Imran Mandhi was convicted in 2003 of planning to use explosives and wage Jihad against the United States and Shueyb Mossa Jokhan, was convicted together with Mandhi for planning to blow up Jewish businesses, FPL electrical facilities and a national guard armory.

Adhan Shukrijumah , is currently the focus of a nation wide manhunt, in the belief he is planning bombing targets in the United States using a radiological device or "dirty bomb" and Padilla is in jail on a terrorism conviction.

On his website Mohammed posted a picture of himself and Ahmed Deedat, the now deceased head of the Islamic Propagation Center in South Africa, which was funded by Osama bin Laden and housed in a building called the Bin Laden Centre. Deedat has boasted that he met Osama bin Laden several times and said the U.S. would always use him as a"scapegoat". (Also see below).

Mohammed also made a video tape with Raed Awad, the former Imam of a Florida mosque who converted Jose Padilla. The tape was titled: "Who Is Better Than One Who Invites To Allah? and The Leader & the Follower on the Day of Judgment". Awad was a registered agent of the Holy Land Foundation, which was the subject of a terror funding trial with the defendants being convicted on all 108 counts of funding Hamas.

Awad is also linked to Adnan Hassoun, the registered agent of the Benevolence International Foundation which was linked to Al Qaeda. Hassoun is currently in jail on terrorism related charges.Mohammed was also friends with Gulshair Shukrijumah a Wahhabi missionary and radical Islamist with links to the 1993 WTC bombers. Shukrijumah's son, Adnan is wanted by the FBI on charges that he wants to detonate a dirty bomb in the United States He worshipped at Dar Ul Uloom.

Mohammed is head of the Caribbean American Islamic Association which was housed in Gulshair Shukrijumah's Mosque, Masjid Al Hijrah, located in Miramar Florida where Mohammed also lives.

"Khalid Sheik Mohammed claimed that Adnan Shukrijumah was designated as "Mohammed Atta's sucessor ."Gulshair Shukrijumah was sent to America by the Saudis as an 'Islamic missionary' and is a veteran of the "first wave' of the Al Qaeda terrorism network which came to the US in the 1980's to set up operational bases for Jihad. Gulshair Shukrijimah was a character witness on behalf of Clement Hampton El, a Jihadist who became a "Mujahid" holy warrior in Bosnia and was convicted of planning to blow up the Lincoln Tunnel, the U.N., and other N.Y. landmarks."

Mohammed interviewed two FBI agents together with the director of the Dar Ul Uloom Institute and Islamic Training Center, Abzal Hosein. He posted the interview on Al-Hikmat the website of the Dar Ul Uloom Institute and Islamic Training Center together with pictures. The questions asked were designed to put the FBI on the defensive and epitomised the Islamic mindset.

Two examples:

2. What is the FBI doing to prevent racial profiling by other law enforcement organizations?

3. Muslims feel they are always under scrutiny by the government. What has the FBI done to show this is not true?

Interview With The

Miami - Special Agent

In a recent interview between Al-Hikmat editor and FBI Special Agent ASAC Stu McArthur, at the FBI Miami Headquarters - the following were some of the questions and answers. Also present were FBI Special Agent Ms. Judy Orihuela and Darul Uloom Director, Bro. Abzal Hosein.

From Left: Shaikh Shafayat & ASAC Stu Mc.Arthur

Some of the questions asked by Al-Hikmat's editor:

1. Individuals get solicited for donations by all sorts of charitable organizations. How

can Muslims be sure they are not funding terrorism?

2. What is the FBI doing to prevent racial profiling by other law enforcement organizations?

3. Muslims feel they are always under scrutiny by the government. What has the FBI done to show this is not true?

4 .How can the Muslim community help the FBI to protect this country from terrorists?

5. Moderate Muslims are usually accused of harboring terrorism - When the Muslim community tips off law enforcement about questionable behaviors, why is this not broadcast by the media?

6. What could the FBI do to educate airport authorities, police and other law enforcement agencies, so that they would act and be more professional with Muslims.

7. Since 911 what is the FBI doing to educate other government agencies about Islam and Muslims e.g. politicians, preachers and the public etc.

8 .What are some of the signs of Terrorism or Suspicious behavior that people could be aware off?

9. What do you recommend the government should do to educate the Muslim world about the FBI, and the FBI about Islam and the Muslim world ( like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia etc.)- so that there would be no hate and mistrust?

10. Many Muslims who have been approved for green card - complain that their files are delayed with the FBI, hence the reason why they haven't received their Green Card. What is normally the delay?

