Cooperation with America Cited in Recent Pakistani Suicide Attacks

April 20, 2010

April 20, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Yesterday a suicide bomb attack in the city of Peshawar claimed at least 23 lives. That attack was preceded by a similar one directed against a school which had ties to local law enforcement. Several injuries and one death are attributed to that action.

A Taliban propaganda video was aired on area television stations just prior to the Peshawar bombing which displayed a number of hostages, featuring Taliban demands for release of some of its fighters in return for the hostages.

Today, in continuing violence, another bombing was carried out, this time against a military convoy believed to have been involved with the country's anti-Taliban push.

A local political leader, Sirajul Haq, blamed the anti-terror partnership between Pakistan and the United States as the cause for the latest violence, saying "It is because we have brought America's war to our own country."
