Media Disinformation Campaign Hits High Gear In Duka Case

May 5, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Although Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka were sentenced last week to life in prison for conspiring to wage jihad against military personnel at the Ft. Dix Army base located in New Jersey, elements of the media are engaged in a revisionist rewrite of the facts of the case, now proffering the Dukas as misunderstood patriots who were entrapped by federal prosecutors.
For example, according to a recent article in the Philadelphia Inquirer the mere names of the Duka brothers roofing companies - National roofing and Colonial roofing - along with the American flag logos they used in promoting them proves their patriotism.
"Before they were considered the country's premier example of homegrown terrorists, the three Duka brothers operated a business called National Roofing. Their advertisements featured the American flag and the slogan, "We roof America." They worked long hours and did jobs for free for the poor, their father said."
Unable to accept the fact that his sons were actively seeking to wage jihad against the New Jersey military installation, their father continues to proclaim their innocence, "my sons are hardworking people, good to the community, good to society."

What the Inquirer piece conveniently fails to mention is that prior to adopting patriotic names for their companies the Dukas ran two businesses with Arabic names - Qadr which means destiny and Inshallah which means "if God wills it" - though their country of origin is Albania [the Dukas were illegal aliens] not an Arabic speaking country.
In another story Luigi Gaueci, the brother in law of one of the Fort Dix Six declared via the press, "They wouldnt have named their companies "Colonial" and "National" if they didn't love this country. The New York Times has also made a contribution to this disinformation campaign conjuring up an image of the hard working but misunderstood immigrant, "And there were the Dukas, ages 23, 26 and 28, who came to this country illegally more than a decade ago. The brothers, like so many of their relatives and fellow ethnic Albanian immigrants in the area, have owned a pizzeria and two roofing companies." Quick to join the fray and spinning madly, several Islamist organizations and individuals have rallied around the Dukas.
The terror friendly Hamas mouthpiece Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR] has stated it would "monitor the [Dukas] appeals process."
Mauri Saalakhan, a vile anti-Semite who runs the so-called "Peace and Justice Foundation" was at the Duka sentencing to show support. Salaakhan is a conspiracy theorist who writes articles with titles such as "Zacharias Moussaoui - A Legal Lynching?"
He also wrote an article in defense of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, the "Blind Sheikh," architect of the first World Trade Center bombing.
"Time and space limitations will not permit me to explore this issue in any more detail at this time; let it suffice to say, the US Department of Justice moved forward with a baseless multi-count criminal indictment against the blind hafiz al-Quran, with the most serious charge being "seditious conspiracy" against the United States."

Another Islamist support group, Project Salam is also defending the Duka brothers along with a laundry list of domestic terrorists including Rafil Dhafir who was jailed on terrorism related charges, Lynne Stewart, the Blind Sheik's attorney who was convicted on charges of passing information along to a Middle East terrorist group [disbarred and sentenced to 28 months in prison] and Sami Al Arian, a self-confessed terrorist and member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Following what has become an established pattern, these media organizations have actively conspired with the perps and their radical Muslim supporters to present an agendized and wholly fraudulent defense on their behalf, rewriting history in a particularly obvious manner along the way.
