Ali Izetbetkovic and the true face of the Muslims/Mujahideen in Bosnia -from the SS to Srebrenica

July 6, 2006

MIM: The killing of Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica was painted as genocide and brought international calls for the establishment of an Islamic state in Bosnia. What the press and public ignored was that the Bosnian Muslims were not innocent bystanders caught up in war. The Bosnian Muslims had been joined by foreign Jihadis and had been attacking Serbian towns and deliberately provoked the attack which lead to the 'Srebrenica massacre' in a mercenary effort to garner international sympathy for their cause. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/2078

The Bosnian Muslims are known as 'the white Al Qaeda' (favored for missions in the West because they do not look Middle Eastern ) .Bosnia continues tot be a training camp for Jihadis. In the 1940's a contingent of Bosnian Muslims /Nazis known as Hanjar (curved swords) was blessed by Mufti Al Haj Al Husseini who had moved to Berlin tfrom Jerusalem to ally with Hitler . (see below)

"... The first and foremost of such conclusions is surely the one on the incompatibility of Islam and non-Islamic systems. There can be no peace or coexistence between the "Islamic faith" and non- Islamic societies and political institutions. ... Islam clearly excludes the right and possibility of activity of any strange ideology on its own turf. Therefore, there is no question of any laicistic principles, and the state should be an expression and should support the moral concepts of the religion. ..." page 22 "The Islamic Declaration" book ("Islamska deklaracija"), written by Mr. Alija Izetbegovic, Bosnian Muslim leader.

In preparing the ground for the conflicts between Bosnian Cristians (Croats and Serbs) and Bosnian Muslims, residents of different Arab countries who in the B&H had recognized the elements and challenge of "a holy war" - jihad. Coming from different Arab countries, most of them were from Yemen, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia and Afghanistan, and bringing with them experience from a war from some of the Islamic trouble spots.

Mujahedin, or «holy warriors», is a generic term for Muslim volunteers fighting in the former Yugoslavia. Many Mujahedin originate from Muslim countries outside the former Yugoslavia. It was reported that the Mujahedin began arriving in BiH as early as June 1992. (Tom Post & Joel Brand, «Help from the Holy Warriors», Newsweek, 5 October 1992, at 52). Reports on the number of Mujahedin forces operating in BiH vary, but it is unlikely that the Mujahedin forces have made a significant military contribution to the BiH Government's war effort (Christopher Lockwood, «Muslim Nations Offer Troops», Daily Telegraph, 14 July 1993, at 14. According to Lockwood, Muslim nations depended on Western logistical support to deliver troops to BiH. He concludes that the same logistical troubles which kept the Muslim troops promised in July of 1993 from joining UN forces in the UN declared «safe havens» also limited the number of Muslim volunteers in the BiH armed forces. He states that the number of Mujahedin in BiH never exceeded three or four hundred. See also Mohamed Sid-Ahmad, «Muslim World Between Two Fires», War Report, January 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 63744. However, the Belgrade Daily, Vecernje Novosti, reported that as many as 30,000 Mujahedin were operating in BiH. «Other Reports in Brief: Muslims from Abroad Settling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgrade Daily Claims», BBC, Summary of World Broadcasts, 19 September 1992. )

The Mujahedin forces came from several Muslim states and many of them were veterans of the Afghan war. (Andrew Hogg, «Arabs Join in Bosnia Battle», Sunday Times, 30 August 1992)

Reports submitted to the Commission of Experts alleged that the Mujahedin have been responsible for the mutilation and killing of civilians, rape, looting, the destruction of property, and the expulsion of non-Muslim populations. The deputy commander of the BiH Army, Colonel Stjepan Siber, has said, «it was a mistake to let them [the Mujahedin] here . . . They commit most of the atrocities and work against the interests of the Muslim people. They have been killing, looting and stealing.» Andrew Hogg, «Terror Trail of the Mujahedin», Sunday Times, 27 June 1993.

