FOX NEWS WORKS TO LEGITIMIZE HAMAS-RELATED GROUP… AGAIN

MEGYN KELLY FEATURES CAIR'S IBRAHIM HOOPER ON HER SHOW WITHOUT CHALLENGE TO HIS GROUP'S TERROR TIES

(New York, NY) On Thursday, October 21st, during her show on Fox News, Megyn Kelly had as a guest the National Communications Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Ibrahim Hooper, to discuss the firing of Juan Williams from National Public Radio (NPR).

Hooper has been involved with CAIR as one of the group's top leaders, since CAIR was established in 1994.

According to documents filed by the U.S. Justice Department, CAIR was founded in June 1994 as being a part of the American Palestine Committee, a group then led by the global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. At the time, Hamas was conducting a number of terrorist operations against innocent Israelis.

Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, CAIR instructed its website viewers to donate money to Hamas's American financing wing, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), which was also part of Marzook's committee. As well, CAIR told its web viewers to give money to the Global Relief Foundation (GRF), an al-Qaeda financier. Both HLF and GRF were shut down by the U.S. government in December 2001.

During Megyn Kelly's show, not one of these facts was mentioned by her. This, while Hooper's segment lasted nearly eleven minutes.

The segment discussed the firing of Juan Williams from NPR, following Williams' statement about how he feels nervous about being a passenger on a plane with those who are dressed in Muslim garb. CAIR had placed pressure on NPR to take action against Williams.

Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH), stated, "It is due to the legitimacy that CAIR is gifted by Megyn Kelly and other Fox News show hosts that has contributed to the power CAIR wields when it attempts to get someone like Juan Williams fired. If Megyn Kelly and Fox were truly concerned about what happened to Williams, their colleague, they would stop giving a national platform to this group that the U.S. government claims has significant ties to terrorism."
