Loretta Sanchez - CAIR's congresswoman: Support for 'moderate friends of terror' and Hispano facist MECha - aka 'My race first'

Sisters Loretta and Lynn Sanchez accused of voter fraud and recruiting illegals to go to the polls
January 26, 2006

Lynn and Loretta Sanchez - CAIR's Rep and advocates in Congress accused of using illegals for votes - sister runs Orange County Labor Council and is accused and is accused of bartering union cards for green cards Both the sisters notion of civil rights which translated means "my race first". In order to procure the Hispanic vote Loretta Brixey reverted to her maiden name of Loretta Sanchez. Both sisters are regulars at CAIR events - and their picture appears together with those of other radical Islamists who have been helped to promote their agenda through the unceasing efforts of the Sanchez sisters.

Perhaps the advantage of being seen as a useful idiot (rather then just the latter), explains Sanchez's preoccupation with Muslim causes, and explains why, when asked about Social Security- she replied:'I've more important things to ask about than this silly Social Security thing.." http://ace.mu.nu/archives/077403.php

MIM: Besides advocating for CAIR - ths Saudi funded front group for Hamas - Sanchez also supports the MECha movement whose slogan is ;

"For the race everything. For those outside the race, nothing".

MECha is the student wing of the virulently anti semitic suicide bombing supporting Hispano facist group - the Voz de Aztlan.http://www.aztlan.net/women_martyrs.htm

In 2003 Sanchez stated that : "I can understand why nobody is stepping away," she said. "There's nothing to be ashamed of. To do that would be to deny MEChA is doing a good job." Indeed - one wonders how much the group may have done to secure the less then 1,000 votes which ousted her Republican rival.

The association with MECha's seems to have helped Antonio Villagairoisa, who became the mayor of Los Angeles in 2005. He was praised by the group for "not stepping away" and his victory was heralded as the beginning of the end of the white presence in California . http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/1233

" La Voz de Aztlan compliments Antonio Villaraigosa for never repudiating MEChA under the intense pressure exerted by the English language media..."

The example set by Cruz Bustamante is noble and Antonio Villaraigosa is to be commended for his courageous resistance. On Tuesday, flags may be flying and autos seen with bumper stickers saying, "Los Angeles Today, Alta California Tomorrow". God Bless Aztlan! http://www.aztlan.net/alcalde_de_los_angeles.htm

Calif. congressional candidate accused of registering twice
Republican congressional candidate Tim Escobar on Tuesday accused his Democratic opponent, Linda Sanchez, of being registered to vote in two separate districts. -- At a news conference at the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office in Norwalk, Escobar released public documents he said showed that during the November 2000 election Sanchez voted in Orange County while living and also being registered to vote in neighboring Los Angeles County. -- Escobar called for an investigation into possible election code violations and false claims. -- (Linda Sanchez's sister's campaign [Loretta Sanchez], deeply involved with reconquista organization Hermadad Mexicana Nacional, had a bit of a problem with vote fraud issues not long ago.) "...Tens of millions of taxpayer dollars have reportedly been lavished on a non-profit, tax-exempt, California outfit known as Hermandad Mexicana Nacional -- Mexican National Brotherhood -- which it turned around and used to register noncitizens and illegal aliens in Orange County. Observers say Hermandad would probably have continued to escape legal scrutiny had it not wound up in the middle of the disputed 46th Congressional District race between Rep. Bob Dornan (R) and Loretta Sanchez (D) -- who supposedly defeated Dornan by a margin of just 979 votes..." http://www.ncpa.org/~ncpa/pd/govern/april97a.html " Ira Mehlman - Funding Fraud - National Review http://www.americanpatrol.com/_WEB2002/021016Web.html

MIM: Sanchez and her sister are considered the best friends of Islamists in California. Both expoit their political connections to further CAIR, MPAC, and radical Islamist groups agenda on social, political, and educational. Given the frequency and high profile of the Sanchez sisters in CAIR sponsored events one has to wonder how much the Saudi funded groups and their members are contributing to the Sanchez's political coffers.

MIM: One writer who cited Democrats who helped CAIR mentioned that Representative Meeks had second thoughts about his participation with a group which condoned suicide bombing. Obviously such details do not trouble Sanchez. ",,,Kucinich apparently is no stranger to CAIR or to offering his aid and comfort to them. Recently Kucinich attended a Ramadan iftar, or fast breaking, on Capitol Hill hosted Democrat John Conyers of Michigan. Other leading Democrats co-sponsoring this event included Barbara Lee of California, Gregory Meeks of New York, and Loretta Sanchez of California.

