CAIR's Support Of Terrorist Sami Al-Arian Proves Organization's Jihadist Sympathies

March 20, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In the most recent issue of the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR, the Saudi-funded unindicted co-conpirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror prosecution] newsletter, the radical Islamist organization is asking its membership to support confessed terrorist Sami Al-Arian, Federal prisoner #40939-018:

"The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on American Muslims and other people of conscience to write letters in support of Dr. Sami Al-Arian, a former Florida professor currently on his second hunger strike in federal detention to protest alleged unjust treatment by U.S. authorities."

In this same communication CAIR provides a link to the "Free Sami Al-Arian - How to Help" website, which is associated with numerous Islamo-Fascist groups including the Muslim American Society [American wing of the Muslim Brotherhood], the Blue Triangle Network based in "Dearbornistan," Michigan and CAIR itself.

In Federal Court proceedings, Al-Arian admitted, as part of a plea bargain, that he was indeed guilty as charged, that he was a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, had worked to spread the group's ideology and had involved numerous others in this terrorist enterprise including Al-Arian's brother-in-law Mazen Al-Najjar, who has since been deported.

In court Al-Arian plead guilty to, "conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad," an admission that he was a terrorist. According to an April 17, 2006 DOJ press release:

"...Former University of South Florida professor Sami Al-Arian has pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring to provide services to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a specially designated terrorist organization, in violation of U.S. law, the Department of Justice announced today?Al-Arian pleaded guilty to Count Four of the indictment against him - a charge of conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad...Al-Arian's agreement with the government calls for a recommended prison sentence of 46 to 57 months in prison, based on a five-year maximum statutory sentence. Al-Arian, 48, who has been in custody since his arrest on Feb. 20, 2003, has agreed to stipulate to deportation to another country by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement once his prison sentence has ended..." 1

So why would the "moderate" CAIR be asking its membership to help Al-Arian and represent this jihadist merely as an unfortunate "political prisoner?"

The answer centers on the relationship between CAIR and Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group created by the Muslim Brotherhood. As noted in these pages numerous times, CAIR has always refused to specifically and by name reject Hamas as a terrorist entity, despite the fact that the group is listed by the State Department as such. That is because CAIR was created on a model provided by the Muslim Brotherhood, as a stealth jihad organization, to support and further the virulent ideology of Hamas.

By its continued support of Al-Arian the Council on American Islamic Relations removes all pretense of moderation and proves that is a willing participant in radical Islam's stealth jihad. As such CAIR constitutes a clear and present danger to national security.
