CAIR PA Reports Critics To Police As Potential Threats

February 14 2011- Militant Islam Monitor-The Council on American Islamic Relations in Philadelphia has been condemning and trying to silence commentator and talk show host Aaron Proctor who has been critical of their organization. Proctor's show was "temporarily suspended" as a result of CAIR's libel complaints. This is in accordance with CAIR's MO of trying to silence their critics using intimidation and legal lawfare. CAIR levels accusations of hate speech and hate crimes against anyone who dares to speak out against them or Islamism.

CAIR is also notorious for proclaiming that a large amount of hate crimes against Muslims are taking place in the United States. Their claims are contradicted by the FBI's recent release of hate crime statistics which shows that Jews are the main targets of hate crimes in the United States. (See links below).

According to an article on the CAIR PA website they are reporting Mr. Proctor "and others" to the police:

"Mr. Proctor's speech is eerily similar to those who have committed hate crimes against Muslim Americans in recent months. As a precaution, CAIR-Philadelphia will be notifying local police of the possibility that Mr. Proctor and others will be a security threat to our annual banquet. We are particularly concerned as many families with children plan to attend. We appreciate that he has provided a picture on Examiner.com." http://pa.cair.com/news/banquet-attacks/

"CAIR: Congressman Pat Meehan Makes A Statement"

Republican Congressman Pat Meehan (PA-07) sent the Philadelphia Libertarian Examiner a statement about the CAIR situation yesterday via e-mail through his press secretary, Maureen Keith:

"It is my understanding that this event has taken place annually over the past several years. While I would never deny any group their Constitutional right to peacefully assemble, I have major concerns about the meeting's featured speakers. The event is sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group which the FBI severed ties with in 2009 after CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial regarding the funding of terrorist organizations. The FBI also ‘does not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner.'

"In addition, CAIR has recently made a series of statements accusing the FBI of falsely entrapping Muslim-Americans and advocating that Muslims not cooperate with law enforcement and the FBI. As recently as last month, CAIR had a poster on its website which encouraged Muslim-Americans not to talk to the FBI. As a former U.S. Attorney, I am extremely concerned about the message that this kind of rhetoric sends to the community.

"I am extremely concerned about one of the event's featured speakers, Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, who is the Director of Community Outreach for the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia. Anwar al-Awlaki, who is now considered to be one of the biggest threats to U.S. national security, was closely associated with the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center before he fled to Yemen. Moreover, 9/11 hijackers Hawaf al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour worshipped at that center. Mr. Abdul-Malik himself has made a number of inflammatory statements against the nation of Israel, which I condemn in the strongest terms."

We are pleased at Mr. Meehan's response and hope that he joins the voices on many in condemning this organization and their event.
