Council on American Islamic Relations announces' Islamophobia and Anti Americanism' conference

Iqbal Sacranie - slated speaker who is head of the UK's 'CAIR' championed Al Muhajiroun rally & Bin Laden entry into Britain
April 27, 2005

Islamophobia in Action

Iqbal Sacranie appeals for calm

MIM: Slated CAIR Islamophobia conference speaker Iqbal Sacranie of the Muslim Council of Britain and his lackey Inayat Bungawala are confronted by a gang of fellow radical Islamists at the Regents Park Mosque .

MIM:The fear Sacranie showed when he was assailed by his disgruntled 'brothers in arms' from Al Muhajiroun was in sharp contrast to the bravado he displayed in hailing Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwa ordering the murder of fellow Muslim Salman Rushdie, declaring that ; "death perhaps is too easy for him...his mind must be tormented for the rest of his life unless he begs forgiveness from the Almighty Allah ". (Guardian 1998) Page 183 of "The Rushdie Affair"by Dr. Daniel Pipes.

MIM:In 1996 Iqbal Sacranie who was then a spokesman for the U.K. Committee on Islamic Affairs pushed for the entry of Bin Laden and other terrorists into the UK on the grounds that "they were Muslim scholars". He also threatened leaders of the UK Jewish Community who were attempting to get Al Muhajiroun's Rally for Revival cancelled. A 1996 edition of the Muslim News published an account of the controversy which is excerpted below:

"Muslim News (30.08.96) saw the Jewish Board of Deputies' representations to the government demanding that it stop the rally as being part of a wider context of anti-Muslim actions. This article quotes Iqbal Sacranie, spokesman for the UK Action Committee on Islamic Affairs: "The Board of Deputies of British Jews should seriously consider what action they take on this matter because of the detrimental effect on community relations which could result. Taking a hostile view towards scholars who wish to come to this country to present their points of view at a conference will not serve good community relations..." The Jewish Chronicle (30.08.96)

"The Board of Deputies of British Jews asked the Home Secretary to deny entry to Britain for the rally to many of those invited, (to the AM Rally for Revival),particularly speakers from Palestine and Lebanon and all members and suspected members of Hamas and Hizbullah.

"...The Board of Deputies called for their exclusion on the grounds that their presence would be "contrary to the public good" (Jewish Chronicle, 09.08.96, Time Out, 14.08.96). Well-known speakers who were invited included: Osama Bin Laden, a wealthy Saudi national who has funded one of the groups in the Afghanistan conflict; Sheikh Muhammad Fadhlallah, of the Lebanese Hizbullah; and the Saudi dissident, Dr Al-Mas'ari. Some speakers, who would have been unable to attend in person due to reasons beyond their control, would have sent films of their speeches. These included: Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, jailed for conspiracy to bomb the World Trade Centre in New York; Sheikh Obeid, who was abducted in 1989 from Lebanon and has been held since without trial in Israel; and imprisoned members of the FIS in Algeria ..."(Q-News, 02.08.96, Sunday Times, 18.08.96)

MIM: Iqbal Sacranie explains why Muslims cannot be expected to reject terrorism in an article by Melanie Philips.

"...There is no such thing as an Islamic terrorist. This is deeply offensive..."
http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/archives/000988.html

MIM: A reader in the UK expounded:

"...The logic is this: if it is a terrorist act, the perpetrator cannot be a true Muslim; if the perpetrator is a true Muslim, it cannot be a terrorist act. Thus redefined, Islam can pose as a religion of peace but support violent jihad (not "terrorism") against its opponents..." http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/archives/000989.html

MIM: In contrast to their usual red, white, and blue, bedecked conference announcements, CAIR is showing their 'true colors' on the rather drab conference flyer by announcing the conference as 'Islamophobia and Anti Americanism,Causes and Remedies.' 'Islamophobia' being alleged instances of religous discrimination which are then exploited by CAIR to shakedown and intimidate individuals and companies, and 'anti Americanism' as the politically correct term for terrorism and global Jihad.

As far as remedies for Islamophobia go, it has been proven in the past months that the remedy is hefty payments to CAIR, along with acceding to their demands for fear of lawsuits, and granting of unprecedented religous priviledges to Muslims, which will insure that non Muslims are given maximum exposure to Islam.

MIM:One of the featured speakers at the CAIR Islamophobia event is Iqbal Sacranie ,head of the Muslim Council of Britain. The MCB is a carbon copy of CAIR and even boasts solid Hamas ties in the form of Azzam Tamimi, who runs the International Institute of Political Thought. The MCB is pretending to be a moderate organisation but is in fact connected to a terrorist network which runs the gamut from Hizb ut Tahrir, the CDLR, MIRA and Al Qaeda.

MIM:In 1996 Sacranie was head of the U.K. Action Committee on Islamic Affairs, the precursor of the MCB, (much like the IAP spawned CAIR), and advocated for the right of Al Muhajiroun to hold a 'Rally for Reviva',l and threatened UK Jewish community leaders when they protested the entry of foreign terrorists into Britain. Among the slated rally speakers was none other then Osama Bin Laden, whom Sacranie referred to as a " a Muslim scholar".

(In a example of what can only be termed 'poetic justice' Sacranie was turned on last week by Al Muhajiroun supporters who accused him of 'selling out to the kufrs' and in an echo of his wish for Salman Rushdie's eternal torment, (see above.),told him he 'would burn in hell'.

In addition to being the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, Sacranie is a trustee (together with several members of the MCB) of Yusuf Islam's Al Qaeda funding 'charity' front called Muslim Aid, which was on a list of 10 organisations which Spanish police accused of funding Al Qaeda Mujahideen fighters in Bosnia. Yusuf Islam was listed as a treasurer for the MCB at the same time that Sacranie was one of the directors. Given this 'zero degree of separation' one can only hope that Sacranie will be subjected to same the treatment as Islam, and be denied entry into the United States.

MIM: In a case of what can be termed 'Islamist Islamophobia' Muslim Council of Britain director Sacranie has a 'Kuffar" flyer thrust into his face, and his head connects with the wall behind him. Disgruntled members of Al Muhajiroun (aka Saviour Sect) might not have recalled how hard he fought for their 'right to party' in 1996 when he campaigned against the cancellation of an Al Muhajiron ' Rally for Revival 'which listed Osama Bin Laden as one of the scheduled speakers.

Iqbal Sacranie attack

Islamophobia in action:

MIM:Iqbal Sacranie receives a 'Kaafir' flyer in the face together with a 'halal wallbanger' from members of Al Muhajiroun in the stairwell of the Regent's Park Mosque.

Sacranie voiced phony condemnation at Al Muhajroun's 'extremism' in a mercenary attempt to bolster the Muslim Council of Britain's facade as the voice of moderate Muslims in the UK.

MIM: CAIR director Omar Ahmad calls Islamophobia and Anti Americanism " two of the most problematic phenomenon we face in the world today". More proof is any is needed that CAIR, which is presently a defendant in a 9/11 terrorism lawsuit, considers the use of terrorism legitimate as long as it does not pose any legal and public relations problems for his organisation.

"CAIR's long-term vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding," said CAIR Board Chairman Omar Ahmad. "What better way to achieve that goal than to examine two of the most problematic phenomena, Islamophobia and anti- Americanism, that we face in our world today."

Ahmad said both issues are among the root causes of worldwide mistrust and misunderstanding that often lead to religious conflict and political instability.

CAIR, America's largest Muslim civil liberties group, has 31 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