To his credit Rep. Meeks has since re-thought his sponsorship of this event telling the New York Sun: "I do not want to be associated with anyone who condones suicide bombers, anti-Semitism or condones the extremes in Islam." Good for Rep. Meeks. But what of his fellow Democrats?
Where is their re-thinking of their support of CAIR? Where is there realization that they are offering aid to the enemies of America? Do they not know we are currently engaged in a life or death struggle with terrorists?..."

1800 TURN OUT FOR CAIR-LA DINNER

(LOS ANGELES, CA, 9/18/05) - More than 1,800 people turned out Saturday night for the annual banquet of CAIR's Los Angeles office (CAIR-LA) at the Anaheim Convention Center. Professor M. Cherif Bassiouni of DePaul University offered the keynote address at the event. Other event highlights included a speech by CAIR National Board Chairman Parvez Ahmed and an award presentation to the stars of FX Networks' "30 Days." Earlier this year, that program featured a West Virginia man who lived as a Muslim for a month.

Banquet attendees also included interfaith leaders as well as a number of local, state and national law enforcement authorities and elected officials, including Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca and Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona.

Numerous candidates from the various local races told the community that their voices were greatly needed in our political system. They urged the community to continue playing an important role and to challenge attempts to exclude our community. With the exception of the Bush campaign, all major presidential campaigns were present, with representatives from the John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, Howard Dean, and Green party campaigns. Mr. Ralph Nader, who had announced his candidacy on that day, called in to the meeting. Mr. Nader criticized the administration for misleading the American people into a senseless war with Iraq and eroding civil liberties with the Patriot Act. Representatives from state and local races from Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties also spoke to the community. The many candidates from the various races included Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D- 47th), Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (D-39th), Assemblyman Lou Correa, Councilman Mark Leyes, assembly candidates Dave Silva and Kermit Marsh, Congressional candidates Cynthia Matthews, Vicki Johnson and Judge Jim Gray, and Mayor pro tem of Garden Grove, Van Tran.

Anaheim: The Seventh Annual Fundraiser Banquet of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) at the spacious Anaheim Convention Center ballroom on October 4, 2003 had one singular message for the 1600-strong assemblage of Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists: the ideals of freedom and justice for all enshrined in the American Constitution are still cherished by mainstream Americans. They are keen to see that Muslim Americans, presently under a cloud, are treated at par with other citizens of the USA.

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Democrat, declared in unequivocal terms: "I am opposed to the Patriot Act." To the applause of the gathering, she remarked: "We need to work on our two Senators so that Patriot Act I is rescinded and Patriot Act II is not passed." She enumerated the laws, values and traditions that have contributed to the just, free and vibrant American society. The trend should continue. The momentum should be sustained. Congresswoman Sanchez "saw lot of hope" and appeared optimistic that through sustained strivings "we will be the bright light of the United States."

MIM: Loretta Sanchez helped organise a Capitol HIl Iftar dinner together with CAIR

http://www.masnet.org/masnews.asp?id=669 2003 Iftar Dinner organised by CAIR with MAS WASHINGTON, Nov 12 - ...

WASHINGTON, Nov 12 - The United States House of Representatives and leaders of the American Muslim community held a Ramadan Iftar (breaking fast) on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

Representative John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), along with several other House members, welcomed guests, including representatives of the Muslim American Society (MAS)'s Freedom Foundation, by reaffirming the importance of communities joining in the cause of establishing religious tolerance, saying that, "America is still a melting pot; a nation of immigrants.

"The Islamic religion is one of the three great Abrahamic faiths; promoting peace and unity, in addition to being the fastest growing religion in the U.S. today," he affirmed.

Conyers assured guests that the representatives hosting the Iftar dinner would continue to work towards making improvements on the Hate Crimes Bill, making it easier for federal law enforcement agencies to prosecute people who commit hate crimes against Arabs, Muslims, and mosques.

Conyers stated that since "September 11, 2001, people of Arabic descent have been harassed, assaulted, attacked, and arrested because of the great gulf between cultures," and that it would be their goal to strengthen the legislation, and make all activities under the "un-Patriotic Act" unlawful, asserting, "You cannot fight terrorism by applying unconstitutional tactics."

