BROWARD COUNTY ATTEMPTS TO PLACE BLAME FOR HAMAS-ASSOCIATED STREET SIGN ON CITY OF DAVIE

RADIO HOST JEFF KATZ JOINS LIST OF SPEAKERS FOR RALLY TO REMOVE CAIR SIGN

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) During communications with radio station WFTL, Broward County attempted to place the blame for a sign bearing the name of a Hamas-related group currently being investigated by the U.S. government on the city of Davie. The sign is part of Broward's "Adopt-A-Street" program, and it is located outside of Broward Community College and Nova Southeastern University. The group on the sign is the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR.

Americans Against Hate Chairman Joe Kaufman, who was a guest yesterday on WFTL's Joyce Kaufman and Jeff Katz shows, rightly pointed out that all of the "adopted" signs include the Broward County logo on them and that Broward supplies the training for the litter cleanup that is associated with the signs.

Joe Kaufman forcefully stated on the Katz show that Broward was trying to avoid responsibility and, if the city of Davie is indeed the one to blame for CAIR being placed on the sign, Broward should tell Davie to remove it immediately.

Katz has agreed to be one of the speakers for the Americans Against Hate (AAH) December 18th rally that is being held outside the county commission building in downtown Fort Lauderdale calling on Broward to remove the sign.

Other speakers include Joe Kaufman, Rabbi Andrew Jacobs of Ramat Shalom - Plantation, and Tuly Wultz, the co-founder of the Daniel Cantor Wultz Foundation.

All are invited to attend the event.

When: Noon on Friday, December 18, 2009

Where: Outside the Broward County Commission building, at 115 S. Andrews Ave., in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

AAH asks that attendees bring their American flags. All signage will be provided by Americans Against Hate.

Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: [email protected].
