September 18, 2013 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – On September 13, Boko Haram, the Islamic terror organization, ambushed a brigade of Nigeria's Multi National Joint Task Force killing at least 40 with many still unaccounted for."…At least 40 Nigerian soldiers were killed and 65 others went missing in a deadly ambush by suspected members of the extremist group, Boko Haram, in the sect's stronghold in Borno state…" [source, Premium Times]The Nigerian government is in complete denial regarding the danger posed by the group, refusing to officially even confirm or deny that the attack took place.Boko Haram operates from a stronghold comprised of three states Borno, Yobe and Adamawa all of which are located in the North West corner of the country and appears to have been emboldened by its recent confrontations.

Close to 100 people including about 14 soldiers were killed in the various attacks; with the latest being in Konduga over the weekend when about 44 people were killed when gunmen dressed in military uniform attacked worshippers in a mosque…We call on you all to repent and come to the ways of Allah. "…During yesterday's State Department briefing, the subject of a recent attack in Nigeria by the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram was addressed by Patrick Ventrell, Acting Deputy Spokesperson, in a manner indicative of this administrations twisted thinking regarding terrorism perpetrated by Muslims.As we have seen all too frequently the West and increasingly, Africa are whistling past the graveyard when the subject turns to Islamic terrorism. Both are publicly ignoring the growing threat posed by the global jihad. Given Team Obama's recent humiliation at the hands of Vlad Putin in Syria we don't see much changing and any expectations that this administration might provide aid to oil rich Nigeria will likely not be met any time soon.According to Mr. Ventrell, Islamic jihad is caused by government's not addressing long festering local social problems. State's thinking on this is dangerously simplistic in that it implies that absent societal grievances, jihad would not exist.
