UK funds Al Qaeda Muslim Council of Britain for teaching Muslims how to file discrimination lawsuits and apply for grants

MIM: In 2004 the Muslim Council of Britain a group which is linked to Al Qaeda and Hamas received nearly half a million dollars to have Imams tell Muslims how they can force employers to accomodate all of their religion demands and do Da'wa under the guise of 'working with advisory organisations so they have a better understanding of the employment equality regulations and the Muslim faith'.

Muslim Council of Britain will be raising awareness and understanding within the Muslim Community, with employers and advisory organisations about the provisions of the Employment Equality (Religion of Belief) Regulations. This is being done through a variety of means including: briefing of Imams to help spread the message to the Muslim Community through mosques –and during key religious festivals such as Ramadan; good practice guidance for mainstream agencies and large employers on Muslim issues and cultural awareness; enhancement of the MCB website to include employment FAQs; working with advisory organisations so they have a better understanding of the employment equality regulations and the Muslim faith.

The site serves as a resource centre for journalists and others seeking current and historical information on Islam in Britain. It also serves as a campaigning site on issues of concern to the Muslim community. Its innovative features include a section 'Election Countdown' that seeks to encourage Muslims to participate in British political life. If funds become available, the site will be extended to include a section to help in capacity building of local community organisations e.g. advice on how to complete funding applications.
