THE ASSOCIATED PRESS/KHALID MOHAMMED |
The charred body of an American hangs from a bridge over the Euphrates River on Wednesday as Iraqis chant anti-American slogans in Fallujah. |
Men with scarves over their faces hurled bricks into the blazing vehicles. A group of boys yanked a smoldering corpse into the street and ripped it apart. Someone then tied a chunk of flesh to a rock and tossed it over a telephone wire.
"Viva mujahedeen!" shouted Said Khalaf, a taxi driver. "Long live the resistance!"
Nearby, a boy no older than 10 ground his heel into a burned head.
"Where is Bush?" the little boy yelled. "Let him come here and see this!"
Masked men gathered around him, punching their fists into the air. The streets filled with hundreds of people.
"Fallujah is the cemetery of Americans!" they chanted.
... A crowd of more than 300 people flooded the streets. Men swarmed around the riddled vehicles. Some witnesses said the Americans were still alive when one boy came running up with a jug of gasoline. Soon, both vehicles were fireballs.
After the fires cooled, a group of boys tore the corpses out of the vehicles. The crowd cheered them on. The boys dragged two of the blackened bodies to the iron bridge over the Euphrates River, about a mile away.
Townspeople hung the bodies over the water. "They were throwing stones and beating them with sticks," said Ghanem Khuweilid Halbusi, 33, who sells cigarettes near the bridge. Then the bodies were cut down, placed atop a pile of tires and set afire, he said.
At about 2 p.m., a cart pulled by a gray donkey dragged the corpses back from the riverbank. About 70 people followed the cart, shouting shwaretek -- a word in colloquial Iraqi Arabic that is used to question someone's nerve. "What makes you come here, Bush, and mess with the people of Fallujah?" they chanted.
The cart traveled back toward the scene of the attack, dropping the corpses in front of the municipal building.
A short while later, a man driving a battered white Toyota Corona attached the corpses to his rear bumper and drove away.

Dear Friends,
I've been able to locate 4 of the students who we worked with on the
dialogue exchange: Haider, Hamza, Walid & Majed. All are very
enthusiastic about starting a newspaper & setting up something like
indymedia baghdad.
Over the next few days, we are going to: - locate a house to rent,
that can serve as an office for the project, as well as office/living
space for VitW & friends here in Iraq.
- compile a list of equipment we have on hand (computers, printers,
cameras, office supplies, etc...)
- compile a list of equipment we *need* (computers, printers,
cameras, office supplies, etc... LOL)
- locate a printing company that can print 10,000 copies a week, of
an Arabic/English newspaper that we are going to start.
We NEED from you:
- MONEY: start raising $$$ *NOW* - this project is going to need
money to pay for rent, equipment, printing costs, and web costs,
ASAP!!! We will work toward making it self-sufficient as soon as
possible, but that, for sure, ain't right now! Voices is sending a
small group of people here (one in a week, a couple of more soon
after) - so we need to send in money & equipment with them.
- EQUIPMENT: for a fact, I *KNOW* that we're going to need at least 2
more computers, 1 more office printer, 2 broadcast-quality video
cameras, and 2 digital cameras. Another satellite modem & satellite
phone would be nice too (as well as $$$ to cover the costs of the
current sat modem over the next, several months).
- WEB HELP: we need help, from the outside, on setting up a website
for the newspaper and/or indymedia Baghdad, where we can post text,
pictures, & video produced here - English *AND* Arabic. Some of these
kids are very web savvy, but the infrastructure is NOT in place for
them to start doing web work from here right now. The war took out
telecommunications in a *big* way - certainly for weeks, likely for
months.
I (we, I hope!) are going to help out with advice, training,
equipment & money - but this is going to be an Iraqi project, from
top to bottom. These folks can finally speak for themselves - let's
help them do that!
Please let me know how all of you can help, ASAP! Let's roll... Love,
Ramzi

The Iraqi Solidarity Network is connected to the Socialist Arab Coalition in North America which was founded by Ibrahim Alloush from Lebanon who "edits" the "Free Arab Voice".
On the SAC website is an essay entitled : " Falujah is the symbol and states that : "Al Falujah is a prime example for the liberation of Iraq"".
There is no doubt that the people behind the SAC and the IRN are actively helping to promote the carnage which is pictured above . Their websites need to be shut down immediately as do the offices of Indymedia in Iraq. Below more information on the SAC website based in Utah. MIM

Palestinian-Israeli Cyberwar comes to Logan UTAH.
A website openly advocating killing Jews, and TOS'd (removed Terms of Service violation) from it's former ISP in New Jersey has surfaced again at a small ISP in Providence Utah (near Logan).
Internet Haganah, a site dedicated to "Confronting Islamist Terrorism and its Supporters Online" is suggesting that those who disagree that suicide or homicide bombing is a legitimate form of political expression exercise their freedom of speech and write a polite letter to the ISP and ask them to remove the site.
