http://www.al-ghurabaa.co.uk/Deen/jihaad1/terrorism.htm WHOEVER DENIES THAT TERRORISM IS A PART OF ISLAM IS KAFIR Many people use the term ‘terrorism', particularly because of claim of We see in the west, that they are eager to issue new laws under the pretext of ‘terrorism', enabling them to arrest arbitrarily and hold without charge or evidence and even hold them indefinitely as we have seen on numerous occasions; without to define terrorism they can include or exclude whoever they like from this legislation. It becomes a duty upon Muslims when they come under attack, and when the scholars and the da'ees come under attack under this pretext, to give the Islamic verdict on terrorism and explain what the Islamic stance is on terrorism. Firstly, Allah (swt) ordered the Muslims whenever there is a problem to make clarification for the divine rules in relation to that reality, especially when it has begun to affect life, honour and wealth. Allah (swt) says "Allah has taken a vow from the people of the book to elaborate the book to the people and not to conceal anything." [EMQ 3: 187] Therefore it becomes a duty upon the Muslims to elaborate to the people whenever anything occurs, and Allah explained that the people who conceal the knowledge are dispraised and are people of hellfire in His (swt) saying, "Those who hide what we have sent to the people from ayat and answers and guidance, they are the people that Allah cursed them and the people curse them, except those who repent and do good deeds and … those, I will forgive them and I am the one who forgives all." [EMQ 2: 159-160] Therefore, we are obliged to have ta'assie (resemblance) to the messengers and to the messenger Muhammad (saw), to always speak the Haq wherever we are and not to fear any consequences. ISLAM COMPARED TO THE DISTORTED DEENS This topic will begin with a comparison between the deen of Islam and the previous deens, which were all distorted; this distortion occurred when the innovations began to rise with some from among them and the others were silent over it. They were also to blame for the distortion. For this reason Allah (swt) informed us not to exaggerate nor innovate anything in our deen as that will be a cause of distortion and will invalidate it to be followed, the same way that we can no longer follow the deen of the jews and Christians. Allah (swt) says, "O people of the book, do not exaggerate anything in your deen except the Haq, and do not follow the desires of the people whom are misguided from the Haq before you and they misguided many people and were themselves astray." [EMQ 5: 77] In this ayah, Allah (swt) obliged upon the believers not to be like the jews and Christians, from whom some innovated into their deen and the others were silent. We are informed about some of the people of the book who did reject the distortion, and they made hijrah leaving their people in order to worship Allah alone in isolation. However, they did not speak out against it, they were silent. Allah (swt) says, "They innovated celibacy (to refrain from marriage and to leave all the people in order to worship Allah) and it was something that we did not oblige it upon them." [EMQ Hadid: 27] They did not make a stand for the Haq against the batil but instead ran away from it, they died, and the Haq died with them. The real Mujahid should target for the deen of Allah to be victorious and to die for it's sake, not just to kill kuffar and die. We say "victory or martyrdom" and that victory is for the deen to prevail not for your own personal victory. When the enemy uses the batil as Haq, the truth must come out to challenge it. It is not enough to know the Haq and tell yourself in private, you must come out and do something about it. We do not speak about terrorism to provoke people, but only because there is Haq that must prevail and there is nobody else speaking about it. Ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi said that, "If someone is in dar ul harb and builds a platform for Islam, and then he leaves it - he is sinful." When Allah (swt) sent the messenger Muhammad (saw), there was no one else on the earth who knew the Haq, even those who embraced Islam, they were so few in number that you could count them on your hand. They were the only ones who knew the Haq, he (saw) said, "Allah looked to the earth and he hated them, the Arab and the ajam except for the remaining true people of the book." [Muslim] This means that those few people of the book did know the Haq, yet they still did not speak out and so it died with them. If we do the same thing we would fall into the same calamity. The distortion of the deen of the jews and the Christians cannot reach the deen of Islam even with the prevailing misguidance, this is because Allah (swt) designated for this Ummah ulema and du'aat who will always stand for the Haq and struggle for it and Allah (swt) said, "We are the one who sent this dhikr (wahi) and we will protect it" [EMQ Hijr: 9] Allah will protect this deen, the Qur'an and the Sunnah i.e. all of the revelation, Allah guaranteed that protection, In the ahadith of Taa'ifah Mansoorah, NB we say Mansoorah, the victorious (i.e. victory for the deen, Allah said, "support (the deen of) Allah, he will support you.") Muhammad (saw) said, "There will continue a portion of my Ummah who fulfil the command of Allah, it doesn't harm them who disagrees with them or lets them down." [Bukhari] Imam Ahmed said, "Taa'ifah Mansoorah is Ahl Al Hadith, if not Ahl Al Hadith, then who?" In that time, Ahl Al Hadith were the only ones who stood up under attack, when the Jahl (ignorance) was spread, when the batil was spread everywhere, they were the ones who rose with the Haq. TERRORISM IS A PART OF ISLAM Allah (swt) says, "Prepare as much as you can from power (missile weaponry) and steeds of war, in order to terrify the enemy of Allah" [EMQ Anfal: 60] Allah (swt) made it obligatory in this ayah to prepare (Al I'daad) and to terrify (Al Irhaab) the enemy of Allah. This is waajib and this ayah is qati' (clear cut) and whoever denies it's meaning is kaafir regardless of his ‘interpretation' of terrorism. Allah (swt) says, "Nobody rejects the ayat except the Kafirun." [EMQ Ankabut: 47] The ayah mentioned Al Ijhaad, which means: "To reject and say by the tongue: ‘it is not true'." Furthermore, Allah (swt) says, "Who is more oppressor than the one who lies about Allah or denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not a place in hell for the Kafirun? As for those who strive hard in our cause, we will surely guide them to our paths. Verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun." [EMQ Ankabut: 68-69] Whoever says that Islam is free from terrorism or wants to differentiate between Islam and terrorism is committing Al Juhoud and that is Kufr Akbar – and will take them out of the fold of Islam. The one who says ‘we should fight against terrorism', he is fighting against Islam. We know very well that USA meant no one else by the term ‘terrorists' but Islam and Muslims and the one who wants to avoid terrorism, is avoiding Islam. THE KUFFAR ARE THE ENEMY It is known that the "Those who disbelieve of the people of the book and the mushrikeen are in the hellfire forever, they are the worst of creation." [EMQ Bayyinah: 6] and Allah (swt) says, "Those who claim that Allah is Jesus ibn Maryam, they are kafir …" [EMQ Ma'idah: 17] In this ayah, there is the manifestation of the anger of Allah (swt) when he said, "Those who claim that Allah is ‘Isa ibn Maryam, they are kafir, who can have any protection if Allah decides to destroy Isa and his mother and all the people of the earth?" [EMQ Ma'idah: 17] Allah (swt) says, "Fight those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day, nor do they forbid what Allah and his Messenger forbid, and they do not follow the deen of Haq among the people of the book (jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued." [EMQ 9: 29] Whoever denies that the Jews and Christians are kafir, they are kafir. Allah (swt) in this ayah, made the purpose of fighting them because of their kufr, regardless of whether or not they fight us. People ask "why do you say that the kuffar are the enemy?" despite Allah's (swt) saying, "The kuffar are for you a clear enemy." [EMQ 4: 101] Because of this ayah we should fear Allah and stop calling the kuffar our friends. The kuffar of "Terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy" [Anfal: 60] FIGHTERS & NON FIGHTERS Islam does not recognise any difference between the kuffar, they are either zhimmi (under the Islamic state) or mu'ahhed (has covenant with a Muslim), or he is harbi and has no sanctity for his life or wealth. There is no such thing as an ‘innocent' kafir, innocence is only applicable for the Muslims; do not say ‘innocent' for the kafir, the most you can say for them is that they are ‘victims'. The Muslim however, is innocent even if he engages to fight and conquer the kafir, because he is fulfilling the shari'ah. In the Shari'ah we either say zhimmi or harbi, zhimmi is either man, woman or child. The purpose of this classification is the need to know who from among them will pay the jizyah. The Harbi is classified for his hukm, is it hukman only? or hukman wa fi'lan – meaning that we fight him? Those we fight are those who are male, young and rich (i.e. they are suitable for fighting). They deserve to be fought, whether they fight us or not. Generally the harbi hukman (non-fighter) but not fi'lan are the women and children as long as they do not actually fight, the elder men, the disabled men, the blind or insane men etc, none of these are fought against as long as they do not themselves fight (like they do today) nor supports the fighting, nor do they do anything that leads to support of the fighting. [Al Mughni – ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi] Nowadays, the women are also fighting (e.g. in "There is no dispute among the fuqaha that if the non-fighters begin to fight, they will be killed." [Kitab ul Umm] Therefore, to use the term ‘innocent' or ‘civilian' is not correct because we know that the majority of men are fighters because of their capability to fight. Even children, if they begin to fight they will be fought with the enemy as fighters, the exception only being the babies. Toddlers will never be called fighters and they are the only ones who some fuqaha say that they are innocent, others say no, that they are the children of the kuffar and so are kuffar like them. Ahl Al Sunnah Wal Jama'ah believe that the babies are born on the fitrah and the children of the kuffar are on their way to becoming kafir. Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad believes that the children in general below the age of distinguishing (4-7) are innocent. The sahabah asked the prophet (saw), "When we raided by night, we found amongst the dead many children," he (saw) said, "they are part of them" So despite the fact that they are innocent; if they are killed by mistake their account is with Allah, even if innocent Muslims were killed in the attack the fighting is still permissible. There is no sin if they are killed by mistake, this is called Al Tatarrus - that if you cannot kill the enemy without to go through them, you kill and you know that Allah will deal with them. Umm Salamah narrated about people who made ghazu for the Ka'bah, Allah (swt) made landslides to destroy them and among them were many women and children and even Muslims, the prophet (saw) said, "There will be khasef for the beginning and end of them and each will be accounted on the day of judgement." If the people in the target are a mix between those who deserved to be killed and some who do not, that does not prevent to fight and kill all of them together. Some people will ask the question, "what about the family of the killed kuffar?" However, it is well known that it is not allowed to feel any sympathy for the kuffar, Allah (swt) says, "Do not feel sorry for the fasiqeen (the Jews)." [EMQ 5: 26] and He (swt) says, "Do not feel sorry for the kafireen." [EMQ 5: 68] Allah (swt) says, "Allah shook the earth, all of them were killed, those who said Shu'aib was not nabi, as if they never had money nor lived there, say: "O My people, I have conveyed the message of my lord to you. After that, how dare I feel sympathy for the kafireen?" [EMQ A'raf: 91 -93] Not only is it obligatory to fight them, it is haram to feel sorry for them when they are killed. It is haram for us to feel sorry for them when Allah sends on them natural disasters, let alone when they are killed deliberately for the sake of Allah. Moreover, Allah (swt) says, "Fight them, Allah will punish them with your hands, and humiliate them and support you against them and cure the hearts of the believers …" [EMQ Allah made it clear for us, that any calamity