MUSLIM COMMUNITY OF PALM BEACH WEBSITE CONTAINS LINKS TO THOSE CALLING FOR DEATH TO CHRISTIANS & JEWS

(Coral Springs, FL) Last Sunday, the Muslim Community of Palm Beach hosted hundreds of people for an interfaith banquet at its mosque. A report of this can be found on Islam Online, on a 'News' page featuring a picture of the late spiritual leader of Hamas, Ahmed Yassin. Among the attendees at the interfaith event were State Senator Ron Klein and Spokesman for the Palm Beach State Attorney's office, Mike Edmonson. Unbeknownst to the non-Muslim guests, the mosque has been actively spreading hatred against them, for years, through the use of its website.

On the 'Learn about Islam' section of the site, one finds a link entitled, 'Al-Sudays Qur'anic Recitation.' Sheikh Abd Al-Rahman Al-Sudays is the imam of the Al-Harram Mosque, located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. On Saudi state television, he is reported to have called for the murder of Jews and American "worshippers of the Cross."

Al-Sudays is also credited with saying, "Read history and you will understand that the Jews of yesterday are the evil forefathers of the even more evil Jews of today: infidels, falsifiers of words, calf worshippers, prophet murderers, deniers of prophecies… the scum of the human race, accursed by Allah, who turned them into apes and pigs… These are the Jews - an ongoing continuum of deceit, obstinacy, licentiousness, evil, and corruption…"

In addition to the Al-Sudays material, the mosque's 'Learn About Islam' page features a link entitled, 'An Introduction to Islam,' a portal to a site that was created by the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at the University of Southern California (USC). While there, one can read, in the section called, 'Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad),' "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. 'O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.'"

According to Islam Online, one of the event organizers, Wasi Khan, lamented "people have misconceptions about us" and said that he regretted that, after 9/11, "people are afraid of us," yet this bigoted information has been accessible from the mosque's website for over three years!

Beila Rabinowitz, Director of Militant Islam Monitor, stated, "People must realize that interfaith is Jihad through Da'wa. A look at the website of the Muslim Community of Palm Beach, which includes links to radical Islamist groups like ICNA, MAS, ISNA and CAIR, and the recitations of a Saudi cleric who called upon Muslims to murder 'Jews and worshippers of the Cross,' reveals the mosque's true agenda."

Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH), said, "It is unfortunate, but before government officials partake in events held at a mosque or Islamic center, they must thoroughly research the venue. In this case, the venue that was attempting to project moderation through an interfaith banquet was, at the same time, using its website to spread hatred against other faiths."