Conyers thanked the Council on American-Islamic relations (CAIR) for their work in coordinating the event, and then announced, "I celebrate this evening with you!" In closing, Conyers assured members of the American Muslim community that legislative and political developments needed to achieve the fight for religious tolerance would continue. Along with Conyers, the Iftar was co-hosted by House members Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), and Barbara Lee (D-CA). Representing the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation at the event were Outreach Coordinator Sherifa Rafiq and Administrative Director Aishah Schwartz.

CAIR urges Congress to recognise Ramadan "....At least one elected official, Meeks, had second thoughts about participating in the CAIR event. When questioned about his attendance at a CAIR dinner, he told the New York Sun: "I don't want to be associated with anyone who condones suicide bombers, anti-Semitism, or any group that condones the extremism in Islam." He added, "I'm going to do some checking into this right now. I am going to talk to some of my colleagues, particularly some of my Jewish colleagues..." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp

Representatives of the people have access to the same information that is readily available to all Americans and they conclude that there is nothing wrong with attending events by an Islamist-terror supporting group? How is it possible that these representatives are so ignorant of the threat posed by CAIR and the Islamist terrorists they support? What could possibly induce these representatives to sit down with Islamist terrorism supporters?

Anaheim:

As part of her effort to better acquaint herself with the Muslim community, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-46th) recently visited the Southern California office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) based in Anaheim. Accompanying the Congresswoman were community activists Haithem Budakdji and Belal Dalati along with the Congresswoman's Field Representative, Mitzi Mak. The visit was part of Congresswoman Sanchez's outreach to all community members, including Muslims, in her district. During her visit, the Congresswoman learned more about the needs and concerns of American Muslims. She promised to continue working on addressing the community's concerns. She also emphasized the importance of the community's participation in the political system as a step toward positive change.
At the end of her meeting, Hussam Ayloush, Executive Director of CAIR-LA, gave Congresswoman Sanchez an overview of CAIR's work, activities and future plans. He briefed her on CAIR-LA's recent projects, including the Library Project, Billboard Campaign, and Voter Registration Drive.
The Congresswoman was also given a tour of the CAIR office and was introduced to members of CAIR's staff and interns. "It is important for our community to continue being involved in the political process by voting and getting to know their representatives to affect positive change for our society," said Ayloush.

MIM: Loretta Sanchez has also courted MPAC and participated in their obscene attempt to use the London bombings to portray Muslims as the potential victims of a non existent backlash and whip up liberal hysteria that Muslims could be targetted although there had been no noticeable aggression against Muslims in the UK where the bombing took place.

MPAC made Muslims appear to be the victims instead of perpetrators, and instead of offering condolences to the victims of the attacks they met to offer support for backlash victims!

Almost no acts of agression were directed against Muslims after theUK bombings in London or elsewhere. MPAC brazenly attempted to make even the possibility that Muslims could be targetted into an issue - (which had no basis in reality) and urged religious leaders and law enforcement in the United States to "do what they can to prevent a backlash against Muslims" making sure to have maximum media coverage - and make it appear that Muslims were in fact being threatened when the opposite was the case.

True to the Islamist playbook, MPAC made the most of their press conference to find new ways of bringing Islam to the attention of the American public and making the fictitious threat of a possible backlash into an excuse for Muslims to claim discrimination and victimisation.

MPAC Offers Support for Backlash Victims
Friday, July 08, 2005
In a press conference with interfaith leaders and law enforcement officials held in Los Angeles today, officials from national American Muslim organizations demonstrated their united stand against terrorism and interfaith leaders encouraged members of all faith communities to do what they can to prevent a backlash against American Muslims.
Los Angeles -- "Any individual or group that claims that these heinous actions serve as a redress for legitimate grievances is dreadfully mistaken," said Communications Director Edina Lekovic. "American Muslims are doing everything in our power to protect our mosques, our communities and our nation."

Other speakers at the press conference included Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Chairman of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California and Chairman of the Council of Islamic Jurisprudence of North America; Hussam Ayloush, Executive Director, Council on American-Islamic Relations - Southern California; the Reverend Dennis Short, Harbor Christian Church; the Reverend Bishop Murray D. Finck, Pacifica Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA); Rusty Kennedy, Executive Director, Orange County Human Relations Commission; the Reverend Kay Sylvester, St. Paul's Episcopal Church; the Reverend Peggy Price, President, Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council, Church of Religious Science (retired); and the Reverend Fr. Ed Poettgen, Immaculate Heart Catholic Church.

