Deja vu all over again : 2001 statement by Muslims in response to 9/11 included terrorist groups
July 29, 2005
2. Dr. Taha Jabir Alalwani- former president of the Figh Council.Presently unindicted co conpirator number 5 in the Sami Al Arian trial. In the 1980's Alwani issued a fatwa calling for Jihad against Israel.Alwani is also an officer in/and/or directs the Safa Group of companies which include the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), Graduate School of Islamic & Social Sciences, Heritage Education Trust and other entities [over 100 in total]. Mr. Alwani has been under investigation for at least 10 years by the Federal government. His organizations and personal living quarters were raided in a 2003 joint-terrorism strike [Operation Greenquest] spearheaded by the US Treasury Department.
3)Muzzamil Siddiqui - head of the Figh Council of North America and Imam of the Islamic Society of Orange County, California.
During an anti-Israel rally outside the White House on Oct. 28, 2000, Siddiqi openly threatened the United States with violence if it continued its support of Israel. "America has to learn ... if you remain on the side of injustice, the wrath of God will come. Please, all Americans. Do you remember that? ... If you continue doing injustice, and tolerate injustice, the wrath of God will come." By "injustice," he meant U.S. support for Israel.
Siddiqi also has called for a wider application of sharia law in the United States, and in a 1995 speech praised suicide bombers. "Those who die on the part of justice are alive, and their place is with the Lord, and they receive the highest position, because this is the highest honor," he was quoted as saying by the Kansas City Star on Jan. 28, 1995.

4)Muhammed Al Hanooti
"..The spiritual leader of the Capital Region's largest Muslim mosque allegedly raised more than $6 million for a Middle Eastern terrorist organization and was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, according to court records, interviews and a classified FBI memorandum.
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hanooti, the 65-year-old imam at the Islamic Center of the Capital District for the past year and half, denies the allegations and insisted he has not been a fund-raiser for Hamas, the outlawed Palestinian organization whose leaders have publicly claimed credit for numerous terrorist strikes and suicide bombings.
In an interview last week, he condemned terrorist attacks against the United States, said "I love America" and noted he had married an American.
But a Times Union investigation reveals a complex history of association by Al-Hanooti with convicted terrorists and organizations that U.S. authorities believe to be fund-raising fronts for terrorist groups. And a 1995 memorandum filed in federal court by former U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White names Al-Hanooti -- along with scores of others, including Osama bin Laden -- as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 bombing that claimed six lives and injured thousands.
Al-Hanooti conceded to having been interviewed by FBI agents investigating the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. At the time, Al-Hanooti was imam of a Jersey City, N.J., mosque where at least one of the bombers prayed regularly and where Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, the blind Islamic cleric now serving a' life sentence for his involvement in a failed plot to bomb New York City landmarks, often delivered incendiary speeches..." http://www.siteinstitute.org/bin/articles.cgi?ID=news202&Category=news&Subcategory=0

5) Zulfiqar Al Shah -presently CEO of Universal Heritage Foundation a subsidiary of the Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim American Society . Shah was the former of principal of the School for Islamic Studies in Broward which he co founded with Mohammed Javed Qureshi, the manager of the Taco Bell who hired dirty bomber wannabe Jose Padilla and helped him convert to Islam.
In an article in 2002 Shah stated that:;" That this (Palestine), was not just an Arab issue but one for "the whole Muslim Ummah" (nation).
"If we are unable to stop the Jews now, their next stop is Yathrib ,the prophets city of Medina), where Jews used to live until their expulsion by the prophet Muhammed (SAW)". "That's the pinnacle of their motives".
"We need to take the Palestine cause as a "Fard" (religious obligation), and work wholeheartedly towards it's realisation ," Shah said. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/216

6) Ibrahim Dremali: Former Imam of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, now head the Islamic Center of Des Moines Iowa. Dremali is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and has raised money for Hamas and the IAP. Dremali fled to Des Moines shortly before the start of the Al Arian trial and the arrest of one of his congregants, Rafiq Sabir on charges of swearing allegiance to Al Qaeda and planning to set up a Jihad training camp on Long Island . The Iman who replaced him (Muneer Arafat) testified at the Al Arian trial that he was a member of Islamic Jihad. Arafat's mosque helped raised money for suicide bombers. Dremali still maintains contact with the ICBR and gives weekly lectures via videolink. An article in Islamonline entitled "South Florida protest calls for Jihad" written byDremali's cowife recounted that:
"...Saturday's demonstration was not a call for peace with the Israelis. Rather, the demonstration specifically called for a jihad (holy struggle).
Muslims representing several countries joined together in chanting pro-jihadi slogans, such as "We don't want negotiation, with jihad we'll claim our nation," and "With jihad we'll claim our land, Zionist blood will wet the sand."
In October of 2000, Dremali spoke at a rally where Israeli flags were burned and slogans, such as "With jihad we'll claim our land, Zionist blood will wet the sand," were shouted. Dremali told the crowd "not to be sad for those who were martyred. The children at the rally were made to lie down in mock graves and one child was hoisted aloft by the crowd to represent a corpse....
Saturday's demonstration was not a call for peace with the Israelis. Rather, the demonstration specifically called for a jihad (holy struggle).
The crowd then joined in following a mock funeral procession amidst shouts of "Haya 'ala al-jihad," occasionally stopping to burn Israeli flags.
Before the crowd dispersed, Muslims from all backgrounds loudly chanted "Muslims united, will never be divided".http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/508