Several reports indicate that the Mujahedin were placed under the command of the BiH Army.(See «Some 400 Mujahedin Volunteers Fighting with Bosnian Muslims», Agence France Presse, 22 September 1992; Andrew Hogg, «Arabs Join in Bosnia Battle», Sunday Times, 30 August 1992; see also Charles McLoed, ECMM, «Report on Inter-Ethnic Violence in Vitez, Busovaca and Zenica», April 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 20178- 20546, at 20207; Croatian Information Centre, Weekly Bulletin, No. 9, 4 October 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 36434-36438, at 36435; US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62648, 62724, 62730, and 62756)

The Mujahedin forces were closely associated with the 5th Corps, the 6th and 7th Zenica Brigades, the 7th Travnik Brigade, and the 45th Muslim Brigade which belongs to the 6th Corps in Konjic of the Army of BiH (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62648; see also Croatian Information Centre, Weekly Bulletin, No. 9, 4 October 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 36434-36438, at 36435; «Continuing Clashes in Northwestern Enclave Reported from Both Sides», BBC, Summary of World Broadcasts, 14 December 1993.)

They also allegedly fought alongside the Muslim Police, the Krajiska Brigade from Travnik, units of Kosovo Muslims, Albanian soldiers, and paramilitary groups such as the «Green Legion» and the «Black Swans».(Charles McLoed, ECMM, Report on Inter-Ethnic Violence in Vitez, Busovaca and Zenica, April 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 20178-20546, at 20207; Croatian Information Centre, Weekly Bulletin, No. 9, 4 October 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 36434-36438, at 36435; US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62648, 62724, 62730, and 62756.)

Reports also indicate that the Mujahedin had the support of President Izetbegovic and his government. *57 This was demonstrated in the Bihac pocket, where the Mujahedin joined BiH forces loyal to Izetbegovic. Together, these forces battled separatist forces who entered into a separate peace treaty with Bosnian Serbs («Continuing Clashes in Northwestern Enclave Reported form Both Sides», BBC, Summary of World Broadcasts, 14 December 1993)

In Zenica, between 31 August and 2 September 1992, 250 Mujahedin troops allegedly come to BiH from Turkey, Qatar, Bahrain and Iran. These troops worked alongside the Green Legion and HOS paramilitary groups stationed in Zenica. The Mujahedin allegedly also operated a camp at Arnauti.(Charles McLeod, ECMM, Report on Inter-Ethnic Violence in Vitez, Buscovaca and Zenica, April 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 29043-29131, at 29064; Biljaja Plavsic, Republic of Serbia Presidency, To Serbs All Over the World, 30 September 1992, IHRLI Doc. No. 48072- 48093, at 48081)

It was reported that a unit of the Mujahedin, called the «Guerilla», participated in the 16 April 1993 attack on Vitez and attempted to exchange 10 HVO hostages for foreign prisoners held in HVO prisons. (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62629; see also Charles McLeod, ECMM, Report on Inter-Ethnic Violence in Vitez, Busovaca and Zenica, April 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 29043-29131, at 29072 (attack on Vitez).

The Croatian Ministry of Defence is reported to have provided information about an event occurring in June 1993 -- a joint BiH/Mujahedin unit reportedly attacked Travnik, allegedly forcing 4,000 Croatian civilians and military personnel out of the town. (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62650. Media reports however claim that Croats left Travnik voluntarily. The incident was investigated by an organization, which reported that the forceful eviction did not take place)

The Mujahedin allegedly fought alongside the 6th Muslim Brigade from Zenica and the Krajiska Brigade from Travnik. Witnesses stated that they saw Mujahedin operating in small patrols ahead of the approaching BiH troops.

According to HVO intelligence, Mujahedin forces arrived in Travnik sometime before June 1993 and came from Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. The Mujahedin trained at a camp at Mehurici, where they were allegedly financed and equipped by a man named Abdulah, the owner of the «Palma» video store in Travnik. Once in town, the Mujahedin were linked to the Seventh Brigade of the BiH Army, and were reportedly assembled into units of 10 to 15 men, and moved about on regular patrols. The Mujahedin created tension in Travnik in the days prior to the attack on 3 June. One witness stated that the Mujahedin directed their actions towards the HVO personnel in town. They allegedly demonstrated, shouted slogans and fired their rifles in the air.

