Muslim Brotherhood, "Ready To Send Immediately 10,000 Mujahadin To Fight The Zionists"

By WILLIAM MAYER and BEILA RABINOWITZ

June 17, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As these writers have long maintained "the dangerous nature of the Muslim Brotherhood [Ikhwan in Arabic] and its centrality within Islamic terrorism," precludes it ever being amenable in any positive way, to "dialogue," with the West [for example see our 2007 piece http://www.pipelinenews.org/2007/Bush-Administration-Moves-To-Legitimize-The-Muslim-Brotherhood.html, Bush Administration Moves To Legitimize The Muslim Brotherhood?], so it is not surprising in the least that a week before Obama's June 4 dhimmi speech to the Muslim world, Egypt's only English daily newspaper carried a front-page article detailing not only the existence of an armed wing of the now avowedly "peaceful" Muslim Brotherhood [MB], but that the organization's leadership is ready to commit ten thousand "holy warriors" in the fight to destroy Israel.

"I am ready to send immediately 10,000 mujahadin to fight the Zionists alongside Hezbollah," Supreme Guide Mohammed Mehdi Akef told AFP." [source, http://www.thedailynewsegypt.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=2504]

Lest one think this might be idle boasting, that the MB does not have such a capacity, the group's "Supreme Guide" Akef states that though it would be difficult to field this number of jihadists, "There are enough people..." but stipulated that "Training ... is not as easy as it once was; there was a time when a week was all it took to train and arm fighters," so it is clear that the MB is not talking about a new capability, that it has maintained an armed wing for some time.

These authors also noted in a 2006 piece that the Egyptian government was aware of the armed wing of the MB and was taking what it deemed to be appropriate action.

"Egyptian officials are concerned that the Muslim Brotherhood is in the process of building on its political power and developing a military wing. Adding credence to that speculation many of the al-Azhar demonstrators were wearing military style garb.

The Middle East Newsline is reporting that the existence of the Muslim Brotherhood's military wing has been confirmed by unidentified government officials:

"'They don't walk around with firearms, at least not as far as we know,' an official said. 'But they are trained to attack.' Officials said Brotherhood militiamen have been trained in karate, Kung Fu and other martial arts. They said the force has been seen at Al Azhar University, regarded as the seat of Sunni Islam and a Brotherhood stronghold." That this information comes so highly sourced flies in the face of State Department types [whose sentiments now dominate the thinking regarding the group in the Obama administration] who actually hold the Muslim Brotherhood up as an example of exactly the type of "peaceful" Muslim group with which dialogue should be conducted.

Such a stance stands in opposition to the clear reality of what the Muslim Brotherhood has always stood for, the establishment of a world-wide Caliphate, under which Shari'a would reign supreme. The organization is by no means ambiguous as to its commitment to jihad, "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope"

Armed jihad is not new to the Muslim Brotherhood, it has been involved in Shari'a tinged revolutionary violence including numerous assassinations since its inception with a recent clear example being its creation in 1987 of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Below, from the government's brief in U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation, the largest successful prosecution of domestically funded jihad.

"At the outbreak of the First Intifada, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, an Islamic cleric from Gaza, was the leader of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is an international Islamic fundamentalist movement, originally organized in Egypt in 1928, under the following of Islamic leader Sheik Hassan Al Banna. Sheik Yassin and his followers, fueled by their resentment of Israel's existence and an Islamist ideology, were instrumental in the First Intifada. While many Palestinians were satisfied to have a "two state solution" to the conflict, where Israel and Palestine exist side by side, each recognizing the others right to exist, this was not an acceptable compromise for Sheik Yassin and his followers. They advocated the destruction of the State of Israel and the taking back of what they believed belonged to the Palestinians...In December 1987, Sheik Yassin, among others, founded Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Ilamiyya, Arabic for the "Islamic Resistance Movement" (known by its acronym, Hamas), to accomplish its mission of destroying Israel." The potential repercussions of Atef's revelation are many. Domestically it suggests that the present laissez faire attitude towards Muslim Brotherhood associated organizations immediately be recognized as potentially suicidal.

The number of groups in the United States with clear ties to the Muslim Brotherhood are numerous.

"Several Islamist organizations in the United States derive from the Muslim Brotherhood. These include the Muslim Students Association (MSA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR), the American Muslim Council (AMC), the Muslim American Society (MAS), the Muslim Arab Youth Association (MAYA) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). A number of the officials and members of some of these U.S. based organizations have been convicted or deported based on their involvement with, or support of, terrorism. Several of the organizations, themselves, have been under investigation for suspected links to terrorism support or have been named as unindicted coconspirators in the recently concluded Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial in Dallas, Texas wherein all the defendants and HLF itself were convicted on all charges, including counts directly related to supporting Hamas.

Last summer, the Brotherhood's Deputy Supreme Guide acknowledged there remains an active wing of the organization in the U.S. which "are part of the American society and they want to an active positive role in it." In response to an interviewer's question, Mohammed Habib acknowledged a "relationship" between CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood." These radical Islamist groups operate as a North American interlocking directorate whose ultimate goal is forcing Shari'a compliance on the West, despite civil constitutions and long traditions which mandate exactly the opposite, religious freedom.

This process does not take place within a vacuum however, it too has been mandated, the product of a now decades old plan by the Muslim Brotherhood, called variously "The Plan" or "The Project," the existence of which has been known since the discovery of documents attesting to it were seized in a series of raids against suspect Islamic groups.

The plan, clearly outlined in these documents is deceptively simple, use Western freedoms and constitutional protections to subvert the system from the inside, below a photocopy of part of this document identified as government document GX3-85 in the Holy Land Foundation prosecution.

The effect of these revelations when taken together suggests a paradigm shift in the way America's Muslim Brotherhood affiliates should be dealt with, knowing that in the best reading these groups are constantly working to subvert this country from within and at worst are underground clones of Hamas, merely waiting for the right opportunity to spring into violent action.

Because the linking is so unambiguous and problematic, groups like CAIR, ISNA the NAIT [which holds a huge number of American mosques in a waqf, an Shari'a compliant Islamic trust] and their ilk by their Muslim Brotherhood linkage have identified themselves as extraordinary national security threats, deserving of intense surveillance. No longer can apologists for radical Islam claim that there is really any difference between them and the garden variety Islamist barbarians who daily wreak death and destruction in service of the Caliphate - it's time to permanently shutter these organizations, though the prospect of doing so in Obama's dhimmi administration seem unlikely.
