NC man found guilty in plot to behead witnesses

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina man serving a 45-year sentence for a plot to attack a U.S. Marine base has been found guilty in a murder-for-hire plot to behead witnesses who testified against him.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Walker said 28-year-old Hysen Sherifi was found guilty Thursday of nine counts related to the murder-for-hire plot. "...Sherifi's brother Shkumbin Sherifi, 22, and former special education teacher Nevine Aly Elshiekh, 47, of Raleigh pleaded guilty to lesser charges last week and testified against Hysen Sherifi.
Hysen Sherifi was already in custody in the terror case when he asked another inmate in the same lockup to help him hire a hit man, said prosecutor Matthew Blue of the U.S. Justice Department's counterterrorism section...."