Attendees present at the conference included captains from the Orange County Sheriff Department and representatives from the FBI and the office of Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.

MPAC also contacted British law enforcement officials, who recently traveled to the U.S. to learn more about MPAC's National Grassroots Campaign to Fight Terrorism. Since May 2004, over 600 mosques have endorsed the Campaign as a demonstration of what American Muslims are doing to protect their mosques, their communities, and their nation. MUSLIMS AND ARABS SEEK NEW PROFILE
Stanley Allison, Los Angeles Times, 6/6/04
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-ocarab6jun06,1,5532624.story

ANAHEIM- Saying that they have been ignored or smeared by stereotypical
images for years, more than 50 leaders in Anaheim's Arab American and
American Muslim communities met Saturday to promote their contributions to
the city's diversity.

"The city has done a poor job of reaching out to ethnic groups," said City
Councilman Richard Chavez, who sponsored the gathering.

"There wasn't the political will to learn about their culture and the
benefit they bring to the city."

Saturday's exchange, he said, could be a step toward changing that.

"This is a start," Chavez said. "These meetings will empower the community
itself to take a leadership role."

The gathering was organized by Nahla Kayali, founding director of Access
California Services, a resource center that serves Anaheim's Arabs and
Muslims. She and others said they were encouraged that Chavez, Orange
County Supervisor Chris Norby, and Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Anaheim) stopped
by to offer support.

Both Arabs and Muslims must "get involved in the American way of life,"
said Nadia Saad Bettendorf, an educator and a commissioner with the Orange
County Human Relations Commission..

"If we don't build coalitions, we are not going to succeed," she said. "If
we don't talk about ourselves, we are not going to succeed.

"We have to stop ... saying they are against us."

MIM: Sanchez claims she was not a member of MECha which is the student wing of th Vo de Atzlan. She did call it a good organisation and stated that she could not imagine any aspiring politician distancing themselves from it- after a controversy erupted during the campaign of Cruz Bustament.

The Voz de Aztlan group is viciously anti semitic and anti Israel. MecHa / Voz de Aztlan have a website which is identical to the Radio Islam "the mother of all anti semitic websites". The Voz de Atzlan has a "Palestinian woman suicide bomber gallery on their website. http://www.aztlan.net/women_martyrs.htm

MIM: According to Discover the Network:

"...La Voz de Aztlán (The Voice of Aztlán) is the Internet publication, or webzine, of the Nation of Aztlán, a secessionist organization based in Whittier, California. The organization's chief objective, as reflected in La Voz de Aztlán (henceforth, La Voz), is the formation of a country named Aztlán, which would be composed of present-day Mexico, parts of Oklahoma, and the entirety of Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. According to La Voz and the group that established it, "Aztlán" was the name of the Aztec homeland that supposedly existed in Mexico and the Southwestern United States prior to the Spanish conquest of 1519. The group now seeks to recapture this territory that it claims was "stolen" by white America. But in point of fact, the American Southwest was not stolen from Mexico. Following the Mexican-American War, the Mexican government legally ceded this territory to the United States in 1848. Nor has a place called "Aztlán" ever existed; it was the invention of radical Latino activists in the early 1970s.

La Voz, which launched its operations on January 1, 2000, is managed and edited by Hector Carreon, an engineer by training and a former member of the radical Brown Berets. Carreon is also the founder and current leader of the Nation of Aztlán. Other La Voz staff writers include Miroslava Flores and Ernesto Cienfuegos. The publication has earned a reputation for its virulent hatred of whites, Jews, the United States, and Israel. Its articles commonly make reference to "La Raza" ("The Race"), a broad term signifying those whose ancestry is indigenous to the area of Mexico (or "Aztlán"), so as to distinguish them from the aforementioned targets of their antipathy - whites in general (and Jews in particular)..."

MIM:On the homepage of the Aztlan website is an article gloating about how Antonio Villagroisa's election to mayor of LA is the first step to achieving the Hispanisation of California. Villagroisa is a supporter of Sanchez and vice versa. (see excerpt from speech below where he gloats about her defeat of an"arch conservative" Antonio Villagaroisa .

