CAIR Courts Hatred Of Jews In Recent Cyber Action

By WILLIAM MAYER

December 12, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - On December 11 a New York based Jewish periodical, the Five Towns Jewish Times, published a thought provoking column on the subject of Muslim terrorism by Lawrence Kulak [see, The Appropriate Response To Islamic Terror, http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:-Jz30rqwkNUJ:www.5tjt.com/news/read.asp%3FId%3D3539+%22Moreover,+the+only+way+to+deal+with+Islamic+terrorists+is+the+same+way+in+which+they+deal%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us].

Since then, the Council on American Islamic Relations, a Saudi funded Hamas mouthpiece has mounted a cyber jihad against the publication. As a result of Kulak's piece being featured in CAIR's December 11 'Net based newsletter, the discussion thread following the article was swamped with intemperate remarks, mostly anonymous and often barely literate, to the point where, we must assume, the publisher decided to pull it because it had become an eyesore.

In that communication, CAIR represented the article as follows, "NY Columnist Says Kill 'Innocent' Muslims (5 Towns Jewish Times)."

In the December 12 edition, the language regarding the now lead article characterized Kulak's words as incitement to "Kill" Muslims.

NY Jewish Leaders Asked to Repudiate Columnist's Call to 'Kill' Muslims CAIR-NY: 'Such inflammatory comments have no place in reasoned public discourse' (NEW YORK, NY, 12/12/08) The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today called on leaders of the Jewish community in that state to repudiate a columnist for a Jewish newspaper who called for the killing of "innocent" Muslims.

We believe this is an intentional effort by CAIR to stoke anti-Jewish sentiment among the group's predominately Muslim readership by misrepresenting the thrust of what Mr. Kulak said.

CAIR's first reference, featured an excerpt from the 1,700 word essay, "Moreover, the only way to deal with Islamic terrorists is the same way in which they deal with their victims. Muslims believe in the literal interpretation of the Biblical doctrine of an eye for an eye, and they do not have respect for anything perceived as a lesser standard of justice. They killed our innocents, and unless we kill theirs, they will go on killing ours."

What CAIR failed to do was provide any perspective or context.

Early in the piece the author related an incident in the recent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in which Israel's IDF went to extreme lengths to warn Lebanese civilians [with whom Hezbollah intentionally comingled to avoid reprisal, to the extent of placing offensive missile batteries among and between residential civilian apartment buildings in Lebanon] to leave the targeted areas. He further observed that such extreme deference to ethical sensibilities was in part responsible for the less than satisfactory outcome of the conflict from Israel's viewpoint.

Following the above paragraph, Kulak dealt with the issue of intentionally targeting innocent civilians, "While no army should go out of its way to harm a civilian population in times of war, during the legitimate pursuit of an enemy that has instigated an attack against its people, a nation may defend itself with whatever means necessary, even if it includes causing death to civilians."

It should have been clear by any fair reading of the entire piece that far from being an incitement to "Kill Muslims," it was a rational discussion of the problems inherent in dealing with Muslim enemies who intentionally shield their often non-uniformed fighters among civilian populations, in essence taking them hostage.

As is usual in such cases CAIR's notorious record remains largely unexamined, a very good thing...for CAIR.

A few facts concerning CAIR.

  • CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations grew out of the Islamic Association for Palestine [IAP], the American public relation's arm for Hamas. The IAP was created by Mousa Abu Marzook in 1981. Marzook is a high ranking Hamas political operative, believed to now be living in Syria.
  • Many of IAP's senior leadership took similar positions with CAIR. For all practical considerations IAP merged into CAIR the mid 1990s.
  • Along the way Marzook gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to a phony U.S. based Muslim charity called the Holy Land Foundation [HLF].
  • HLF was just convicted on November 24 of funneling at least $12 million dollars to Hamas.
  • CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in that trial.
  • What is an unindicted co-conspirator?
  • In a 1998 interview with Stuart Taylor a reporter for the American Lawyer and Legal Times he defined the term, using an individual rather than an organization to explain:

"…that we [the prosecution] believe this man was part of the criminal conspiracy, along with the people who are on trial…."
  • So the government in a successful terror prosecution of 5 defendants apparently felt justified [and CAIR's legal effort to remove their co-conspirator status was rejected by the courts] in stating that CAIR was closely tied to the criminal conspiracy in which HLF engaged and for which the group was convicted.
  • One of the 5 convicted terrorists in the HLF case was Ghassan Elashi. Mr. Elashi founded the Texas chapter of CAIR. Elashi was already serving a long prison sentence prior to his most recent conviction, having been found guilty of additional terror charges in the Infocom case.
  • In 1994 the DC chapter of CAIR was in part funded by a $5,000 electronic transfer from the Holy Land Foundation.
  • CAIR has historically, always demured when given a chance to specifically and by name identify Hamas as a terrorist group. This despite Hamas having been named in a 1995 Clinton executive order as such. At the time, CAIR questioned Hamas' designation with spokesman Ibrahim Hooper engaging in the group's transparent Jew bashing, "We've been fearing something like this for a long time because there have been elements in the pro-Israeli lobby accusing Muslim groups of raising money for these kinds of purposes, with no evidence whatsoever of diversion of funds." [source, Steven Emerson, Investigative Project, Part 4: CAIR Remains Apologist for Terrorist Hamas, Seeks To Silence Critics, http://www.investigativeproject.org/article/627]
  • How does this brief historical recitation - there is much more with other members of CAIR having been convicted of terrorist activities - affect the organization's charges regarding the small Jewish publication, the Five Towns Jewish Times?

At very least it casts serious doubt as to CAIR's moral authority to accuse others of incitement to violence, since it is so closely entwined with genuine terrorists and terrorist entities.

How can this happen? How can such a tainted organization, a group of extremist thugs actually, hope to prevail in such a blatant effort to stoke the hating of Jews?

In large part it is because many in the West have been influenced, to a nearly pathological degree, by the ideology of multiculturalism. This mindset is largely a product of post modernism which enforces a relativistic moral blindness. In such an environment, the media almost without exception refrain from linking Islamic extremism with terrorism, even though that relationship is as plain as the perpetrators of such tragedies as Mumbai, 9/11 and the Chechen massacre of Russian children in Beslan.

CAIR and its Islamist brethren benefit mightily from this practice of intentional omission and self-censorship, allowing these bad players to create personas which are self-serving fables, confident that in order to avoid spurious charges of Islamophobia, their histories - as related by the media - will be expunged of misdeeds or simply not mentioned at all.

In the case of CAIR they will remain a "civil rights" group, despite the fact of their terror friendliness

While much of the typical CAIR newsletter is laden with flowery ecumenical rhetoric for example, "It is well known, particularly in this holiday season, that Christians follow the teachings of Jesus. What is less well understood is that Muslims also love and revere Jesus as one of God's greatest messengers to mankind."[source, December 11 newsletter] their delusional outlook is at the same time sometimes odly manifested in what must appear as blasphemous statements to many Christian literalists:

"Prophet Muhammad said: "Both in this world and in the Hereafter, I am the nearest of all people to Jesus, the son of Mary. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one." [source, ibid]

What this episode concerning the 5 Towns Jewish Times really demonstrates is CAIR's schizophrenia, one forged between its fraudulent public persona and its real-world, relentless pursuit of stealth jihad, abetted by intentional disingenuousness. http://www.pipelinenews.org/index.cfm?page=jtimesid=12.12.08%2Ehtm