Mujahedin allegedly participated in the attack on Maljine in Novi Travnik on 8 June 1993, killing 20 to 30 HVO members and transporting Croatian women and children to the training centre at Mehurici.(Croatian Information Centre, Weekly Bulletin, No. 1, 9 August 1993)

In Konjic, the Mujahedin were part of a 100 member force stationed at Liscioi and led by Haso Hakalovic. The unit was assembled in February 1993 and included some Kosovo Muslims and members of the Black Swans from the Igman mountain region. (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62756)

Allegedly, Mujahedin troops killed and expelled villagers, and looted and burned homes, when they moved against the Jablanica- Konjic area. The Mujahedin troops and members of the Black Swans reportedly conducted occasional raids without members of BiH forces. (at IHRLI Doc. No. 62752 and 62756. The village of Vrci was attacked on 25 May, and the village of Radesine was attacked on 10 June. See also Tadeusz Mazowiecki, Fifth Periodic Report on the Situation of Human Rights in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia, U.N. Doc. E/CN.4/1994/47, 17 November 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 52399-52435, at 52405 (alleging that the Mujahedin were involved in attacks at Kopjari on 21 October, Doljani on 27 and 28 June, and Maljane on 8 June). UN Special Rapporteur Mazowiecki claims that corpses of Mujahedin victims displayed evidence of protracted cruelty and mutilation. )

Reportedly, the Mujahedin volunteers arrived in Konjic in small groups. It was reported that they were from Afghanistan and that they claimed to be students. They were allegedly armed with Hekleri automatic weapons and former JNA equipment. Some Mujahedin were reportedly former students with no military experience.

Mujahedin forces were present in Mostar since early June 1993. They were reportedly stationed in the Santica neighbourhood on the Muslim/HVO front, where they manned bunkers, usually in groups of six or seven, armed with 7.62 millimetre semi-automatic weapons, machine-guns, and Zolja anti-tank weapons. They were billeted in a building they shared with the Muslim military police on the east bank of the Neretva River. The Mujahedin forces apparently left Mostar on 15 August. (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62742 and 62677. For more details on the location of the Neretva living quarters, see Id. at 62739)

FRY reported that the Mujahedin began operations near Teslic in July and August of 1992. Troops from Saudi Arabia allegedly killed three Serbian Territorial Defence members and placed the victims' severed heads on poles near the «Tesanj turret». (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Second Report Submitted to the Commission of Experts, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 28401-29019, at 28533)

Beheadings of Serbs by Mujahedin forces have also been reported in other areas.

The Mujahedin were also alleged to be part of the forces that invaded the village of Trusina near Foca on 15 April 1993. According to the report, attackers wore white ribbons on their arms and fought beside Albanian Muslim troops. Twenty-two civilians reportedly died in the attack. (US Department of State, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 62612-62877, at 62648; Croatian Information Centre, Weekly Bulletin, No. 9, 4 October 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 36434-36438, at 36435)

The Mujahedin allegedly performed crude circumcisions upon Serbian police forces, who were later treated by an American surgeon at the Kosevo hospital in Sarajevo. (Letter dated 7 December 1992 from the Deputy Representative of the US to U.N. Secretary-General, U.N. Doc. S/24918, 8 December 1992, IHRLI Doc. No. 3160-3177, at 3173; Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Second Report Submitted to the Commission of Experts, 1993, IHRLI Doc. No. 28401-29019, at 28566)

The Second Coming of Alija Izetbegovic

Bosnia-Herzegovina prepares for "election" challenge.

"In our land with our faith" was the slogan of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) during the multi-party elections in so-called multi-ethnic Bosnia-Herzegovina. At least, that was the Bosnia envisioned by Alija Izetbegovic, leader of the Bosnian Muslims and political head of the SDA.

There is nothing surprising about Izetbegovic´s politics. He has been an ardent Muslim fundamentalist since his youth and authored The Islamic Declaration in 1985. What is surprising is the unconditional support he has received from the United States. It is "carrots" for Izetbegovic and "sticks" for everyone else, to paraphrase U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. This one-sided strategy is supposed to ensure that the Dayton Accords survive.

Nowhere have Clinton´s politics been so duplicitous, backstabbing and treacherous as they have been in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Clinton Administration has waged undeclared and illegal wars for "human rights" and "multi-ethnic existence" in support of those most committed to America´s ideals, like the leader of the Bosnian Muslims, Alija Izetbegovic.

The "ideals" of Izetbegovic are clearly stated in his book The Islamic Declaration in which he wrote: "There can be neither peace nor coexistence between the Islamic faith and non-Islamic social and political institutions," and "The Islamic movement must and can take over political power as soon as it is morally and numerically so strong that it can not only destroy the existing non-Islamic power, but build up a new Islamic one."

With this exclusionary and discriminatory thinking at the helm of the country, there is no hope for multi-ethnicity in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Nonetheless, Alija Izetbegovic´s Bosnia has been the key recipient of political and financial aid from the democratic West during the past ten years.

However, the duplicity and chicanery does not end there. Why is Izetbegovic, the supreme Muslim commander, not accountable for war crimes committed by the notorious 7th Muslim Brigade? It is extremely disturbing that Izetbegovic has avoided the scrutiny and judgement of The Hague Tribunal as supreme commander of the Bosnian Muslim army which committed many war crimes in Sarajevo, Kozani, Konjic, Grabovica, Uzdol, Miletici, Dusina, and other places. (For more information see http://www.balkanpeace.org/wcs/wct/wctb/index.shtml)

And what about the war cimes committed by the 10th Mountain Brigade led by the convicted criminal Musan Topalovic-Caco? Izetbegovic must have known about the activities of Caco´s units and the murder of Serbian civilians in Sarajevo. As a reward for successfully carrying out assigned missions, Timur Numic, who handled the logistics for the 10th Mountain Brigade and indirectly involved in execution of Sarajevo Serbs by Caco´s units, is now a high functionary in the SDA and an Izetbegovic confidant. (For more information see http://www.balkanpeace.org/wcs/wct/wctb/wctb01.html)

Izetbegovic´s Resignation Takes his Party to Extreme Right

Many believe that Izetbegovic´s "pensioning off" is a tactical move with sinister overtones. Unbound by the constraints of office and the pesky rules of the occupying powers, Izetbegovic would be free to speak his mind and revive the Islamic fundamentalist rhetoric he is so noted for. This could give a boost to the sagging fortunes of the SDA and once again make it the favored Muslim party in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

It is expected Izetbegovic and the SDA will openly support militant Bosnian Muslim organizations like the Active Islamic Youth (AIO) which could be used to settle scores with political opponents like the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Also on the political hit list are media not disposed to the SDA party line. SDA´s actions against the Sarajevo daily "Dnevni Avaz" were so outrageous they elicited Izetbegovic´s condemnation by his staunchest supporters, the Clinton Administration. (For more information see http://www.balkanpeace.org/cib/bos/bos28.shtml)

It is difficult to predict the "international community´s" reaction if SDA turns more to right. We should remember that the same international community "aided" the Serb Democratic Side (SDS) during the latest local elections by arresting Momcilo Krajisnik.

With this arrest, Krajisnik, one of the SDS founders, was turned into a martyr and thus facilitated an election victory for the SDS.

If the "international community" wants democrats in the Muslim-Croat Federation, what are its options? The strongest candidate is Haris Silajdzic and his Party for Bosnia-Herzegovina. Unfortunately, Silajdzic is everything except a proponent of the Dayton Accords, which he continually mentions. His inclination towards an "integrated" Bosnia-Herzegovina automatically raises suspicions within the ranks of the two other significant nationalities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Serbs and Croats, who fear being outvoted by the numerically superior Muslims. It is unlikely that Silajdzic can count on the support of Serbs and Croats, or their political representatives. According to the National Democratic Institute in Washington (NDI), Silajdzic enjoys the support of 5% of Bosnian Croats while his support among Bosnian Serbs is less than 1%.

However, Bosnia-Herzegovina´s elections are full of surprises. In 1992 a strong precedent was set when the Constitution was contravened in order to achieve certain political goals. That´s how Croat and Muslim representatives voted for an "independent Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina" even though the Bosnian Constitution forbade such a move without the expressed consent of all three constituent nationalities. That precedent set the stage for war.

The alternatives are Zlatko Lagumdzija, leader of the Social Democratic Party, or Mostar mayor Safet Orucevic. Lagumdzija is one politician from the Muslim ranks who can win support from the two other nationalities and coalition partners in a future Bosnia-Herzegovina government. According to NDI, his support is 23% among Bosnian Croats, 15% among Bosnian Serbs, and 66% among Bosnian Muslims.

Safet Orucevic, who has leadership pretensions, is examining his options. The main factor in his decision to run as an independent or on the SDA ticket will be determined by what inducements or guarantees the U.S. puts on the table for him. Orucevic is talented, creative and calculating. That he is a U.S. "star on the rise" can be seen in the number of USAID projects in Mostar designed to create an electorate committed to Mayor Orucevic. At best, Orucevic should be looked at as a future candidate as his national profile is too low for the current elections.

