AAH GETS RADICAL MUSLIM GROUP LEADER THROWN OFF OF U.S. COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS

AMANA PRESIDENT, SOFIAN ZAKKOUT, TOLD TO REMOVE ANY MENTION OF COMMISSION FROM AMANA WEBSITE

(Miami, FL) Information provided by Joe Kaufman and Americans Against Hate (AAH) to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has led to the removal of the leader of a radical Muslim group from the commission.

The leader, Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout, was formerly the Vice President of the Hamas-associated Health Resource Center for Palestine (HRCP).

The group, AMANA or the American Muslim Association of North America, has used its website to promote terror-related organizations and to propagate heavily bigoted material aimed at Jews, Christians and homosexuals.

The latest infraction by AMANA was the July 25th posting of an anti-Semitic David Duke video on its site. The video is currently located prominently at the top of AMANA's homepage.

This morning, AMANA President Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout was contacted by the commission to remove all mention of the commission on the AMANA site. As of right now, Zakkout has not abided by the commission's demands, as the website still states, "The Director of AMANA is serving as a member in the Florida State Advisory Committee (FL SAC) to the United States Commission on Civil Rights."

Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: [email protected].