Alcade des Los Angeles? 2005

by
Hector Carreon

La Voz de Aztlan Los Angeles, Alta California - May 13, 2005 - (ACN) "EL Pueblo de Nuestra Seńora La Reina de Los Angeles" may again have a mayor (alcalde) of Mexican descent after more than 133 years. Antonio Villaraigosa, a former student leader of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), may take over the mayor's office of the second largest city in the country on Tuesday. .." The election of Antonio Villaraigosa will have national significance. Mexican-Americans are the fastest growing ethnic group in the US and Latinos as a whole now make the largest minority. In Los Angeles, a left-labor coalition reigns king in politics and is a model now being used in other regions of the southwest. Labor, composed of large numbers of Mexican-Americans, will transform the political landscape of the southwest. Also, an aging and unproductive white population is a major factor in the ongoing transformation. The white population, primarily paper-pushers, are loosing their grip on political power. One perfect example within this element are some white hate radio jocks who make a living by using their mouths to blurt ethnic hate. They produce nothing concrete of value. They produce no food, shelter, or clothing but only pollute the airwaves with their broadcasts. A large and vigorous turnout of Labor on Tuesday will assure the election of Antonio Villaraigosa. La Voz de Aztlan compliments Antonio Villaraigosa for never repudiating MEChA under the intense pressure exerted by the English language media.

Sanchez thinks MECha is "doing a good job" and had one of their 'activist' members intern for her in DC. in 2003. She was praised by Antonio Villagaroisa Mayor of LA who is the former chair of MEcHa for defeating "arch conservative" Bob Dornan. Sanchez won by less then 1000 votes and their is evidence that many of the voters were illegal and she herself committed voter fraud. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., said she was never a member but supported the organization. "I can understand why nobody is stepping away," she said. "There's nothing to be ashamed of. MIM: Antonio Villagaraigoisa praised Sanchez in a speech and crowed that hse had defeated what he called "arch conservative" and "hate monger:". Both Villagaroisa and Sanchez's involvement with MECha, a group whose slogan is 'Our race first' and advocates ridding California of all white people must consider that platform a legitmate expression of Hispanic rights . MECha is the student wing of Voz de Aztlan , which has a photo galler page glorifying women suicide bombers on their website. "The California Coalition for Immigration Reform (CCIR) produced a CD with excerpts of radical, racist speeches by fifteen Latino elected officials, professors, students and community activists, with additional comments by Congressman Tom Tancredo, L.A. Talk Show Host Larry Elder, former CA Governor Gray Davis -- ending with disturbing chants by MEChA students. [You may download each individual clip in mp3 format. 9) Antonio Villaraigosa, Chair of MEChA (student wing of Aztlan movement) at UCLA, former CA assemblymember, former CA Assembly speaker, currently Los Angeles City Councilman at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference in Los Angeles, 6/1997
"Part of today's reality has been propositions like 187 (to deny public benefits to illegal aliens, 1994), propositions like 209 (to abolish affirmative action, 1996), the welfare reform bill, which targeted legal immigrants and targeted us as a community. That's been the midnight. We know that the sunny side of midnight has been the election of a Latino speaker - was the election of Loretta Sanchez, against an arch-conservative, reactionary hate-mongering politician like Congressman Dornan! Today in California in the legislature, we're engaged in a great debate, where not only were we talking about denying education to the children of undocumented workers, but now we're talking about whether or not we should provide prenatal care to undocumented mothers. It's not enough to elect Latino leadership. If they're supporting legislation that denies the undocumented driver's licenses, they don't belong in office, friends. They don't belong here. If they can't stand up and say, 'You know what? I'm not ever going to support a policy that denies prenatal care to the children of undocumented mothers', they don't belong here."

How the Sanchez sisters are using illegal immigrants for political gain Union Card for a Green Card "...The Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MECHA) distributes what would be called hate literature if it were handed out by other groups. "Mi Raza Primero" -- "my race first" -- reads one publication. MECHA is active on hundreds of high-school and college campuses. Its alumni include former California Assembly speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, a candidate for mayor of Los Angeles. He is on the record stating that as mayor he would not allow the police to be involved in immigration issues..." "Immigrants want jobs, but labor unions want new members, and the leftist militants now leading the movement want troops who can really "shut things down" to advance their class-struggle visions. Unions, shut out by middle-class Americans, are attempting to import a "new proletariat," and Los Angeles is ground-zero for their experiment. That dynamic promises to make California an ever more turbulent place in the years ahead. How much will California's government officials, beholden to unions for their electoral success, aid the union cause? One recent development worth noting is the appointment of Linda Sanchez to head the Orange County Central Labor Council. She is the sister of Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.), who defeated Republican Congressman Bob Dornan. Dornan took on Bert Corona's Hermandad Mexicana Nacional -- and lost. Are politics-led union organizing drives the wave of the future? http://www.americanpatrol.com/RECONQUISTA/NUNEZ-FABIAN/UnionCdGreenCd000800Nunez.html