that occurs to them will make us satisfied in our hearts and that the kuffar have no karamah (dignity). Allah (swt) says, "O you who believe, do not take the jews and Christians as allies, they are allies to each other, and anyone of you who takes them as allies is one of them, and Allah will never guide the oppressors (disbelievers)" [EMQ 5: 51] Allah will never forgive the one who allies with the kuffar against Muslims, Allah (swt) says, "Those who have a weak heart will hurry to them (and start to praise them) and say, "we feared a calamity might come to us," and Allah may bring the conquest or change their situation… they should blame nobody but themselves …" [EMQ Allah (swt) explained further to us, that it is not only to ally with them that is forbidden, but even to support them in any way. He (swt) informed us that the support is Muwalaat, "The awliyaa' who give support …" [EMQ Shura: 46] So if you support them in their kufr or against Muslims, you are awliyaa', you are allied to them and kafir, that is why ibn Hazm said after quoting this ayah, "If you give them a cup of water you are kafir." Imam Shafi'i said, "If anyone (knowingly) sells to the kuffar stone or wood for building their churches, they are kafir." Ibn Taymiyyah said, "Anybody who supports the kuffar on their kufr or against Muslims, they are kafir." [Majmou' Al Fattawa] This kufr of alliance with the kuffar against the Muslims has a long history in our Ummah and was a cause of the destruction of the Khilafah. In Andalus, the Muwalaat against the kuffar against the Muslims caused the loss of Andalus to the crusaders. [1916-1918] The kuffar often succeed to take from Muslims to ally with them against other Muslims; in fact that is the very cause of the destruction of the Islamic state. Sharif Hussein was the one who fought under the leadership of the british fighting against the Muslims in After that, their agent Sharif Hussein and his family, after being promised power and authority as ‘the king of all the Arabs' were thrown out and sent to Cyprus; It was there that he wrote his book about the betrayal by the British against him. His son was the one who later came to power in In this time also, Muslims from [1991], When [2001], Currently, there are many soldiers from many Muslim countries fighting against the Taliban and Al Qa'ida alongside with the kuffar. Furthermore, it was the All of this destruction is caused by the hesitation and refusal by the Muslims to make takfeer and refusal to call the kuffar kuffar, because of their lack of understand of the correct Aqeedah and lack of Al Walaa Wal Baraa'. Moreover, the kuffar proudly make boasts of making countries like Afghanistan and Iraq to be ‘civilised' and to develop them to be partners in the international community, their intention is only to change the deen to their deen, their deen of freedom and democracy; yet it is still the Muslims doing their dirty work and supporting their crusade. We find that the Muslims are completely confused, in this time of crisis we should turn to Allah, yet the Muslims are more and more turning to the kuffar. Because of their lack of understanding of Islam, they do not know who their enemies are and who their friends are, they do not know who is Muslim nor who is Kafir. The Muslims readily attack and condemn other Muslims because they commit terrorist acts, yet they do not know that Terrorism is obligatory in Islam against the enemy of Allah. Neither do they believe in terrorism nor do they know that the kuffar are our enemies and the enemies of Allah; resulting that they ally with them against other Muslims. In this time when all the kufr is spread and all the batil is prevalent, when people are leaving the deen of Islam without to know, it is essential for there to be Muslims rising to command good and forbid evil, to address and elaborate these issues for the people so that the Haq may prevail and confront the batil ---------------- Al Irhaab - Terrorism among the Salaf http://www.al-ghurabaa.co.uk/Deen/jihaad1/TERRORISM_SALAF.htm Since 9/11 we have heard frequently, the term "Terrorism" or "Al Irhaab" in constant discussion and we find that some people do not like even for this term to be used. So what is it's ruling? What did the ulemaa of the Salaf say about Al Irhaab? First of all we must understand that there is a war between Islam and Kufr, and the kuffar are fighting a war against what they have termed as terrorism. We must understand what is this terrorism? We must appreciate that some people use the term in the context of praise and in the context of dispraise, the people of Tawheed use it as a praise, to say that the mujahideen are terrorists as a praiseworthy attribute, and the kuffar use the term as dispraise to call the people terrorists as an attack upon them. We must understand whether or not there is any relationship between the jihad and the terrorism, Allah (swt) used this term in the Qur'an, "Prepare as much as you can from the power (Quwwah) and from the horses of war in order to terrorise the enemy of Allah and your enemy." [EMQ 8:60] The power here has been mentioned by the prophet (saw) to be missile weapons, the prophet (saw) said, "Verily the power (Quwwah) is rami (missile weapons)." We do not say about this ayah that it is to prepare ourselves internally, because we know from the hadith of the prophet (saw) that the deen will be supported in the jihad even by someone who is a sinner, the prophet (saw) said, "Allah will support this deen with a man who is Fajir (the Fasiq Fajir is the one who leaves all his duties and does the Haram)." Even the one who is corrupted could be fighting and then his intention may change at the last moment and he becomes a man of jannah. Even also, the opposite can be true, the one who goes sincerely to the Jihad could change at the last moment and he is killed while his intention changed to steal or to chase the booty instead of fighting for the sake of Allah, and so he could go to hellfire. This could happen even to the best of people. The prophet (saw) spoke about Qirqara, someone who carried the belongings of the prophet (saw) for years, he went to the battlefield and he saw the cloak of a man there, he took it and was killed while he took it; subsequently the people said about him that he was shaheed and the prophet (saw) said, "no, he is in the fire". Terrorism in Islam is the violation of the sanctity of any