Siraj Wahhaj, 1993 World Trade Center Unindicted CoConspirator Meets With Bloomberg

November 12, 2009 - MilitantIslamMonitor - The New York Post is reporting [http://www.nypost.com/f/print/news/local/brooklyn/wtc_plotter_in_mike_meet_fz9VZgb1doDTBH3ROWzYdJ] that Siraj Wahhaj was part of delegation of local leaders who met with NY Mayor Bloomberg in a gathering designed to headoff future Ft. Hood terrorist attacks.

Bloomberg at first denied that Wahhaj was present, when confronted by local reporters with proof to the contrary, he defended the radical imams presence, claiming that you have to talk with everyone to prevent a recurrence of last Thursdays tragedy.

Wahhaj, a Muslim convert and notorious Islamist, first came to general public attention during the prosecution of the perpetrators of the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993.

According to Fox News, Siraj Wahhaj, imam of the Masjid AlTaqwa mosque in Brooklyn, N.Y., became the first Muslim to lead the opening prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1991. Four years later, he was a character witness for Omar AbdelRahman, the socalled blind sheik convicted of conspiring to bomb the World Trade Center in 1993. Although Wahhaj was never charged, thenU.S. Attorney Mary Jo White identified him in 1995 in a list of unindicted persons who may be alleged as coconspirators. Had Bloomberg been paying any attention to the information coming out of the Hassan case he would be aware of the nature of the apparent mishandling of Major Hasan by the military bureaucracy and law enforcement, long after his radical sympathies were evident.

That he would allow Wahhaj to participate in a meeting of this nature either being ignorant of the rudimentary details of the Hasan case or worse, knowing about it and simply ignoring the information makes the Mayors summit a sham, another case of malfeasance in office by cowardly public servants, who continue to sup with Islamists of the ilk of Wahhaj, simply to assuage the enforcers of multiculturalism.