For Bosnian Croats the situation is perfectly clear: the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of "Herceg-Bosna" is choosing between current leader Ante Jelavic and challenger Jadranko Prlic. The deciding factor will be the support each candidate receives from the Bosnian Croat armed forces and General Stanko Sopta-Baja. This former member of the notorious "Kaznjenicka Bojna " is considered one of the authors of the current HDZ political platform in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

With only three months to the elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina, everything is possible. One of the pressures already exerted on the Bosnian Serb entity is the question of a "united army" which Wolfgang Petrich, current international administrator of Bosnia-Herzegovina, is attempting to institute regardless of the fact that it would contravene the Dayton Accords.

According to a local saying, the best fishing is in murky waters, while in clear waters everything is easily seen. In retrospect, perhaps that is why Alija Izetbegovic has made it so far with U.S. support. By exacerbating tensions among the Muslim populace in Bosnia-Hercegovina, Alija Izetbegovic eliminates the smallest of opportunities for a long-term political and ethnic solution. Continuing tensions will only worsen until another spark blows the powder keg. Naturally, another problem in Europe is yet another opportunity for U.S. interests and intervention, as is the case in other geo-strategically important areas around the world.

Republic of Srpska Elections

When discussing politics in Bosnia-Herzegovina one must take into consideration the nationalities as well. In this case, Serbs and Muslims will decide the leadership in the Republic of Srpska. The elections in Republic of Srpska can either be simple or complex.

Following the ban on the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) by the international administrator of Bosnia-Herzegovina - a move which contravenes the principles of democracy propagated by the West - there are a few options for the Bosnian Serb voters: current premier Milorad Dodik, SDS challengers Mirko Sarovic and Dragan Covic, or Party of Democratic Prosperity (PDP) leader Mladen Ivanjic.

The biggest question is voter support for current Republic of Srpska premier Milorad Dodik who has maintained his position strictly due to international pressure. Considered the only "democrat" among the Bosnian Serbs and Washington´s "fair haired boy" (Albright called him a "breath of fresh air"), Dodik will need large amounts of Western interference to stay in office.

Among the Serbian candidates, the wildcard for the West is PDP leader Mladen Ivanjic, the surprise in the recent municipal elections. He has the support of a large number of voters who, instead of casting protest votes against the SDS, voted for real political change. The RS voters, disappointed by both Biljana Plavsic and Milorad Dodik, cast their ballots for the young economics expert in the hope of a better future.

The "international community" will undoubtedly play a large role in Ivanjic´s political future. More than likely he will be forced to support Dodik´s candidacy for RS president and in return for the prime minister´s position. If he rejects such an offer, Ivanjic risks the same fate as Biljana Plavsic: first supported, then used, then discarded to a growing political scrap heap.

The other election wildcard is the number of Muslim votes in the RS which could reach 100,000. In the last election the Muslim voters cast their ballots for an outsider who had no chance of winning instead of supporting Biljana Plavsic against Nikola Poplasen. Consequently, the West´s then favourite Biljana Plavsic lost to anti-West oriented Nikola Poplasen. Eventually, Poplasen´s victory was declared null and void by the West - another move in contravention of diplomatic principles - and Dodik retained the premiership even though he had lost in the elections.

Another distinct possibility is for the SDS to receive another electoral gift, like the capture of Momcilo Krajisnik, which would lead to yet another sympathy vote for that party. The SDS is fully aware of that and is no hurry to name its candidate. As a result of a number of discriminatory policies against the Bosnian Serbs, the SDS is assured of good results at the polling booth. What is needed is a defining incident that will show discrimination against the Serbs as a whole.

All three nationalities are being manipulated at will by the occupying powers. The entire matter of administration for the people of the Balkans is reminiscent of the Stalinist Cheka, the notorious secret police who were judge, jury and executioner at the same time, another tragedy for the Balkan peoples who have once again become currency in the affairs of international "elites" instead of masters of their own destinies. The only question that remains unanswered is: What is the end game?

Washington Post - Iranians Form Terror Force in Bosnia

Islamic militants from Iran and other foreign countries are using forced marriages, kidnappings and the occupation of property to remain in Bosnia in violation of the Dayton peace accord, Bosnian officials have claimed.

Backed by members of a political party headed by the Bosnian president, Alija Izetbegovic, the Islamic fighters - who call themselves Mojahedin - are establishing themselves in a broad swath of central Bosnia, particularly in villages around the cities of Travnik, Zenica, Zavidovici and Kankanj, Bosnian officials said.