7) Adul Malik Mujahid: CEO of the multimedia company/Hamas fundraising front Sound Vision. New director of the Council of Islamic Organisations of Greater Chicago. When Yusuf Islam was banned from entering the US because he posed a threat to national security, Mujahid became one of his most vocal supporters. The Sound Vision website explained that Muslims were the real victims of 9/11 and urged families to take vacations to Bosnia in order to "help build mosques". Mujahid was also a fundraiser for Bosnian terror funding charity fronts (Bosnian/Kosovo Task Force), connected to Abdulrahman Alamoudi, the head the American Muslim Council, who was jailed for 23 years on terrorism related charges.
"...ABDUL MALIK MUJAHID, is the President and Director of Sound Vision Foundation Inc. Award-winning author and producer, he is an Imam in the Chicago area. A graduate of Darul Uloom Shah Waliullah in Islamic Studies and the University of Chicago in Political Science, he has learned television production as director and producer at the Chicago Access Corporation. He is the producer of Sound Vision's programs. He was also responsible for the concept and design of Al-Qari, the leading Quran learning multimedia software. Mujahid has served as the National Coordinator of Bosnia Task Force, USA. It was in this capacity that he initiated the formation of the Islamic Shura Council of North America. He also serves as National Coordinator of Kosova Task Force, USA, an alliance of 15 national organizations of Muslims in America..." http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/511

8) Shaikh Hassan Qazwini:
A German journalist who interviewed Qazwini recounted that :
"... When I visited Imam Hasan Qazwini of Dearborn, a very outspoken person who met several times with President Bush and who is said to be moderate," he had a very calm voice during our conversation until we reached the topic of the American media. We all know who influences the media in the USA," he told me. I looked at him and asked:Well, who?" He insisted:Come on, you know it, everybody knows it." I told him I didn't know. Then it burst out of him:The pro-Israeli lobby..!"
"(He) says says his first thought after he saw the pictures of the burning WTC on CNN was: I hope this were not Muslims." But the negative impact on his community was not as bad as he expected. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/511
9) Shaikh Jamal Badawi : . Jamal Badawi, professor at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and a cross-appointed faculty member in the Departments of Religious Studies and Management had this advice for husbands with disobedient wives:
"...There are cases, however, in which a wife persists in bad habits and showing contempt of her husband and disregard for her marital obligations. Instead of divorce, the husband may resort to another measure that may save the marriage, at least in some cases. Such a measure is more accurately described as a gentle tap on the body, but never on the face, making it more of a symbolic measure than a punitive one. .." http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/64

10) Salam Al Marayati:
The New York TImes reported that only few hours after the WTC attacks MPAC director Salam Marayati had stated :
"If we're going to look at
suspects we should look to the groups that benefit the most from these kinds of
incidents, and I think we should put the state of Israel on the suspect list
because I think this diverts attention from what's happening in the Palestinian
territories so that they can go on with their aggression and occupation and
apartheid policies." (New York Times, Oct. 22, 2001)

The Fiqh Council of
Islam strictly condemns religious extremism and the use of violence against innocent lives. There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism. Targeting civilians' life and property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram or forbidden - and those who commit these barbaric acts are criminals, not "martyrs."
The Qur'an, Islam's revealed text, states: "Whoever kills a person [unjustly]
it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind." (Qur'an,
Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts: "Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil." (Al-Tirmidhi)
God mandates moderation in faith and in all aspects of life when He states in the Qur'an: "We made you to be a community of the middle way, so that (with the example of your lives) you might bear witness to the truth before all mankind." (Qur'an, 2:143)
In another verse, God explains our duties as human beings when he says: "Let there arise from among you a band of people who invite to righteousness, and enjoin good and forbid evil." (Qur'an, 3:104)
Islam teaches us to act in a caring manner to all of God's creation. The Prophet Muhammad, who is described in the Qur'an as "a mercy to the worlds" said: "All creation is the family of God, and the person most beloved by God (is the one) who is kind and caring toward His family."
In the light of the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah we clearly and strongly state:
1. All acts of terrorism targeting civilians are haram (forbidden) in Islam.
2. It is haram for a Muslim to cooperate with any individual or group that is involved in any act of terrorism or violence.
3. It is the civic and religious duty of Muslims to cooperate with law enforcement authorities to protect the lives of all civilians.
We issue this fatwa following the guidance of our scripture, the Qur'an, and the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. We urge all people to resolve all conflicts in just and peaceful manners.
We pray for the defeat of extremism and terrorism. We pray for the safety and security of our country, the
