TUESDAY, JUNE 7TH 2011 at 11:00 AM
Masjid Jamaat al-Mumineen (MJAM)
3222 Holiday Springs Boulevard - Margate, Florida
(In front of the sidewalk)

"We are calling on both state and federal authorities to shut down the MJAM Center for its connections to terrorism," said Joe Kaufman with the Americans Against Hate.

Last month, the imam of the mosque, Izhar Khan, along with four members of his family, including his father, Hafiz, were arrested and charged with a conspiracy to finance the militant Taliban group in Pakistan. The father, as well, has discussed buying weapons for the Taliban. Currently, the United States is involved in fighting the Taliban in both Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The President of the mosque's Board of Directors and the Registered Agent for the group's corporation, Yazid Ali, continues to support Izhar Khan, calling him a "bright, young star." Joe Kaufman, chairman of Americans Against Hate, stated, "Given the nature of the arrests and given the fact that the president of the mosque, as well as other mosque goers, continue to support the Khans, we believe it is necessary and warranted that the U.S. government moves to shut down the mosque. Masjid Jamaat al-Mumineen and its officials should no longer be allowed to operate within the state of Florida."

"After this mosque's imam was found to be involved in financing a terrorist group, how can this mosque be allowed to remain open?" said Danita Kilcullen, Director of Tea Party Fort Lauderdale.

"It appears that the leadership of the mosque is in conspiracy to finance the militant Taliban in Pakistan. We are calling on the state and federal governments to look into the mosque's finances and should there be evidence that they are supporting the Taliban or other terrorist groups and individuals, we need to shut them down," said Pastor Mark D. Boykin.

"Those of us who work and live in Margate, we stand behind our troops in our fight against terrorism and we must eradicate any group, including the MJAM that are supporting the Taliban and other terrorist organizations." said Mr. Patrick Laffey of Citizens of Margate.

Local citizens are outraged and will be holding a peaceful demonstration and protest, taking place on:
