Since its inception in 1928 the Muslim Brotherhood has sought to topple the Egyptian government. As a result it has been suppressed, often violently, throughout its history, with varying degrees of success. The group's goal is to replace Mubarak's quasi-secular administration with a hard line Wahhabist theocracy. For tactical reasons the MB "renounced" violence in the 70s, feeling [so far proven correct] that its ultimate goal of re-establishing the Caliphate could be better achieved through internal subversion, working especially with outside NGOs who have been pushing for "democracy," knowing that "free" elections will rapidly result in a totalitarian Muslim state on the principle of, "one man, one vote, one time." This is the identical game plan being followed by the Muslim Brotherhood and its numerous front groups in the West; one which has been remarkably effective, especially in a PR sense, since 911. Despite the group's masking of its true intent, its purpose remains the same; a commitment to toppling Western and less severely Shari'a influenced Middle Eastern governments by any means possible. It is not happenstance that the MB's motto remains, "God is our purpose, the Prophet our leader, the Qur'an our constitution, Jihad our way and dying for God's cause our supreme objective." © 2011 PipeLineNews.org LLC.