When contributing to any charitable organization, due dilligence should prevail in the decision making process. Ask yourself: "does the organization have a reputation for providing support to terrorism?" The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) should be consulted by checking the "Specially Designated Nationals List." OFAC administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, and those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. OFAC's web site is located at:

* The FBI is committed to the fight against terrorism... whichever political party is in power... the FBI is an independent agency within the Department of Justice.

*The FBI doesn't engage in racial profiling. We have a good understanding of Muslims and Islamic Centers. Our enemy are not the Muslims, but rather the enemy is the terrorist. We are involved in active programs to educate State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. The FBI is not about targeting Muslims. We want the Muslims to know that we are here to protect them. We also recognize the fact that Muslims are a substantial part of the USA.

* We try our best to meet Muslim leaders to find out about their concerns, so it is expected that they would educate their communities.

* We have the FBI Citizens Academy where we bring in people from the community to be educated about the FBI.

*People should be actively involved in working with law enforcement agencies to help protect this country and its people.

*The FBI doesn't hold up files because of race or religion. People need to check with the appropriate department to follow up their cases.

A SA Islamic activist has forged strong ties with the Bin Laden family, receiving substantial funding from them and, in the process, meeting Osama bin Laden, the man named as prime suspect in this week's terror attacks.

Yousuf Deedat, 45, who triggered a storm when he distributed thousands of anti-Semitic handbills featuring a picture of Adolf Hitler during the World Conference Against Racism in Durban last week, said he first met Bin Laden in 1989.

Deedat and his father, Muslim scholar Ahmed Deedat, met Bin Laden on several other occasions in Saudi Arabia that year and in the 1990s while they were drumming up support for the Islamic Propagation Centre International in Durban.

"He was quiet-spoken, respectful and humble. When he met my father, he did not look him in the eye. That is the greatest honour an Arab can bestow on an elder," said Deedat.

The Deedats have had close links with the Bin Laden family since first meeting Osama's elder brother, Sheikh Bakr bin Laden, in 1986. Since then, many of the 27 Bin Laden brothers have contributed generously to the centre. Sheikh Bakr alone gave the centre $3.1-million over eight years to buy a building, print the Koran in English and Zulu, and print and distribute Islamic literature.

In appreciation, the Deedats named their building in Durban's Victoria Street after the family in 1988.

During his tenure as secretary-general of the propagation centre, the Bin Ladens reportedly paid Yousuf Deedat a monthly salary of R900 000.

Deedat said Bin Laden had invited him on a number of occasions to attend his lectures in Saudi Arabia. "He moved me to tears. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke in public, he had this magnetic effect on all who listened to him." Whether he was guilty or not, Deedat said, the US would always use him as a scapegoat".

MIM: Yousef Deedat's Hitler handbills ask : "What if I had won?"

Buddy Naidu

A South African who claims to have close links to international terrorist Osama Bin Laden has admitted responsibility for printing anti-Semitic handbills - featuring a picture of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler - which caused a storm at the World Conference Against Racism in Durban this week.

Yousuf Deedat, the son of fiery Muslim scholar Ahmed Deedat, said he distributed the handbills to encourage debate on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The handbill, which infuriated Jewish delegates, features a picture of Hitler and poses the question: "What if I had won?"

The answer below reads: "There would be no Israel and no Palestinian's blood shed. The rest is your guess."

The wealthy Deedat family admitted being "good friends" with billionaire Bin Laden after the bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania three years ago.

Ahmed Deedat admitted that the Bin Laden family had contributed "generously" to the coffers of his organisation, the Islamic Propagation Centre (IPCI).

A report at the time said that Yousuf Deedat, 45, in his capacity as secretary-general of the IPCI, was paid a monthly salary of R900 000 by the Saudi family to propagate Islam in South Africa.

Over the years, about $3-million (R25-million) has been channelled into the centre's bank accounts by the Bin Laden family.

Bin Laden is the FBI's most-wanted terrorist with a $5-million (R42-million) price on his head.

The US State Department called the wealthy terrorist "one of the most significant sponsors of Islamic extremist activities in the world today".

He has also been linked to the 1993 World Trade Centre blast and the bombing of a US naval ship in Yemen last year. He is believed to be living in Afghanistan where he enjoys the protection of the Taliban regime.

Yousuf Deedat is unrepentant about the handbills . "I encourage open debate. That is the beauty of democracy ," he said.

Referring to this week's walkout by the US and Israel, he said people should not be "dogmatic and walk away from discussion like cowards".

"With regard to the picture of Hitler, whether it makes sense or not, I want people to think, thus stimulating the mind to debate issues ."

He said he did not hate Jews but rather the "injustices done to others, like my brothers and sisters in Palestine".

Deedat, who spends hundreds of thousands of rands a month promoting his father's books, said the Bin Ladens had sponsored his family over the years.

