UK Set To Release Dozens Of Terrorists Into Low Security Hostels

September 9, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - According to an exclusive in the UK's Daily Mirror [see, Scare in the community: More than 30 men jailed for terrorism crimes are soon to be freed, http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/09/09/scare-in-the-community-115875-21658870/] a large number of convicted terrorists, including members of al-Qaeda, are scheduled to be released from prison shortly, after having served only a portion of their sentences.

"...despite some continuing to hold poisonous militant views, they will be placed in hostels across the UK and supervised by staff more used to dealing with drug dealers and thieves. The prospect has raised major concerns that the probation service is not ready to monitor a generation of radical jihadis. One senior police officer warned: "These people were planning and plotting murder and to undermine our way of life but we deal with them the same way we deal with drug dealers and armed robbers."

Unbelievably rather than being subject to a program of strict supervision, these terrorists will upon release reside in "probation hostels" a low-security system of 10 halfway houses scattered across London, designed primarily to house non-violent criminals supposedly working their way back into the community.

The UK's unionized probation officers expressed dismay over the matter with a union member stating that, "There is widespread concern there was no consultation with staff about the housing of terrorists...and that the implications have not been fully thought through."
