't represent a national security threat. So we are left with a choice, are we to believe the MB's chest thumping claims of non-violence or should we believe the historical record of its bloody actions, which casts the Ikhwan as one of the deadliest movements in the world today? ©2012 PipeLineNews.org LLC.