Most of the fighters, who came to Bosnia during the war, are Iranian but there are also Pakistanis , and Arabs, the official said.

The Islamic fighters act as a kind of paramilitary guard for Mr. Izebegovic's Muslim and increasingly nationalist Party of Democratic Action. Sources said they are particularly close to Semsudin Mehmedovic, the main Bosnian police official in the region and an influential hardliner in Mr. Izetbegovic's party.

Mr. Mehmedovic has nurtured and protected these men as part of a plan to create a reserve force to terrorise potential political opponents, to harass Serbs and Croats, and to pressurise Muslims who might not support Mr. Izebegovic, local officials said.

On June 26, the US said that the Islamic fighters had either left Bosnia or had been removed from the government's army and security services. But officials in central Bosnia said many had simply moved over to the police.

Some of the militants plan to remain permanently and now have Bosnian citizenship, which up to a hundred have obtained by marrying local women. In a few cases, the women were forced into marriage while officials looked the other way, according to human rights workers.

But ordinary Bosnians appear to be fed up with the lawlessness of the Islamic militants, as a case in the small village of Tevtovo illustrates.

Fahrudin Masinovic is a steel worker. He and his wife, Kasema, have raised two daughters, Eldina and Alina. When war erupted in Bosnia, Mr Masinovic took up his gun and fought for four years. When the war ended, he returned to his job and prayed for better times.

But on June 21 Eldina, aged 15, was kidnapped as she was coming home from school. It was part of a plot to marry her to an Islamic fighter. For two days foreigners, working with their Bosnian allies, drugged her and held her captive, the family and local police officials said.

Eldina's sister, Alina, spotted her sister's green shoes as the captors attempted to smuggle Eldina, cloaked head-to-ankle in a black chador, out of the area and her captors let her go. But they returned to the village later, beat up Mr. Masinovic and his brother and shot at his house as children played inside.

Local police tried to help Mr. Masinovic but it was obvious that the alleged kidnappers had a friend in the provincial police chief, Mr Mehmedovic, in nearby Zenica. Despite charges of kidnapping and attempted murder, they were released and remain free.

The turmoil changed Mr. Masinovic. Unlike dozens of other Mojahedin victims, Mr. Masinovic fought back, granting television interviews and talking to local reporters.

The sources also claimed a unit of the Bosnian army called the 7th Muslim Brigade, is receiving training by Iran, modelled on that of the Iranian-backed Hizbullah in Lebanon.

The following photograph was referenced in:

Time-Life books: "The SS", Edition 1989, page 161.
The caption under the photograph reads (quote):
Bosnian Muslims in death's-head fezzes examine a tract on Islam and Jewry at their camp in Yugoslavia in 1943. Himmler glibly denied the Slavic heritage of these recruits, portraying them as descendants of Goths who once overrun the region.
(End quote).

The book in the Muslim hands has German title: "Islam und Judentum". The volunteers have swastika on their collars.

In the same book, by chance(?) in the page that faces it (page 160), the book shows the Bosnian Muslim SS allies from The Hague. Some things never change.

BOSNIAN MUSLIMS VOLUNTEER EN MASSE
INTO NAZI SS

Most of the basic literature, while talking about WWII Independent State of Croatia (ISC), does not fail to mention that entire Bosnia-Herzegovina was part of this Nazi satellite. Whether the source is Jewish written "Encyclopedia of the Holocaust" or recently written book by British schollar Professor Cleve Ponting ("Armageddon") there is no dispute in the literature about the total count of the population of that country:

Out of total 6.5 to 7 million people of (ISC)
round 3.5 million were Croats
round 2 million were Serbs
Muslims totalled between 700,000 and 750,000
40,000 were Jews, 30,000 Gypsies

It is obvious that Croatian fascists were at enormous task to exterminate almost a third of the population they got to control. This is why they tried hard to atract the Bosnian Muslims to help them. The response was overwhelming...

Encyclopedia of the Holocaust, Edition 1990, Volume 2, Pages 706 and 707, entry Husseini, Hajj Amin Al ; The main Hitler's supporter among Palestinian Arabs...
Quote:
It so happened that Husseini made his contribution to the Axis war effort in his capacity as a Muslim, rather than as an Arab leader, by recruiting and organizing in RECORD TIME, during the spring of 1943, BOSNIAN MUSLIM BATTALIONS in Croatia comprising some TWENTY THOUSAND MEN. These MUSLIM VOLUNTEER units, called Hanjar (Sword), were put in WAFFEN-SS fought Yugoslav partisans in Bosnia, and carried out police and security duties in Hungary. THEY PARTICIPATED IN THE MASSACRE OF CIVILIANS IN BOSNIA and VOLUNTEERED TO JOIN IN THE HUNT FOR JEWS IN CROATIA... The Germans made a point of publicizing the fact that Husseini had flown from Berlin to Sarajevo for the sole purpose of giving his blessing to the Muslim army and inspecting its arms and training exercises.
(End quote).

