January 6 2011- Militant Islam Monitor -PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas released terrorist Wael Bitar from a PA prison on Thursday. He was one of several terrorists who murdered 4 Israelis in a car by shooting them at close range near the Israeli town of Beit Chaggai. Bitar had also been arrested and released by the PA in 2008 for his role in a suicide bombing. He was released together with five other Hamas terrorists.
The head of the extremist Islamic movement in Israel Raed Salah and Qatari leaders had been pressing for Bitar's release.
According to Israel National News:
" Danny Dayan, head of the Yesha (Judea and Samaria) Council, called on Israeli troops to make up for the PA's actions by capturing the released killer as soon as possible.
"The delusion that Abbas plans to fight terrorism has been shattered yet again by the PA's 'revolving door,'" he declared. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/141591
Relatives of the victims expressed shock at the release and issued a statement.
"We call on the security forces to take advantage of the situation and eliminate the freed terrorist." They also called on the government of Israel to act firmly to strengthen and reinforce the settlement of Jews in all of the land of Israel and cut off all contact with the terrorist authority, which releases terrorists and thereby gives a green light to other terror attacks." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/201522