Member of Mecha and Raza Youth movement interned for Sanchez in DC. "...My experience as an immigrant helped me to develop a sincere interest in helping the Latino community. At UC Irvine I became involved with Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA), a student organization that advances Latino representation in higher education through activism and outreach. In 2001 I served as donations chair for the Raza Youth Conference, contacting local businesses for financial support. I also became involved in student activism, focusing my work on immigrant rights. In January 2002 the efforts of students from across the state were rewarded when Assembly Bill 540 finally passed, allowing undocumented immigrants in California to pay in-state tuition. This was an especially personal victory for me.

My experiences and awareness as an activist helped me discover that I wanted to make real changes in society through public policy. For this reason, I decided to participate in UCI's Internship Program in the fall of 2002. I moved to Washington, D.C., for three months and interned for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, acquiring invaluable knowledge and first-hand experience in the policy-making process...."

MIM: Sanchez's arrogance and ignorance were highlighed in this exchange with Donald Rumsfeld. The ease with which he rebutted her accusations made her into objects of ridicule on the net. One blogger headlined an entire webpage "They don't come any dummer then Loretta' http://hansbricks.com/archives/2005/02/20/do-they-come-any-dummer-than-loretta/ Plane trip to DC: $469
Hotel stay for one night: $289
Cab fare to Capitol Building: $16

Watching Donald Rumsfeld put a whiny California liberal in her place: priceless

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1346497/posts http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110006315 Gotcha! (Or Maybe Not)
Blogger Joe Fairbanks notes a hilarious exchange between Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D., Calif.) and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. As the latter testified Wednesday before the House Armed Services Committee, the former tried but failed to catch him in a misstatement of fact:

Sanchez: Unfortunately, as I said, this committee has had a hard time assessing where we really stand with the Iraqi army as an effective fighting force. Over the past year, we've received incredibly widely fluctuating estimates of that. And I think you have a real credibility problem on this issue. Rumsfeld: Fluctuations of what? Sanchez: The fluctuations of--the numbers that you bandy around about how many troops we really have out there that are Iraqi police, et cetera, et cetera. . . . Rusmfeld: Now, you say we bandy around numbers. They're not my numbers. I don't invent them. They come from Gen. Petraeus. . . . Sanchez: I have Petraeus's numbers. They're different than your numbers, by the way. Rumsfeld: Well, what's the date? They aren't different because these came from Petraeus. He may have two sets of numbers, but they are not different if the date's the same. The date on my paper here is Feb. 14. What's yours? Sanchez: Dec. 20. Rumsfeld: Not surprising there's a difference.

Oh Dashers !

Sanchez charges ahead of herd fleeing Capitol

Since 9/11, Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Santa Ana, has said she spends as little time as possible in the Capitol. She goes to the floor to vote and high-tails it out of there, convinced it's still a target for terrorists. So when a small plane ventured into restricted D.C. airspace Wednesday and the chamber had to be evacuated, Sanchez wasted no time. She told The Buzz that even though she was one of the last to get out of the chamber, she was one of the first out of the building. She ran way ahead of her colleagues and was more than a block away while some were still making it down the stairs, showing that her daily workouts at the House gym have paid off. You don't have to tell that to one Boston congressman, who was so taken by Sanchez's speed that he recounted it to his local newspaper. Here's how Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a Democrat from South Boston, described Sanchez to the Boston Globe: "I saw Loretta Sanchez go screaming by at about a buck-eighty. There was some serious tension. It was alarming to see all those folks running at a dead run." Sanchez herself said she was "red streak" in her St. John knit suit. Of course the first thing she did was kick off her high heels.

MIM: Sanchez may get high marks from her friends at CAIR and MPAC but her role of useful idiot - but to many commentators, the latter word is the one that defines Sanchez .

".Moron: The Continuing Saga of Loretta Sanchez"

Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) Said She's Got "More Important Things To Ask About Than This Silly Social Security Thing."

"Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) managed to stir up some trouble last week at the Joint Economic Committee hearing chaired by Rep. Jim Saxton (R-N.J.). Testifying before the committee was Harvey Rosen, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. Sanchez was evidently fed up with the contents of the hearing. 'I've more important things to ask about than this silly Social Security thing,' she said." ("Capital Living," The Hill, 4/20/05)

Now, if I were a Democrat, or He Who Will Not Be Named (who is, I guess, a Democrat, noises to the contrary notwithstanding), I would react with outrage and possibly even feel heart-ache.

But I am not, in fact, an 80 year old proper lady in the antebellum South swooning upon seeing a fly in the sugar-jar, so I won't react with that sort of effeminate emotionalism. I'll just call her an unqualified jackass and be done with it.

From a partisan source I'm not supposed to be coordinating with.

But I'm not coordinating with them. I'm just lazy.

That's my defense.

MIM: As an equal opportunity Hispano supremacist Sanchez also agitates against Christian values.

On August 15, Rep. Loretta Sanchez is holding a Democratic fund-raiser at the Playboy Mansion; she is vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee, an appointment made by vice president Al Gore. Ironically, Rep. Sanchez, a Catholic, was quite vocal in denouncing George W. Bush's visit to Bob Jones University last winter; yet she is now orchestrating this event on a holy day of obligation for Catholics, the Feast of the Assumption.

On the February 13th edition of the NBC show, "Meet the Press," Sanchez said, "George W. Bush's failure to condemn the anti-Catholic views of Bob Jones University is offensive to Latinos." A week later, Bush's Bob Jones appearance was the subject of another attack by Sanchez: she was quoted in the Orange County Register as saying, "I am trying to let Hispanic Catholics understand that George Bush does not represent us well."

Catholic League president William Donohue took note of her hypocrisy:

"The Catholic League did not hesitate to criticize George W. Bush for his visit to Bob Jones University. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Catholic herself, had every right to do likewise. But to see her now leading a fund-raiser at the Playboy Mansion on the Feast of the Assumption is sickening: it shows how duplicitous she is and how insincere her objections to Bush really were. In short, she is playing politics with religion.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MIM: Sanchez's reputation as being "intellectually challenged" is a subject of commentary by bloggers.

She is also assailed for spending taxpayers money on frivolous trips, recruiting voters from Hispanic illegals and being funded by courting Saudi funded Islamist groups like CAIR.On a recent taxpayer funded trip to Bosnia she pandered to her Muslim constituency to visit a morgue in Bosnia in a belated attempt to score points in showing concern for the killing of Muslims.

http://talk.ocregister.com/showthread.php?t=11816

Who's running against Loretta Sanchez?

I'd even vote for the guy who's holding the gas can every weekend on the 5 freeway offramp at Main if he was running against her, but I'd at least like to check out the other options.

BTW....has anyone been to her website? It's as empty and useless as she is.

Town Hall Meeting in Southern California

Muslim Voices Needed in US Political System

By Sabiha Khan

Buena Park, CA: About 400 members of the Muslim American and Arab American communities came out to the Elections 2004 Town Hall Meeting held in Buena Park to hear from federal, state, and local candidates running in the primaries on March 2, 2004. The purpose of the event was to inform the community on the March 2nd California primaries and to motivate them to vote and become politically active.

The town hall meeting was co-organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations - Southern California (CAIR-LA), Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), American Muslim Alliance (AMA), Arab American Caucus-State Democratic Party, and the Arab American Republican Club of Orange County, and co-sponsored by dozens of groups including other Muslim, Iranian, Pakistani, Indian, and Arab-American organizations.

A section of the audience at the Town Hall Meeting

Several leaders of the Muslim and Arab communities spoke at the event. Hussam Ayloush, executive director of CAIR-LA, stressed the importance of why American Muslims and Arab Americans should vote. He listed the many reasons which include the slow economy, mistreatment of immigrants, erosion of civil rights and liberties, unchecked power of law enforcement and especially the disturbing close association of many of our political leaders with right-wing extremists who continually attack Islam and Muslims. He also stated that for many American Muslims and Arab Americans, our country's foreign policy is a top and valid concern, especially the situation in Palestine and the unjust war on Iraq.

Dr. Maher Hathout, Chairman of MPAC, spoke on the newly formed American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT). The AMT is designed to encourage community-based Muslim political participation and to defend against the erosion of civil liberties in a post-9/11 social environment. Other community leaders speaking at the town hall meeting were Salam Al-Marayati (MPAC), Dr. Talat Khan (AMA), Tareef Nashashibi (Arab American Republican Club of OC), Rima Nashashibi (Arab American Caucus-State Democratic Party), Ban Al-Wardi (ADC-LA/OC), and Imam Saadiq Saafir (Ilm Foundation and Islamic Shura Council of Southern California).