A photograph, on page 704, shows al-Husseini inspecting Muslim troops in Bosnia and saluting them fascist way. The same photograph appears in "The Marshall Cavendish Illustrated Encyclopedia of WWII".

TWENTY THOUSAND (20,000) Muslim volunteers for the Nazi SS - out of total population of 700,000 - that's a HUGE response.

Time-Life books: "The SS", Edition 1989

Bosnian Muslims of Hanjar SS division study anti-Semitic literature (page 161).

Muslims are called by Croatian Ustashi to volunteer into Croatian Black Legion SS (page 159).

Many different European nations were called by Himmler to join SS... and many did (Belgians, Danes, Norwegians,... even Russian Cossacks). A photograph on page 160 shows happy SS volunteers from The Hague leaving for a training camp in Germany. Himmler knew he would not get Serbs to volunteer in the SS and they are among rare people not called.

"Uniforms, Organizations and History of the Waffen-SS" by R. Bender and Hugh Taylor

The following photograph is on display at the Imperial War Museum in London: Heinrich Himmler inspects the Bosnian Muslim 13th Waffen-SS Division.

"The Marshal Cavendish Illustrated Encyclopedia of World War II", Edition 1985, Vol. 10, page 2824, while talking about different SS divisions says (quote:)
Then there were atempts to exploit nationalist sectarian groups in Yugoslavia, raising anti-Serb forces to fight against Tito's partisans. This produced the "Handschar" Division: the 13th Waffen Gebirgsdivision der S.S. This was a force of Croatian volunteers, raised in 1943 and originally entitled "Bosnien-Herzegowina". A Moslem unit, its men wore fez, complete with silver skull-and-crossbones and eagle... When put to work in Yugoslavia it did little damage to Tito's partisans but showed itself adept in dealing out enthusiastic brutality to Yugoslav civilians. [We know which ones as they were themselves - Muslim and operated in Independent State of Croatia which left Serbs, Jews and Gypsies as the only targets of the brutality]. It was eventually disbanded and reformed as a mountain regiment, retaining the same name.

Even less efective were the Albanian S.S. volunteers, from whom the 21st Waffen Gebirgsdivision "Skanderbeg" was formed in 1944. Its chief problem was desertion, which finally necessitated its disbandment. The same held true for the short-lived "Kama" [dagger], a force of Croatians.
(End quote).

NOTE: Today, it was Imperial America to use ancient method of Divide et Impera ... and "to exploit nationalist sectarian groups in Yugoslavia, rising anti-Serb forces" in order to dismantle Yugoslavia and ethnically cleanse the Serbian people.

A photograph, on page 1062 (Vol. 4) of the same encyclopedia shows Ustashi SS Black Legion, so much praised by today's Croatia. The caption underneath the photograph says (quote:)
Young volunteers take the oath of allegiance on joining a Croatian legion of the Waffen S.S. The Signal caption reads: "Young men follow in their father's footsteps. The independent State of Croatia is allied to the Axis powers. Her youth fights for the future of Europe. The young soldiers of the Croatian divisions, with their country's coat of arms [Ustashi red and white checkerboard] on their steel helmets, swear allegiance to Adolf Hitler. Their fathers themselves fought, in a spirit of brotherhood, beside the Germans and the Austrians."
(End quote.)

And how little have changed! Substitute "Axis powers" for "NATO powers" (as those are the newest Croatian-Nazi protectors) and read the above quote once again. Not a word other than those is to be changed!... For the third time in this century Croats are proxies of evil powers to roll over Europe.

From our own files:

The Grand Mufti's last "Sieg Heil!" as he leaves the Muslim SS division he helped be formed.

Would the children of these SS-Muslims be able to finish under Bill Clinton what they could not during Adolf Hitler's time?

Today, Bosnian Muslims revived their SS roots and their SS-Hanjar division... And BRAG ABOUT THEIR NAZI PAST.
