Trevor Phillips Moderator Of 'Challenging Islamophobia' Panel Wrote Letter To IHRC Offering To Help Prosecute "Islamophobia"

MIM:Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has called her out for falsely proclaiming that there is "no antisemitism in the Quran".

"Qanta A. Ahmed "is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Committee on Combating Contemporary Anti-Semitism Through Testimony at the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation." Here she claims that "Islam reveres Judaism, the Torah, Moses and the Jewish people as legitimate believers, and Jerusalem as belonging only to the Jews — all documented within the Quran."
Unfortunately, none of that is true. There is a strong native strain of anti-Semitism in Islam, rooted in the Qur'an. The Qur'an puts forward a clear, consistent image of the Jews: they are scheming, treacherous liars and the most dangerous enemies of the Muslims..."

"A group that Jeremy Corbyn claimed "represents all that's best in Islam" is permeated "at every level" by "extremism, support for overseas terror groups and extreme anti-Semitism" and should be probed by counter-terror police, according to a think tank report.
Trevor Phillips the then head of the Commission for Racial Equality wrote to the virulently antisemitic and Israel bashing IHRC (Islamic Human Rights Commission) to congratulate them on the Islamophobia Awards held on 31st May 2003.
In his letter, he states:
"I would like to take this opportunity to say what a good idea these awards are. There is a very compelling case for using humour to deal with difficult and serious issues such as Islamaphobia[sic]. The rise in anti-Muslim incidents is indeed alarming and I completely agree with you that there should be legislation to rule both this and and discrimination on the grounds of any religion. If you have any research on this issue which helps build the case in favour of legislation, I would be very interested in seeing it." He ends the letter, "I hope we will have the opportunity to work together in the future."