"Our community felt a sense of belonging and truly a part of the American political process", said Omar Zaki, Director of Governmental Relations for CAIR-LA. Zaki also applauded the sincerity and courage of public officials and candidates who attended the event and said, "It sent a clear message that marginalizing Muslims and Arabs is absolutely wrong and un-American."

The evening ended with keynote speaker Mr. Paul Findley, former congressman and author, urging the community to learn from America's history and never give up the struggle for peace and justice. He commended the collective work of the many groups that helped organize the successful event.

Was Bustamante Part of 'Mexican KKK'?

MIM: When stories started surfacing about the Hispano facist group MECha - Sanchez defended the group and it's member as 'a good organisation'.

http://www.kron.com/Global/story.asp?S=1429509

Posted: September 4, 2003 at 1:47 p.m.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- In 1975, a young Cruz Bustamante joined a student group at Fresno State College that advocated bold moves to empower Mexican-Americans.

Nearly 30 years later, with Bustamante a candidate for governor, he has come under fire from critics who say the organization agitated for a separate Chicano homeland in the United States.

State Sen. Tom McClintock, a conservative Republican rival, recently likened the Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan, also known as MEChA, to the Ku Klux Klan.

"It's like saying, `Oh, I was a moderate member of the Klan,"' McClintock said last month on the San Diego radio station KOGO. "It's incumbent on Cruz Bustamante to clearly and completely renounce the organization and its tactics and its views."

Bustamante, the lieutenant governor, is hardly the first public official to have his youthful politics come back to haunt him. Former President Clinton and President Bush both had to defend themselves against accusations of draft-dodging, and former state Sen. Tom Hayden came under fire for his role in the riots that disrupted the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Bustamante, 50, has refused to back away from his past.

"The students who are MEChA today are just like the students when I was there," he said. "Pretty much, they are trying to get an education. Most of the friends I went to school with are now either graduates from college or raising families."

Unlike other radical groups of the 1960s, such as the Black Panthers and the American Indian Movement, MEChA was never associated with violence. It supported Cesar Chavez and the farm workers movement, and its founding members received support from then presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy.

"Right before he was assassinated, he sat down with Chicano students who walked out of classes," said Susan Green, a Mexican-American studies professor and MEChA faculty adviser at California State University, Chico.

But the group also had a revolutionary spirit, embodied in one of its 1960s slogans, "For the race everything. For those outside the race, nothing."

Critics, including immigration officials, have pointed to language in MEChA documents that calls for the liberation of the Southwest. The plan -- written at the National Chicano Youth Conference in 1969, a month before MEChA was created -- calls for Mexican-Americans to reclaim or liberate Aztlan, the mythical lands of their birth.

MEChA members say it is an ideological rather than a literal statement.

"When we use the term `liberation,' we are talking about the liberation of one's mind," said Edward Gomez, a former member who is now a faculty adviser for MEChA at San Bernardino Valley College.

Tom Rivera, an associate professor at California State University, San Bernardino, and MEChA faculty adviser since 1970, said the language was a reflection of the times.

"I see this as lofty language. It was not meant to be taken literally," he said.

Today, MEChA has about 300 student clubs nationwide and is known more for trying to help poor Hispanics get a college education than for radical politics. Using the motto "Unity creates power," the group promotes tutoring, community outreach and political advocacy, such as mobilizing voters against a 1994 ballot measure that sought to deny services to illegal immigrants.

In recent days, many of California's leading Hispanic elected officials have acknowledged their membership in MEChA or voiced support for the group.

"Most of us attended a meeting or more. Nearly everybody was involved with it some way," said Los Angeles City Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa, a former state Assembly speaker who was a member of MEChA from 1972 to 1975 at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., said she was never a member but supported the organization. "I can understand why nobody is stepping away," she said. "There's nothing to be ashamed of. To do that would be to deny MEChA is doing a good job."

Among other former members of MEChA are John Loredo, the current Arizona House minority leader, and Rep. Joe Baca, D-Calif.

Bustamante joined as a student at Fresno State, now CSU, Fresno, then ran unsuccessfully for student body president.

Hispanics "still lead the state in high school dropout rates, teen pregnancy. We want to stop that," said Fatima Cristerna, 23, a MEChA member at CSU, San Bernardino. "In that sense, we are revolutionary."