He admitted being paid a salary by the Bin Laden family but refused to confirm whether he had received close to R1-million a month from them during his tenure at the IPCI.

Yehuda Kay, of the SA Jewish Board of Deputies, lambasted Deedat's "concerted campaign" against the Jewish people.

"It is the most vile, disgusting and racist material that has been seen since the Nazi propaganda period. It just stirs up racial and religious tension," said Kay.

Israeli Peleg Reshef, the chairman of the Union of Jewish Students, said the attack epitomised what the Israeli delegation had seen and been subjected to during their stay in the country.

American Stacy Burdett, of the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish lobby group, said the handbill implied that the only way to maintain Palestinian rights would be to exterminate Jewish people.

"The conflict in Israel is over land, not the extermination of one group over another," she said.

Besides offering the favorite books of Ahmed Deedat on the ICPI website such as "Suicide Bomber or Martyr?" the ICPI offers a selection of Sheik Ahmed Deedat writings including : Crucifixion or CRUCIFICTION? Was Christ Crucified ? and a video tape of a "wonderful seminar" with Ahmed Deedat and Paul Findley , director of the CNI (Council for the National Interest Director) . The tape is entitled "Is Israel Set Up for Destruction?"

Who Is Better Than One Who Invites To Allah? and The Leader & the Follower on the Day of Judgment (Shafayat Mohamed, Raed Awad

MIM: Raed Awad made a tape together with Dar Ul Uloom Imam Maulana Shafayat Mohammed, about Islam being the only true religion, which is sold by the Meccacentric Da'wa (prostlytising) Group. Awad and his friend Mohammed both mentored dirty bomber wannabe Jose Padilla on his road to Islam and terrorism. Maulana Shafayat Mohammed's Darul Ul Uloom Islamic Training Center was under investigation for ties to several Jihadi wannabes, including Padilla's bomb making buddy inPakistan, Adnan Shukrijumah who was also living in Florida before fleeing the US as one of America's most wanted terrorist fugitives.

Shukrijumah came to appear as a blip on the FBI's radar screen in March, 2001, after special agents in Miami launched an investigation of the Darul Uloom Institute and Islamic Training Center, which operates out of a large storefront on the Hollywood/Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines. The agents were interested in the activities of Imran Mandhai, who frequented the mosque and stated his intention to create a jihad cell that would consist of 25 or 30 men, including his pal, Adnan el Shukrijumah. The cell, Mandhai maintained, would target electric substations, Jewish institutions, a National Guard armory, even Mount Rushmore.

MIM: Awad's ties to international terrorism lead from Florida to Afghanistan, .Awad oversaw Padilla's conversion at the Al Imam Masjid in Florida, is the registered agent for the Hamas terror funding front the Holyland Foundation, worked together with Adnan Hassoun, the registered agent of BIF, the Benevolence International Foundation, an Al Qaeda funding front, to raise funding to send Padilla for ‘religious training in the Middle East' where he ended up joining forces at a terrorist training camp in Afganistan with dirty bomber wannabe Adnan Shukrijumah (also a former Florida resident) .

Hassoun is currently in jail on terrorism charges and Padilla is awaiting trial in Miami , on charges of conspiring to build and detonate a dirty bomb.Hassoun was a member of Awad's mosque and the Birmingham Islamic Society where he is billed as a 'volunteer' Imam and teacher. The website of the BIS carried a link to BIF in 2001.

MIM: An account of Awad's fundraising and domestic abuse activities appeared in a lengthy article in the Miami New Times entitled: "A Tale of Two Mosques"

José Padilla, whom the Bush administration alleges was plotting to detonate a radioactive bomb in the United States for al Qaeda before his arrest, attended religious classes at the liberal Darul Uloom, but his real spiritual home after converting to Islam in 1992 was Masjid Al-Iman.

MIM: Mohammed on jihad from the Dar Ul Uloom da'wa brochure. According to him jihad actually does mean holy war because it entails a "tremendous struggle" and terrorism by Muslims "may be a result of their anger".

The word "jihad" does not mean "holy war." Instead, it means the inner struggle that one endures in trying to practice Islam. Some Muslims may say they are going for "jihad" when fighting in a war to defend their faith; but they only say this because they are conceding that it will be a tremendous struggle. There are many forms of jihad (struggle) such as the struggle against self-desire, against a tyrant ruler and against the Devil himself.

Terrorism and unjustified violence are not allowed in Islam. Islam is a religion of peace.

The extreme actions of those who claim to be Muslim may be a result of their anger, ignorance, traditional or cultural beliefs.

MIM: In this video Mohammed justifies jihad and claims that Muslim acts of terrorism are committed by "ignorant" people. He uses the analogy of an American soldier who will be considered a coward if he does not fight back when attacked.