living being, verbally, physically or financially with or without a permit. If it is with the permit from Allah, it will be praised, if it is without any permit from Allah, then it is dispraised. We should understand that initially, every Muslim has sanctity for his life, wealth and honour. The Prophet (saw) said, "Whosoever helps people to kill Muslims even by a word or a date, he is kafir." You cannot ally to the kuffar against Muslims, nor give them up to the kuffar, if you report on the Muslims and lead them to be arrested or killed or their sanctity to be violated, that is kufr and that is the terrorism that is dispraised. Islam speaks about Irhaab (Terrorism) and about Ir'aab - Ir'aab is horror, the prophet (saw) says, "Allah gives me victory by horrifying (by Ir'aab) the enemy." The prophet (saw) also ordered us to "Throw terror in the heart of the enemy." And that is the praised terrorism. Imam Shafi'i spoke about terrorism in Islam, he said, "Terrorism (Irhaab) for the enemy is one of the foundations of Islam, whosoever doubts that terrorising the enemy is fard is kafir" What about if they doubt but they do not deny it, Imam Shafi'I was speaking about the doubt here as kufr duna kufr, however if you deny it (Al Juhoud) then that is Kufr Akbar. Imam Shafi'i referred to the same ayah in surah Anfal, "Prepare as much as you can from the power (Quwwah) and from the horses of war in order to terrorise the enemy of Allah and your enemy." [EMQ 8:60] Which is an order from Allah to terrorise the enemy of Allah and even others who have not come yet, he said about it, "This ayah is clear-cut that we must prepare in order to terrorise the enemy of Allah and your enemy. Allah (swt) says, "And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith. (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those mushrikeen who have a treaty with you and they never broke it nor supported others against you, complete your covenant with them till the end for Allah loves the Muttaqeen. But when the sacred months have passed, kill the mushrikeen wherever you meet them, take them, and siege them and wait for them in every ambush..." [EMQ 9: 3-5] And Allah (swt) says, "Allah has revealed to the angels, I am with you, make the believers firm, I will throw into the hearts of the enemy terror, strike their necks and cut their finger-tips, that is because they contended with Allah and his messenger and however contends with Allah and his messenger, Allah is severe in punishment." [EMQ 8: 12-13] Imam Shafi'i established from these ayat that terrorism is part of the deen, it is hukm Shari'i and that you cannot deny them. Unfortunately, the terrorism has been utilised by only one party, by the enemy of the Muslims for so many years and the Muslims have forgotten this obligation to terrorise them in return. Allah (swt) says, "Those who supported the people of the book, he shakes them and made them lose their capability and he strikes terror in their hearts, some you killed and some you captured." [EMQ 33: 26] So we must do the action to fight them and Allah will make it binding on them to be terrorised by us and Allah (swt) continued, "And He made you heirs of their lands, their houses, and their goods, and of a land which you had not seen (before). And Allah has power over all things." [EMQ 3:27] Allah (swt) says, "and fight them in the way of Allah those who fight against you, do not transgress, Allah does not like those who transgress, kill them wherever you meet them, turn them out from wherever they turned you out for the Fitnah is harder than the murder, but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who disbelieve, But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful, and fight them (in their own lands) until there is no more fitnah and all the deen is for none but Allah." [EMQ 2:190 - 193] When the kuffar came from far away to Iraq to kill and rape the Muslims, all the while claiming to fight terrorism, which translates for them to destroying the mosques and the raping the Muslim women, to stepping on the Qur'an to drawing the cross on the Qur'an like they do in Iraq, how can there be any answer for them except to terrorise them in return? Verily, Allah (swt) says, "Therefore, when ye meet the Disbelievers (in war), strike their necks; until you have thoroughly subdued them (killed many from them and spilled their blood everywhere) and then bind a bond firmly (on them)…" [EMQ 47: 4] And Imam Shafi'I said, "Therefore, terrorising the enemy of Allah is waajib shari'I by text (Nass) from Allah and whoever denies that is kafir, Allah (swt) says, "Nobody denies our ayat except a kafir." [EMQ Ankabut: 47]." [Mawsou'atul Shafi'i] Today we are in a time when the Jihad is Fardh ‘ayn upon the Muslims wherever they are physically, financially and verbally in accordance to their capability, the Jihad and the terrorism is not something to be afraid of nor to be avoided, rather terrorising the enemy of Allah is an obligation in the Deen of Islam, it is the Sunnah of Muhammad (saw) and it is the Fardh of the Zamaan (era), anyone who avoids the terrorism fee sabeelillah is avoiding Islam, anyone who fights against the Terrorism that is fought in the way of Allah, is fighting against Islam, and anyone who denies that terrorism is a part of Islam has disbelieved in Allah (swt) and his Ayaat (i.e. he has become apostate from Islam. --------------------- BOMBINGS IN ISLAM http://www.al-ghurabaa.co.uk/Deen/jihaad1/explosions.htm Nowadays, many people have begun to discuss the ahkaam of the bombing of properties and cars and we hear many alluring comments that these bombings and explosions are not ‘the way for settlement' or ‘reformation'. It may be very alluring but is not at all a fair comment, it is an unjust judgement of the Islamists; those explosions are just a means, it is not a way of life nor method for any objective. Therefore the hukm for these means will take the same hukm of the target and objective. This bombing has an objective; it has its fruits and outcomes and has its juristic evidence, it is different from what people conclude to be the purpose of a bombing. It is neither fair nor correct for one to assume that the hukm can be so brought simply for the means of attaining that objective. If we were to deal with every matter of the deen in this manner it would only cause more confusion and waste effort and time and keep us discussing and disputing in back and forth in circles. There is no doubt, result of the bombings is that there is killing and destruction, some of that killing is with haq and some of it is without haq. For example, killing a Muslim is without any haq except if it has an Islamic cause e.g. stoning the adulterer, killing the apostate, punishing the criminals etc. As for the kafir; the life of the kafir has no sanctity unless he has a covenant of security, either musta'man or dhimmi, however originally he has no sanctity. Any explosion that is not based on haq causes nothing but fasad and destruction, but any explosion that has haq is a great cause for reformation and settlement. Any bombing can be praised by Allah and can also be dispraised by Allah. However to create or innovate new terms and arguments, claiming that it is just a cause of corruption, division etc will only add to the confusion of the people. Those people who are discussing and addressing these issues should use Ilm and should refrain from confusing the masses who are easily misled with their dazzled arguments and rationalism, They spread their corruption among the masses in the way that they spread their ideas like fire in the time of elections, repeating their call until the minds of the people are trapped with it and fixed on it. An example of this is the one who speaks and warns the people against the da'wah, claiming that the Da'wah is a bridge to jahannam. When someone accuses the mujahideen and the du'aat to be the callers to the gates of jahannam in the hadith of Hudhaifah ibn Yamaan; we must ask, can this man ever benefit from the intercession of Muhammad (saw) on the day of judgement? He wants to spread his corruption even by quoting ayat like Allah's saying, "The shaytan calls his awliya to jahannam." [EMQ Fatir: 6] There are callers calling to the haq and they are on the path to Jannah, and there are callers calling to the falsehood and they are on the path to jahannam, the explosions are of types. We must know what was the objective and aim of the operation? Who was targeted and who was killed? Was the aim to please Allah? Were Muslims targeted or kuffar? Was the objective to kill Muslims or to fight the aggressors? There are many gates to jannah, one of which is Baab ul Jihad (the gate of Jihad). The people of Haq will lay down a lot of ‘izzah and dignity against the enemy with full yaqeen (certainty) that Allah will promise them paradise and dignity. The people who condemn these attacks do not stop to think, neither about what the objective of the bombing was nor who was targeted and attacked. People condemn the bombings in Allah (swt) ordered and obliged upon us to terrify and anger the kuffar, the enemies of Allah and the Muslims. Allah (swt) says, "Prepare as much as you can from power and steeds of war, in order to terrorize the enemy of Allah and your enemy." There is no doubt that bombing the kuffar in Muslim lands and the lands of the kuffar will terrify them, anger them and deter them from attacking us again. We see nowadays that there is nothing that shakes the enemy except the attacking and bombing and violence for the sake of Allah. In Palestine, the Jews suffer and feel as if they are in hell because of the regular daily attacks and operations, but they never felt any fear or suffering from demonstrations in London. If we look to the bravest men of the century and the heroes of the Ummah in this century like Abdullah Azzam, Khattab, Muhammad Al Shehrie, Ahmed Al Haznawi, Sa'eed Al Ghaamidi, Sheikh Abul Abbas Al Janoobi, Sheikh Usama bin Laden, Khalid Ayyash and so many more, these people never became great heroes except by being teachers of this kind of fighting. It seems that the one who wants to sell out that those bombings are not ‘the way for revival' or a ‘rational approach' is only trying to sell his own views of building tarbiyyah and education to revive the ummah. Despite the fact that we recognise the importance of tarbiyyah and education, especially to purify the aqeedah in the ummah, to purify the tawheed and teach the people to reject the taghout, to build in them the walaa and baraa', however that does not negate the call of jihad and the call for fighting the aggressors, defending the life, the wealth and the honour of the Muslims with their lives and their bodies, it cannot stop the call to stop the aggression against the Muslims. It seems that they want us to resist the aggression by peaceful debate and by leaflets, it is strange how those minds think, can they truly believe in what they are saying? Or do they not understand ugliness of their call that they call us towards? It is not Allah that calls us to that foolish logic; it is only by our desires and our love for the dunya and our hate for death that we have become useless like the froth on the river. The history will report our situation with many question marks. When we read the stories of Banu This happened in the past with the tatarians who used to occupy the lands of the Muslims for years, yet the people did not move or manage even to shake a single vein against them. The same occurred in Al Sham, when it was occupied by the kuffar; at that time, the Sultan sent ulema and du'aat to encourage the people and motivate them for jihad, yet it did not help them except a little. What is stranger still is that today, if the people become cowards and do not respond to the call for jihad and to the callers to the fight, then what will they do if their elders plant on them humiliation and defeat, if they prevent any progress with their slogans of reform and peace? That is why the people start to say, ‘it is not a time of fighting, it is a time of islah and reformation' I pray to Allah that the people understand that the jihad and the means for the Jihad take the same hukm, that they understand that the people of jihad will decide if a means is useful or not useful, if it is beneficial or not beneficial, I pray to Allah to keep us firm on this deen and strong in our resistance and I pray that Allah (swt) protects us from confusion and doubts. ----------------------- Fawae'ed Al Shadaa'ed http://www.al-ghurabaa.co.uk/Deen/jihaad1/CRISIS.htm - The Assistance/rewards equivalent to the hardship If you want paradise, you have to face hardship. The reward always matches with the amount of suffering you face; if you want paradise you must face the equivalent amount of hardship in order to earn it. 2- Competing in co-operation in the good deeds The prophet (saw) said: "Allah will never help his servant unless he helps his brother" In Uhud, the injured people needed water, but when the water arrived, they favoured their Muslim brothers over themselves, and sent the water to them before drinking, until they all died of thirst. 3- Creativity of good deeds, that haD no precedenCE before For example, in the battle of Ahzaab, the Muslims were creative and built the trenches around Madina, it stretched for 9km, and despite the extreme cold Allah (swt) gave the Muslims strength to withstand it. The idea of the trenches was new and never used before, and was a great feat especially in the cold winter. 4- Forcing people to learn how to handle hardship Allah (swt) said: "Verily, with the hardship comes the ease" [EMQ 94: 3] For example in In the time of Jihad, the prophet (saw) used to live on only one date every three days, once he went three months on only one date. Allah (swt) informed us about Ya'goug and Ma'goug, and Dhul Qarnain. They learnt in the time of hardship to live in the mountains, Abu Musa narrated that those people (the Ash'ariyoun), used to have very little but everything they had they used to share, if one of them had some food, he would let all of them eat from it, if one had clothes they would let everyone wear it in turn, and if there was a shortage of water, they used to put all of their water together and then distribute it. Now in You should train yourself to handle hardship, perhaps sleep on the floor instead of on your bed from time to time, eat one meal a day instead of three. Etc. 5- THE PEOPLE START TO RETURN TO ALLAH (SWT) AND REPENT The Iraqis are now 24 hours in the masjid, the people start to become Islamists. Allah (swt) informed us that at the time of the great fire, the people will make istighfar, and call to Allah (swt) In the Battle of Hunayn, the people were large in number, and stronger than the enemy, but they were defeated, and they did not know what to do, they called to Allah (swt) and that's when Allah (swt) gave them victory. Allah is the one who gives victory. He informed us that victory is not from our own efforts. The way to combat this kind of thinking is to have total Tawakkul on Allah (swt). Like Musa (as) when they reached the sea, the jews said that it was the end, and started to complain to Musa (as). But Musa (as) never felt defeated, and told them that Allah (swt) will save them. In the 6- BRINGING UP A GENERATION OF JIHAD AND DA'WAH, ON THE LEVEL OF THE STRUGGLE In times of Struggle, the people raise the next generation differently, they teach their children to be ready for the struggle and hardship. Like in In the time of Bani Israel, they said to Musa (as), "We are not going to enter Jerusalem, as long as the armies and great fighters are there, go you and your lord to fight, and we will wait here." Musa (as) went with Harun alone. Allah (swt) made it forbidden on those jews to enter 7- THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL, AND THAT WHICH IS CONCEALED WILL BE EXPOSED Everybody will know who is who, and who is speaking the truth, and who is lying, the moderate and secular people are exposed. After 9/11, the 8- THE HYPOCRITES WILL BE EXPOSED With the crisis, you can see who is the enemy, and who is your friend. The Wicked Scholars are exposed. After 9/11 everybody jumped to show their allegiance to 9- ALL THE SINCERE DA'EES AND MUJAHIDS AND GOOD MUSLIM LEADERS WILL PREVAIL Allah (swt) designates new leaders in the time of crisis. The people see the ‘Ulema, and Da'ees that they never saw before. When the crusaders entered into Another young man in the Battle of Yarmuk lead the people to defeat the enemy, by using empty watermelons to hide under while swimming downriver, ambushing the kuffar. In the time of hardship he rose as a leader and the people followed him, whereas in a time of ease he may have not been so recognised. 10- FIQH OF SHARI'AH THAT HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD BEFORE WILL PREVAIL Only in the time of crisis, there is new Ahkaam that you will never have heard before, Martyrdom Operations, hostages, etc. and there will be many fattawa from the ‘Ulemah. In the time of crisis the people ask for Ahkaam that no-one would normally ask. LESSONS FROM THE CRISIS 1- THERE IS NO GUIDANCE WITHOUT THE GUIDANCE OF ALLAH (SWT) The Sahabah were facing a great hardship in Makkah, when they were being completely boycotted, the prophet (saw) said "there is no success without the guidance from Allah (swt)" Allah (swt) said: "(on the The highest guidance is to reject Taghout, and believe in Allah (swt) exclusively (I.e. to have Tawheed.) And so, whosoever believes that any deen is like the deen of Allah or better than the deen of Allah (swt) is Taghout, and a failure. 2- THERE IS NO TAWHEED WITHOUT AL WALAA' WAL BARAA' You cannot have a solution to any crisis through violating Al Walaa' Wa Al Baraa'. Allah (swt) said: "You do not find people who claim that they believe in Allah and his messenger and they make friends with those who disbelieve in Allah …" Allah (swt) said: "O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers, nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whosover of you take them for friends, such are wrong doers." [EMQ Tauba: 23] If the people had Al Walaa wa Al Baraa' the problems of today will never have happened. 3- THE HAQ IS NOT KNOWN BY A PERSON, WE KNOW THE HAQ BY THE EVIDENCE If the evidence is clear, you cannot ignore it just because sheikh so…and...so said different. The person is known by whether or not he follows the haq (evidence) or not, nor the other way round. 4- THE HAQ WILL ALWAYS HAVE TEST AND HARDSHIP FOR ITS FOLLOWERS It is the Sunnah of Allah (swt) that he will test the people of Haq. Allah (swt) informs us that the people of Haq will always have enemies. And in another ayah He (swt) explains that the falsehood will be defeated and will disappear only when the Haq rises. 