Dutch police scramble to change compass placement after Muslim detainees pray with backsides towards Mecca

April 13, 2007

MIM: We will doubtless see a European CAIR office soon be established to exploit the litigation potential of atrocities against Muslims such as this one.
With the backside towards Mecca Muslims arrestees in The Hague may possibly have prayed with their backsides towards Mekka instead of their heads. The police are enormously shocked by the blunder and has corrected the mistake this evening. Since the beginning of April compasses were put on the ceilings of the cells "meant as a service for Muslims who are arrested" a spokesman explained. Muslims must pray five times a day. In a cell in the Segbroek bureau the compass was placed the wrong way and the holy place was designated in the opposite direction. These compasses will also be hung up in other bureaus in the Hague "but the in the right way!"

(GPD)
