July 19, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - In another example of the press' efforts to sanitize Islam, removing any connection between it and terrorism, we find Hadia Mubarak's recent On Faith WashPost piece [source, No religious basis for 9/11, http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/panelists/hadia_mubarak/2010/07/no_religious_basis_for_911.html] .

In this writing Ms. Mubarak demonstrates that she, far from being a legitimate religious commentator, is a strident Islamist who has been provided by her sponsoring media organization with the equivalent of undeserved journalistic street-cred.

Mubarak comes by her radicalism honestly...

She was the first woman president of the Muslim Student's Association [source, MSA National website, http://www.msanational.org/about/advisors] widely reported as an arm of Egypt's terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. In 2006 she was on the national board of the Council on American Islamic Relations, CAIR, [source, CAIR National website, http://www.cair.com/Portals/0/pdf/2006_Annual_Report.pdf]. CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the nation's largest terror financing prosecution, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation. The outcome of that prosecution resulted in the conviction of Ghassan Elashi, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, and four other defendants on a total of 108 terror-related charges.

Ms. Mubarak still serves the MSA as an advisor [source, MSA National website]

Regarding the linkage between MSA and the Brotherhood, a 2004 Chicago Tribune article notes that, "While the U.S. Brotherhood was influential from its beginning--in 1963 it helped establish the Muslim Students Association, one of the first national Islamic groups in the U.S.--Elkadi thought the group could expand its reach." In Mubarak's piece she tries to establish a basis of support for a proposed mega-mosque [developed by imam Faisal Rauf, who refuses to condemn either Hamas or the Muslim Brotherhood and whose backers remain undisclosed] to be built next to New York's Ground Zero, 911 site.

With that in mind she makes the following claim:

"If one were to search through Islam's primary sources - the Quran and prophetic tradition (hadith) - and all the classical legal texts of Islamic jurists, one could only come to one conclusion: that 9/11 and all acts of terror that inflict violence on innocent people are a violation of Islam."

Reality however demands a far different conclusion, that elements of mainstream Islamic theology not only support, but endorse and promote extension of the Shari'a [Islamic law] and the establishment of Muslim dominion over all other religions by any means necessary. The primacy of this directive is reflected by the way in which the Qur'an honors Islamic warriors - mujahideen - who, when killed as a result of actions taken against unbelievers are promised eternal paradise in the next world.

This hardly constitutes breaking news to most Americans who can't avoid the constant presence in the news of atrocities proudly undertaken by Mubarak's co-religionists using Islamic theology as justification.

In Mubarak's whitewash of the truth, she publicly denies the Qur'an's numerous exhortations to extend, violently, the domain of the religion, despite the incontestability of their existence in any legitimate translation of the Qur'an [including the one distributed by CAIR]. One example should suffice to prove the point, "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. Ms. Mubarak fails to explain why Osama bin-Laden, his second in command Ayman al-Zawahiri, all of the 911 conspirators and the unfortunately all too numerous number of terrorists who commit acts of war specifically use passages of the Qur'an as justification for their actions. It's not like they are creating falsehoods, inventing scriptural text that did not previously exist.

While Mubarak, for public consumption might deny that the 911 terrorists were acting in accord with the Qur'an, those carrying out this carnage apparently consider themselves exemplary Muslims. This assertion would be greeted warmly at Egypt's al-Azhar University, an institution which has been cranking out Islamic scholars for a thousand years. Along the way the institution served as the alma mater for such luminaries as Omar Abdel Rahman, the Blind Sheik [who was awarded a Doctorate in Islamic Jurisprudence] who is serving a life sentence for his role in the conspiracies surrounding the first bombing of the World Trade Center in NY.

Understanding Mubarak's methodology is easy; in her world the existence of these troubling passages constitute inconvenient impediments to a grander plan, so she denies that they exist. This is done of course to create a false picture of Islam and its history so that the effort by radical Muslims to slowly - incrementally - force the United States and Western culture to become Shari'a compliant is unhindered by the obvious questions raised by a fair reading of Islamic history.

It also explains why she champions imam Rauf's murkily funded mosque building program. Since her bio reads, "...doctoral student at Georgetown University's Islamic Studies department...Master's Degree in Contemporary Arab Studies..." one would hope she would be familiar with the historic Islamic practice of building mosques on sites where great Muslim military victories were realized. She should also be aware that building of such mosques on the sites of previously Christian and Jewish houses of worship has been a part of Islam for a very long time. For example the site where the first and second great Jewish temples were built in antiquity [the first raised by King David, dating back to the 10th century BC, 1,500 years before the birth of Mohammed] was later commandeered by Muslims as the site for the al-Aqsa mosque, which understandably remains a constant source of friction in present day Jerusalem.

Building a mosque on America's hallowed ground would serve the same purpose; if Ms. Mubarak is unaware of this historic baggage perhaps a check of her academic credentials might be in order.

Not a onetime event, Mubarak has a record of dissimulating in print, arguing in Freedom is Never out of Fashion, the lunatic position that wearing of the burqa or hijab is an affirmation of freedom, rather than what it obviously is, tangible proof of Islam's misogyny [source, http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/panelists/hadia_mubarak/2009/06/freedom_is_never_out_of_fashion.html]. One might note here that slaves, even supposedly acquiescent ones, are still slaves and that rather than empowering women, the constant Islamic ferment in the West over the alleged right to wear religious garments in all venues serves the greater intent of "integrating" Islamic religious law into the woof and weave of this society.

In other venues, documented on YouTube, we find Ms. Mubarak describing Israeli efforts to halt Hamas' incessant warfare against the Jews, invoking at an assembly, "a moment of silence" to "pray for the lives of Palestinian men, women and children who have been savagely massacred in the Gaza Strip..." At this same gathering Mubarak stressed that Muslims should take advantage of the American political system to assure that [we must assume] her Islamism is further extended, a technique fully in keeping with the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, who argue that America must be destroyed from within by devout Muslims.

"The process of settlement is a "Civilization-Jihadist Process" with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions..." While Ms. Mubarak has the undeniable right to her political viewpoint, she holds no consequent right to be granted official access to the WashPost's readership. We suggest she be replaced by a more forthright and responsible Muslim representative, not one clearly engaged in waging a very public stealth jihad. Her continued presence makes a laughing stock of whatever credibility the WashPost retains.