5- THE RESISTANCE OF THE MUSLIMS BY BODY, WEALTH AND TONGUE IS OBLIGATORY ON THE MUSLIMS The prophet (saw) said: "The Jihad will continue till the day of judgement" The jihad will continue whether or not the enemy attacks us or not, whether or not the enemy enters our lands. It is obligatory for all Muslims to fight verbally, physically and financially against kufr, not only in the time of war. You need to bring up your children ready for Jihad. All Muslims are in the battlefield, and everyone has a frontier of battle, whether they are teachers, doctors or military, everyone has their frontier and the hadith says "Do not let (the Ummah) be attacked from your direction." The jihad will continue in all its forms, whether, verbal, financial or physical. Allah (swt) said: "Say: If your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and your tribe, and the wealth ye have acquired, and merchandise for which ye fear that there will be no sale, and dwellings ye desire are dearer to you than Allah and His messenger and Jihad for the sake of Allah (swt): then wait till Allah brings His command (torment) to pass. And Allah guides not the Zalimun." [EMQ 9: 24] 6- THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN HAQ AND BAATIL IS ALWAYS IN STAGES The Victory of Haq will not come altogether, it will come stage by stage, you should not fail any one of the stages. Allah (swt) will send the Haq for a short time, then the baatil will follow and chase it. The sahabah struggled throughout, from young age till death, and they always carried the Haq; they faced torture, boycott, war and poverty, but eventually the Haq prevailed. 7- MUSLIMS MUST NEVER COMPROMISE IN ANY MATTER The Muslims cannot compromise in any matter nor fall into the Baatil. You cannot compromise in your deen to go on a demonstration with the kuffar for whatever excuse or reason you may try to use. You cannot stop the Fard for any reason, whether Salah, Da'wah, Jihad. If you cannot do the Fard then you must make hijrah. The Kuffar and their falsehood will never accept your compromise unless you accept all of their deen. Allah (swt) said: "The jews and Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their deen." And "they wish you to become kafir like them so that you may be equal." 8- ALLAH (SWT) PROMISED TO HUMILIATE ANYBODY FROM AHL AL HAQ WHO FOLLOWS AHL AL BATIL Allah (swt) told us to tell those hypocrites that they will have a severe humiliation, because they make friends with the kuffar… 9- AHL AL BATIL ARE ALWAYS THE AWLIYA OF SHAYTAN Any of the kuffar who are fighting against Muslims are the soldiers of Shaytan. Allah (swt) said: "We sent the shayateen to the kuffar." And Allah (swt) said: "Those who believe fight for the sake of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight for the sake of taghout, so fight the awliya of shaytan." [EMQ 4: 76] 10- VICTORY IS ALWAYS FOR THE BELIEVERS Allah (swt) promised that victory is always for the believers. It is the Sunnah of Allah (swt) that nobody will be the victors but the believers. Allah (swt) said: "He sent down this deen of haq, to dominate all other deens, even though the mushrikun hate it." [EMQ 9: 33] We cannot be sad or disheartened, eventually the believers will be victorious and the kuffar humiliated. --------------------------- http://www.al-ghurabaa.co.uk/Deen/jihaad1/martyrop.htm THE PERMISSIBILITY OF SELF SACRIFICE OPERATIONS PART 1 Today we are facing a time when the dignity of the Muslim ummah is under attack and the Muslims have lost the two branches of dignity, those two obligations after Tawheed; that of the establishment of Al Khilafah and that of Al Jihad. These are the two missing pillars in the deen of Islam and in the ummah of Muhammad (saw), the first pillar of Tawheed is shaken from the distortion and abuse. Allah (swt) is testing us in this century with two big tests, with the two noblest obligations after Tawheed, the two missing obligations - the absence of the Khalifah to implement Islam, and the absence of Jihad in both its divisions, the offensive and defensive, whether as a fard kifayah or fard 'ayn. The Ahkaam will rise, when it becomes fard 'ayn on the Muslims to go to jihad. But there is something in between. The Muslim, if he does not get the honour to participate in the battlefield with the mujahideen, he should be engaged on speaking about the jihad, promoting the jihad and Mujahideen, and if you are not able to engage on establishing the khilafah, you should be speaking about the obligation of khilafah, and preparing for the khilafah. Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: Imaan is sayings and actions, but there is something hidden - the intention (Niyyah). Therefore we should always be in that niyyah with regards to jihad. Ubadah ibn thabit narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: The Mujahid is always hurrying to meet his lord, because losing that opportunity is punishment and meeting him is mercy. THE PERMISSIBILITY OF SELF SACRIFICE OPERATIONS The Prophet (saw) said: Nowadays the enemy has the upper hand over us and we do not have the means to fight back, resulting that when one part of the Ummah is bleeding, another part is attacked. While some areas have all their defections exposed because of years that the kuffar have been poisoning the Muslims, resulting that the Muslims are full of diseases, and they are needy for people to rise, and Allah (swt) designated people from the youth to rise. The Mujahid has Qiyaam ul Layl, all night, and in the daytime he goes out looking for the kuffar to fight, seeking only two things, victory or martyrdom. It is narrated that Allah (swt) said: Either way there is victory, whether he kills or is killed. Allah (swt) said: We seek for the kuffar, only for Allah to send calamities on them, or to punish them ourselves. In Jihad there is always an Amir ul Jihad, especially for offensive jihad. In defensive jihad, there is a permit at the start of fighting to fight however you can, but eventually you must organise and appoint an Amir. The Amir has titles, like Al Ghazi (the raider), Al Mansur. etc Abdullah ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: And it is narrated that he (saw) said: Yazid bin Abi Ubaid said: and Allah (swt) said: We are not targeting for something small in the dunya, we target Jannah and the hur ul 'een. Allah traded with the believers, first with their life, and then their wealth, whether they die by the sword, the gun, or the bomb. There is no difference between the one who wants to sell himself to his lord with a plane or by receiving a bullet or receiving a sword, or by becoming a bullet for the sake of Allah. If we say that Allah is selling to us, there must be a buyer, or if Allah is buying then there must be a seller, Allah said that he purchases from the believers, so we are the sellers, and that is better for us because the seller is always the one who makes the profit. Allah ordered us in the time of jumu'ah to leave selling, not buying, because selling is the one that is harder to leave, because it is the better position, we should take lesson from this, That Allah (swt) is offering to buy from us our life for Jannah, we should seek to be in this better position, i.e. with the opportunity to sell our life for the sake of Allah (swt). A Sahabi said: The Prophet (saw) said: The Prophet (saw) told us this to encourage the Muslims, Allah has already said that he has accepted to buy from us, we only have to offer him our life. This topic of 'Martyrdom Operations', is divided into 10 divisions: 1- MARTYRDOM OPERATIONS - AL AMALIYYAT AL ISTISHHADIYYAH Suicide is forbidden, whether to kill yourself for a woman, or for dunya, or to be saved from humiliation etc, all this is death of jahiliyyah. However Self Sacrifice is different, Al Amaliyyat is 'operations', Al Aml is the action, and the plural is A'mal, the actions always leave behind some kind of mark or sign. The difference between actions and operation is like the difference of 'man - Insan' and 'Humanity - Insaniyyah', between hukm and Haakimiyyah, between Rabb and Rububiyyah. It was narrated that: The definition of Al Amaliyyah Al Istishhadiyyah: So this action is something that is specific. He, the Mujahid is the one who knows that he is going to do it, and how much certainty he has that he will kill from the kuffar and that he will be killed. Nowadays we say that it is a form of resistance, and it is known after the discovery of explosives, that in guerrilla warfare that he will use as much explosives he has to inflict maximum damage on the enemy. This is what has been seen in the Second World War, even the Japanese used it though there was no martyrdom for them as they are non-muslims. In a martyrdom operation, it is not possible that he should return unscathed, it is necessary that he will be harmed and will target to be killed in the operation. 2- EVIDENCE OF ITS AUTHENTICITY It has been narrated by Suhaib Al Rumi about the story of the Boy and the people of the ditch. The story about the young boy who would go and be set by the king to be taught magic, he would go to see a priest also though he was warned by the priest not to come - because they will find out. Eventually they did notice that the boy was coming late, and eventually found out that he was being taught by the priest. They ordered to kill the boy but could not, every time they attempted to do so, Allah (swt) protected and saved him … He said to the king: The story is mentioned by Allah (swt) in Surah Buruj. And ibn Taymiyyah said on this story, That is also why the Ulemah said that it is allowed to sacrifice your life in order to benefit the Muslims. Allah (swt) said: The sahabah applied this ayah to the one who fought the enemy by himself in the battlefield. Umar ibn Khattab, Abu Huraira, and other sahabah believed that any person who goes into the enemy by himself to cause destruction even by himself alone, that this ayah is applicable to him. [Tirmizi, ibn hibban, Tafsir Qurtubi v-2 p-261] 3- THE SAHABAH Hisham narrated: Imam Qurtubi said about this ayah, that this ayah is about the one who goes into the enemy by himself to fight. [Qurtubi v-2 p-21] Also in battle, seven people were selected by Muhammad (saw) from the Ansar with two men from the Muhajireen, he (saw) said to them Also it had occured in a battle attended by Muhammad (saw), that Abu Qatada and Salamah Gathered together to fight Ubaina ibn Husn, they each went into the middle of the enemy alone and fought against them. The Prophet (saw) praised them, and said: This Hadith is a proof that it is allowed for a man to fight alone against a gathering of the enemy, even if he has least amount of doubt that he will be killed as long as he does it sincerely seeking shahadah. Abu Ishaq narrated: It is also narrated: Two other sahabis, Abu Ayyub and Abu Musa Al Ash'ari did not prevent nor reject nor forbid for a man to enter an army alone and stand firm, fighting them until he is killed. Aslamah ibn Imran narrated, Mu'az ibn Afra said: BARA IBN MAALIK Furthermore it was narrated that: 4- THE ULEMAH There is ijma' that it is allowed to advance alone on the enemy, even if you know you will be killed. ibn Hajar said: Imam Nawawi said: Imam Sirkhasi said: Muhammad ibn Hasan Al Shaybani reported that Imam Al Jassas said: He also said that it is allowed to do so to terrify the enemy because that has benefit for the Muslims. [Kitab Ahkaam Al Qur'an for Al Jassass v-1 p-327] Allah (swt) said: Allah (swt) said: All these ayat are praising the one who fights and dies for the sake of Allah whether in the battlefield or outside. Imam Shafi'I said: Imam Nawawi said: ibn Mufli said: Imam Qurtubi said: Imam Qurtubi continued to say: Imam ibn Al 'Arabi said the same four points as mentioned above then quoted ibn Taymiyyah saying: The topic is not a new phenomenon; it is a topic existent throughout the past and was even elaborated upon in the past. There are only two main contemporary scholars that we shall quote here speaking about this topic. One is Sheikh Muhammad ibn Uthaymeen. He was asked about a man who blows himself up in Palestine and he was killed after killing 10 jews and wounding others, the first thing concerned is that he will be killed, he was asked if it is allowed and is it jihad? He said: He took the angle of Masaalih - benefit and interest. He built upon that that if he is going to achieve a great benefit for Islam, then it is allowed. We have a principle in Islam, that to judge a situation (understanding the reality) is part of the understanding. Furthermore the fatwa of Sheikh Nasir ud Deen Al Albaani, who was asked a similar question and was falsely accused of saying that it is considered suicide - he is free from that allegation. He has a fatwa confirmed in his tape number 134 in his chain of tapes "Al huda wal Nur", he was asked about a group of people from the enemy of commandos who keep inflicting harm on the Muslims, a group of Muslims started to use explosives on their body, and attacking tanks with it, they asked, "is it jihad or suicide?" Albaani said: But even so there are greater ulemah who spoke about it, Imam ibn Qudama Al Maqdisi said: ibn Khuwaiz bin daad said: TO BE CONTINUED INSHA ALLAH ... -----------
